Metamaterials have attracted increasing attention in recent years due to their powerful abilities in manipulating electromagnetic (EM) waves. However, most previously reported metamaterials are unable to actively control full-band EM waves. In this paper, we propose a thermo-tunable broadband metamaterial (T-TBM) using paraffin-based composites (PD-Cs) with different phase transition temperatures. Active control of the T-TBM reflection loss peaks from low to high frequency is realized by manipulating the solid–liquid state of the PD-Cs at different phase transition temperatures. The absorption peak bandwidth (where the reflection loss value is less than −30 dB) can be changed, while the broad bandwidth absorption (where the reflection loss value is less than −10 dB) is satisfied by adjusting the temperature of the T-TBM. It is shown that the stagnation of the phase transition temperature of the PD-Cs in the T-TBM provides a time window for actively controlling the EM wave absorption response under different thermal conditions. The device has a broad application prospect in the fields of EM absorption, intelligent metamaterials, multifunctional structural devices, and more.

Intelligence quotient(IQ)and adaptive behavior are the influencing factors of autism spectrum disorder(ASD)in children entering mainstream *** study explored the association between parental education level,IQ,and adaptive behavior in ASD groups.A total of 257 school-age ASD children were enrolled in our study from January 2017 to June *** parents completed a standard demographic form,including age at autism diagnosis,gender,school placement,and parents’educational *** Chinese version of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children,Fourth Edition(WISC-IV)was completed by a certified assessor for each enrolled *** were interviewed on adaptive behavior using the Chinese version of the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System,Second Edition(ABAS-II).The average IQ of school-age ASD children was 76.88(standard deviation(SD)=22.62)and boys had higher IQ levels than *** IQ was positively correlated with *** General Adaptive Composite(GAC)score was 82.47(SD=15.86)and adaptive behavior did not increase with *** children who attended mainstream schools had better adaptive behavior profiles than other *** mother’s education level showed a significant correlation with the IQ and adaptive behavior of autistic children,while the father’s education level did ***,better training and support for parents may help autistic children enter mainstream schools,with adaptive training being the most urgently required skill for parents.

Research on recycling waste Printed Circuit Boards(PCB) is at the forefront of preventing environmental pollution and finding ways to recycle *** Tapered Column Separation Bed(TCSB) is invented aiming at disposing the problem that fine particles of waste printed circuit boards cannot be separated efficiently so as to obtain further insight about the underlying mechanisms and demonstrate the separation feasibility in the tapered column separation *** this work,a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) coupled with Discrete Element Method(DEM) model for two-phase flow has been extended to simulate the fluid-solid flow in the tapered column separation *** validity is demonstrated by its successful capturing the key features of particles' flow pattern,velocity,the pressure distribution,the axial position with time and axial force for particles with different *** results show that the plastic particles and resin particles become overflow,while copper particles,iron particles and aluminum particles successively become underflow,with a discharge water flow rate of 1 m^3/h,an obliquity of 30°.The simulated results agree reasonably well with the experimental *** this equipment to separate waste PCBs is feasible,theoretically.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture analgesia(AA) compared with combined spinal-epidural anesthesia(CSEA) for labor pain relief and labor ***: We evaluated 131 primiparous women who received respiratory guidance during maternal uterine contractions and received either AA(n =43), CSEA(n = 45), or no additional treatment(control, n = 43). The groups were compared regarding visual analog scale(VAS) scores for abdominal and back pain, and labor ***: The abdominal VAS scores of the AA and CSEA groups were significantly lower than that of the control group. In addition, the VAS scores of the CSEA group were significantly lower than that of the AA group at 10 and 60 min after *** back pain VAS scores of the AA and CSEA groups were significantly lower than that of the control group at 5, 10, and 60 min after intervention. The duration of the active phase of labor in the CSEA group was significantly longer than that of the AA and control groups. The rates of oxytocin use(4.70%), urinary retention(4.70%), and postpartum hemorrhage [(273.7 ± 53.6) m L] in the AA group were significantly lower than in the CSEA group [46.70%, 24.20%, and(320.0 ± 85.6) m L, respectively].CONCLUSION: Both AA and CSEA were effective for labor pain relief, CSEA provided more effective pain relief, while AA was associated with a shorter duration of labor and fewer adverse *** each has its advantages and disadvantages.

BACKGROUND： Retinal microglia has been shown to reactivate in a murine model of pigmentary glaucoma. However, the relationship between microglial activation and intraocular pressure （lOP） elevation and retinal ganglion cell （RGC） death is still unclear. OBJECTIVE： To verify that microglial activation and tumor necrosis factor alpha （TNF-α） expression is involved in RGC death with elevated lOP and prolonged time of glaucomatous optic nerve lesion in a DBA/2J mouse model of glaucoma. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： This randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Peking University Third Hospital, Peking University Eye Center, China between December 2006 and May ***： DBA/2J mice and C57BL/6J mice （Jackson Laboratory, USA）, rat anti-mouse CD11 b monoclonal antibody （Serotec, UK）, and goat anti-TNF-α polyclonal antibody （Sigma, USA） were used in this ***： A total of 100 female, DBA/2J mice at 3, 6, 9, 12, and 14 months of age （20 mice per age group） were used for the glaucoma model, and 18 C57BL/6J mice at 3, 9, 14 months of age （6 mice per age group） were used as normal controls. The anterior segment of the eye was observed using a slit-lamp biomicroscope, lOP was measured using a microneedle system. Morphology and number of retinal microglia were observed using immunohistochemistry. RGCs were quantified using Nissl staining. Co-localization of TNF-α and microglia was observed using double-labeling immunofluorescence. Excavation of the optic nerve head was observed utilizing hematoxylin-eosin staining. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： The following parameters were measured： lOP levels, numbers of RGCs and activated microglia, and TNF-α expression. RESULTS： In 6-month-old DBA/2J mice, dispersed pigment was observed, and some mice developed increased IOP. At 9 months of age, lOP levels reached a peak. Porous oxide ceramics are widely used in extreme working conditions owing to their excellent resistance to high temperatures and ***,sintering is an inevitable process applied to ceramics,from the green body to the final *** highly complex structures exacerbate the shrinkage-induced ir-regular deformation and crack formation in the sintering process.A pioneering approach is developed in this study to achieve zero shrinkage for porous alumina ceramics during multistep sintering,using a combination of active fillers-ZrAl 3 and Al 75 Si *** response surface method is used to optimize the material compositions and sintering process,to achieve shrinkages of less than 0.05%for the entire *** sintering expansion mechanism is investigated by analyzing the pyrolysis and microstructures of samples at different *** combination of ZrAl 3 and Al 75 Si 25 can attain the continuous expansion of the matrix in a wide temperature range of 600-1400°***,typical alumina com-ponents are fabricated and used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed *** to shrinkage suppression,the profile deviation of the samples is less than 0.1 mm,and the proportion of microcracks is reduced by 97.8%.The suggested approach shows potential applications in near-net,low-defect fabrica-tion of complex fine ceramic components.

Aims:The aim of this study is to investigate nurses’research capacity and related training needs in Shanghai to provide evidence to further nursing research *** and Methods:A cross-sectional design with a convenience sample of 1226 clinical registered nurses,including the Nursing Research Capacity of Self-Evaluation Questionnaire and Research Training Needs Form,was recruited from 14 public hospitals in Shanghai,*** the influencing factors of nurses’research capacity were ***:The mean score of nurses’research capacity was(46.25±22.90)in Shanghai,that was at a low-to-medium *** influencing factors of nurses’research capacity including age(F=15.983,P<0.001),education(F=20.738,P<0.001),professional title(F=6.993,P=0.001),working years(F=7.803,P<0.001),department(F=8.545,P<0.001),and position(F=−3.354,P=0.001).The most critical factor is the time to participate a study(P<0.001).And what the nurses demanded were writing skills,special lectures,and participating in colleagues’projects ***:Nurse’s scientific research capacity still needs to be improved in *** key to improving this situation is the individualized scientific research training and education for nurses and the practice of more participation in scientific research projects.

To investigate proteins expressed in the renal tissue of the passive Heymann nephritis (pHN) rat model,we prepared pHN rat models with anti-FxA1 serum and analyzed the proteins differentially expressed in the kidney tissue with label-free liquid chromatography-tandem mass *** then analyzed in depth the endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS)-related protein using an online bioinformatics ***-one differential proteins and their annotations were *** Ontology (GO) function analysis showed that 16 proteins were involved in cellular metabolism and 22 were proteins related to catalytic activity,including protein folding or ***-GO networks indicated that VCP could interact with the ERS marker HSPa5,with both involved in a single *** inhibition of podocyte VCP by RNAi under normal conditions,the HSPa5 expression level did not change,but when the cell was subjected to ERS by tunicamycin,HSPa5 expression significantly increased with RNAi of VCP when compared with the tunicamycin-treated *** results showed that ERS plays an important role in podocyte injury of membranous nephropathy and is mediated by an HSPa5-VCP signaling pathway,in which the most predominant proteins are those related to cellular metabolism and catalytic activity.
