Establishment and validation of health vulnerability and adaptation indices under extreme weather events on the basis of the 2016 flood in Anhui province,China

Climate change could intensify extreme weather events,such as flooding,which amplifies the public health threat of waterborne ***,assessing health vulnerability and adaptation(V&A)could facilitate nationally effective responses to extreme climate ***,related studies are still negligible,and the assessment urgently needs to be validated with actual health data after extreme weather *** established health V&A indices through literature review and factor ***,we separately mapped the spatial distribution of flood exposure,social and public health sensitivity,and adaptive capacity before the 2016 flood in Anhui province and compared it with post-flood diarrhea risks by using the geographic information system method to assess health ***,we validated the indices by exploring the relationship between health V&A indices and post-flood diarrhea risks by using the quantile regression *** revealed that health V&A can be framed and categorized as key components of exposure,sensitivity,and adaptive *** remarkable differences in the spatial distribution of health vulnerability were generally consistent with the demographic sensitivity,geographic flooding exposure,and post-flood diarrhea risks in *** addition,health V&A indices exerted significant positive impacts on infectious diarrhea post-flooding at all quantiles and were significant across different ***,the impacts of flood exposure on total infectious diarrhea were high and continuous,whereas the impacts of sensitivity were not obvious in the flood's early stage(Coeff=0.643;p<0.001)but high in the flood's middle(Coeff=0.997;p<0.001)and late stages(Coeff=0.975;p<0.001).However,the impacts of adaptive capacity were heterogeneous and high in the flood's early stage(Coeff=0.665;p<0.001 at the 25th percentile)and late stage(Coeff=1.296;p<0.001 at the 75th percentile)but were insignificant at the 50th *** study contributed va

Effective colour modulation of upconversion emissions in lanthanide-doped nanomaterials becomes even more important for fundamental and applied ***,on the one hand,by raising the content of doped Yb^(3+)from 10 mol%to 50 mol%,a significant increase of the red/green emission ratio from 4.0 to 68.2 is observed in K_(2)NaScF_(6):Yb/Er *** yellow to red colour change is attributed to the increased cross relaxation between Er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)caused by the increased Yb^(3+)amount,^(4) S_(3/2)(Er^(3+))^(+2) F7/2(Yb^(3+))→4 I13/2(Er^(3+))^(+2) F5/2(Yb^(3+)).On the other hand,the upconversion green and red emission of K_(2)NaScF_(6):Yb/Er(20/2 mol%)nanocrystals are intensified 10.6 and 8.8 folds,respectively,after an active shell(K_(2)NaScF_(6):Yb)is epitaxially grown,which are more effective than the7.4-and 6.4-fold enhancement from an inert shell(K_(2)NaScF_(6))***,the shell thickness from2.85 to 9.5 nm through controlling the molar ratio of shell-precursor to core from 1:2 to 3:1 can be easily *** study will provide more opportunities for the application of K_(2)NaScF_(6):Yb/Ln nanoparticles in varied fields such as theranostics,photovoltaics,and photocatalysis.

Association of glycosylated hemoglobin level with lipid ratio and individual lipids in type 2 diabetic patients

Objective:To study the correlation of lipid ratios and individual lipid indexes of patients with type 2 diabetes with glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA_(1c)).Methods:Samples were collected from 128 type 2 diabetic patients(aged 19-90 years;male 72,female 56).The sera were analyzed for HbA_(1c),total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C).According to the HbA_(1e) level,the patients were divided into three groups,group A(HbA_(?)10%,n=49).The correlation of HbA_(1c)with lipid ratios & individual lipid indexes were ***:With the increased level of HbA(1c),LDL-C had a significantly increasing trend(P<0.05);whereas TC went up with the increased HbA(1c),without any significant differences between three *** was no significant correlation between HbA_(1c) and TG or HDL-C. With the increased level of HbA_(1c),TC/HDL-C,LDL-C/HDL-C ratios were gradually increased, with significant differences among groups(P<0.05).The lipid ratios,especially LDL-C/HDL-C ratio was more susceptible to impaired lipid metabolism in T2DM patients than individual lipid. Conclusions:LDL-C/HDL-C ratio is helpful in assessing and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease caused by impaired lipid metabolism in type 2 diabetic patients.

Synthesis of tetracycline analogs and their bone affinities

Tetracycline analogs were designed and synthesized and their bone affinities were tested on hydroxyapatite. The results showed that the carbonyl-amide-enol structure in A ring and phenol-ketone structure in BCD ring may be responsible for tetracycline＇s high bone affinity and either A ring or BCD ring has a planar conformation is essential. 2007 ling ling Weng. Analysis of secondary throughput and optimization in cooperative spectrum sensing

In cooperative spectrum sensing, more secondary user makes more opportunity for detecting the vacant spectrums, which resulting the spectrum utilization improved, however much bandwidth would be occupied for sending the local observation results, inducing the reduced secondary throughput. In this paper, an adaptive algorithm for selecting detection threshold was proposed, where the maximized secondary throughput can always be achieved while assuring sufficient protection to primary user, regardless of the number of sensing users in cognitive radio networks. Theoretical analysis and simulation results validate the proposed scheme.

Removal of Arsenic(V) from Aqueous Solutions by Lanthanum-loaded Zeolite

A new adsorption process for the removal of As（V） ion from aqueous solutions is studied in this paper using lanthanum-loaded zeolite. The removal efficiency of different adsorbents, activated alumina and activated carbon are obtained in the study for comparison. The results show that lanthanum-loaded zeolite is an effective adsorbent for the removal of As（V） from aqueous solutions. Then, the pH effect and regeneration of modified zeolite on the As（V） removing efficiency are also assessed. It functions with a wide range of pH （2-8）. After adsorption, zeolite adsorbed with As（V） ions can be regenerated successfully with 1 M NaOH. Based on the data obtained, an adsorption mechanism and the possible complex structure are tentatively presented. Compare to other adsorbents, easy availability of this adsorbent, excellent adsorption capacity, wide optimum pH range, and regeneration are expected to be utilized in practical operations.

Synthesis, bioactivity and functional evaluation of linker-modified allatostatin analogs as potential insect growth regulators

Insect growth regulators play an important role in integrated pest management *** FGLa–allatostatins（ASTs）are a family of neuropeptides that can inhibit juvenile hormone（JH）biosynthesis by the corpora allata（CA）of Diploptera punctata in vitro,are regarded as insect growth regulator *** the search for new potential mimics and to explore the effect of linker length on inhibiting JH biosynthesis,a series of AST analogs were synthesized by modifying the linker of K24,which was found to have a significant effect on JH biosynthesis in vitro in our previous *** evaluation demonstrated that all the target compounds can activate the Dippu-Ast R,albeit with different *** L6 with the longest linker（n=5）,exhibited not only a promising effect on inhibition of JH biosynthesis both in vitro and in vivo,but also good activity in inhibiting basal oocyte ***–activity relationships（SAR）studies showed that longer linkers provided greater contribution to activity.
