Exploring cost-effective catalysts with high catalytic performance and long-term stability has always been a general concern for environment protection and energy ***,Au nanoparticles(NPs)embedded CuOx-CeO2 core/shell nanospheres(Au@CuOx-CeO2 CSNs)have been successfully prepared through a versatile one-pot method at ambient *** spontaneous auto-redox reaction between HAuCl4 and Ce(OH)3 in aqueous solution triggered the self-assembly growth of micro-/nanostructural Au@CuOx-CeO2 ***,the CuOx clusters in Au@CuOx-CeO2 CSNs are capable of improving the anti-sintering ability of Au NPs and providing synergistic catalysis *** a result,the confined Au NPs exhibited extraordinary thermal stability even at a harsh thermal condition up to 700℃.In addition,before and after the severe calcination process,Au@CuOx-CeO2 CSNs can exhibit enhanced catalytic activity and excellent recyclability towards the hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol compared to previously reported *** synergistic catalysis path between Au/CuOx/CeO2 triphasic interfaces was revealed by density functional theory(DFT)*** CuOx clusters around the embedded Au NPs can provide moderate adsorption strength of p-nitrophenol,while the adjacent CeO2-supported Au NPs can facilitate the hydrogen dissociation to form H*species,which contributes to achieve the efficient reduction of *** study opens up new possibilities for developing high-efficient and sintering-resistant micro-/nanostructural nanocatalysts by exploiting multiphasic systems.

Metabolic syndrome vs. its components for prediction of cardiovascular mortality： A cohort study in Chinese elderly adults

Objective The predictive value of the metabolic syndrome （MetS） for mortality from all-cause and cardiovascular disease （CVD） in the Chinese population is unclear. The aim of this present study was to compare MetS with its individual components as predictors of mortality in Chinese elderly adults. Methods A cohort of 1,535 subjects （994 men and 541 women） aged 50 years or older was selected from employees of a machinery factory in 1994 and followed until 2009. Cox models were used to estimate the hazard ratios （HRs） predicted by MetS according to the harmonized defmition and by its individual components. Results The baseline prevalence of MetS was 28.0% in men and 48.4% in women. During a median follow-up of 15 years, 414 deaths occurred, of these, 153 participants died from CVD. Adjusted for age and gender, the HRs of mortality from all-cause and CVD in participants with MetS were 1.47 （95% confidence interval （CI）： 1.20-1.80） and 1.96 （95%CI： 1.42-2.72）, respectively, compared with those without MetS. Non-significant higher risk of CVD mortality was seen in those with one or two individual components （HR = 1.22, 95%CI： 0.59-2.50; fir = 1.82, 95%CI： 0.91-3.64, respectively）, while a substantially higher risk of CVD mortality only appeared in those with 3, 4, or 5 components （H_R = 2.81-3.72）, compared with those with no components. On evaluating the MetS components individually, we found that, independent of MetS, only hypertension and impaired glucose predicted higher mortality. Conclusions The number of positive MetS components seems no more informative than classifying （dichotomous） MetS for CVD risks assessment in this Chinese cohort.

An analysis on the effect of mining height and floor lithology on pressure relief of upper protective layers

In order to understand the effect of mining height and floor lithology at the upper protective layer face on the pressure relief of protected coal seams, this paper uses a numerical simulation method to model the pressure changes at protected coal seam during mining upper protective layer. The results show that the taller the mining height at the upper protective layer face, the greater the protection on protected coal seam due to the higher level of pressure release; the upper protective layer face with hard rock floor impedes the pressure release at the protected coal seam, which affects the overall effect of the pressure release at protected coal seam using the protective layer mining method.

On-line chemical characterization of atmospheric particulate matter(PM)with soft ionization technique and ultrahigh-resolution Mass Spectrometry(UHRMS)provides molecular information of organic constituents in real *** we describe the development and application of an automatic measurement system that incorporates PM_(2.5)sampling,thermal desorption,atmospheric pressure photoionization,and UHRMS *** formulas of detected organic compounds were deducted from the accurate(±10 ppm)molecular weights obtained at a mass resolution of 100,000,allowing the identification of small organic compounds in PM_(2.5).Detection efficiencies of 28 standard compounds were determined and we found a high sensitivity and selectivity towards organic amines with limits of detection below 10 *** a proof of principle,PM_(2.5)samples collected off-line in winter in the urban area of Beijing were analyzed using the Ionization Module and HRMS of the *** automatic system was then applied to conduct on-line measurements during the summer time at a time resolution of 2 *** detected organic compounds comprised mainly CHON and CHN compounds below 350 m/*** seasonal variations in elemental composition were observed with shorter carbon backbones and higher O/C ratios in summer than that in *** result is consistent with stronger photochemical reactions and thus a higher oxidation state of organics in *** variation in signal intensity of each formula provides crucial information to reveal its source and formation *** summary,the automatic measurement system serves as an important tool for the on-line characterization and identification of organic species in PM_(2.5).

Thermal stress causes the overproduction and toxic accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS),which seems to be correlated with coral bleaching and,ultimately,*** reduction of ROS concentration within the coral holobiont could minimize the effects of thermal stress and support efforts to reduce coral decline *** the current study,we explored the physiological responses of Pocillopora damicornis to ROS-scavenging bacteria inoculation as well as the microbiome restructuring that correlates with ***’s resilience to thermal stress after probiotic *** of corals with ROS-scavenging bacteria enhanced coral health and reduced ROS ***,the enhanced coral thermal resistance promoted by ROS-scavenging bacteria was also correlated with an overall coral microbiome *** addition,the complex network relationships between bacteria and Symbiodiniaceae in corals after ROS-scavenging bacteria inoculation contributed to corals’resilience to high ***,coral heat tolerance bacterial biomarkers,such as Myxococcota,were enriched in corals with added ROS-scavenging ***,our findings validate the selected ROS-scavenging bacteria as coral probiotics that could help corals resist thermal stress on a short ***,our data contribute to our understanding of the potential interactions between different members of the coral holobiont and the use of probiotics as tools to aid coral restoration efforts.

A New Method for Solving Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations Based on Liquid Time-Constant Networks

In this paper,physics-informed liquid networks(PILNs)are proposed based on liquid time-constant networks(LTC)for solving nonlinear partial differential equations(PDEs).In this approach,the network state is controlled via ordinary differential equations(ODEs).The significant advantage is that neurons controlled by ODEs are more expressive compared to simple activation *** addition,the PILNs use difference schemes instead of automatic differentiation to construct the residuals of PDEs,which avoid information loss in the neighborhood of sampling *** this method draws on both the traveling wave method and physics-informed neural networks(PINNs),it has a better physical ***,the KdV equation and the nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation are solved to test the generalization ability of the *** the best of the authors’knowledge,this is the first deep learning method that uses ODEs to simulate the numerical solutions of PDEs.

We investigate the asymptotic stability of the solutions to Boussinesq equations without heat conduction with the initial data near a specific stationary solution in the three-dimensional domain Ω=R^(2)×(0,1).It is shown that the solution starting from a small perturbation to the stationary solution converges to it with explicit algebraic rates as time tends to infinity.

Direct numerical simulation of shock wave/boundary layer interaction controlled by steady microjet in a compression ramp

Shock wave/boundary layer interaction in a 24°turning angle of the compression ramp at Mach number 2.9 controlled by steady microjet is investigated using direct numerical *** different jet spacings which are termed as sparse,moderate and dense are considered,and the induced vortex system and shock structures are compared.A moderate jet spacing configuration is found to generate counter-rotating vortex pairs that transport high-momentum fluid towards the vicinity of wall and strengthen the boundary layer to resist separation,reducing the separation *** dense jet spacing configuration creates a larger momentum deficit region,reducing the friction downstream of the *** of pressure and pressure gradient reveals that dense jet spacing configuration reduces the intensity of separation *** impact of varying jet spacings on the turbulent kinetic energy transport mechanism is also investigated by decomposing the budget terms in the transport ***,the spectral characteristics of the separation region are studied using power spectral density and dynamic mode decomposition methods,revealing that moderate jet spacing configuration suppresses low-frequency fluctuations in the separation region.

Multilayer polyethylene separator with enhanced thermal properties for safe lithium-ion batteries Author links open overlay panel

The separator plays an important part in battery safety and *** separators are widely used in commercial Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),owing to their excellent properties,but they suffer from serious thermal shrinkage and poor electrolyte ***,a multilayer separator(ASPESA)is developed by coating two thin layers of low-density polyethylene(LDPE)and Al_(2)O_(3)on both sides of a polyethylene membrane using a facile and environmentally friendly casting *** ASPESA separator demonstrates a shutdown function at 120℃and shows enhanced thermal stability under 185℃,with a small thermal shrinkage of 1%.Meanwhile,the LDPE and Al_(2)O_(3)layers can improve the electrolyte wettability and electrolyte uptake(407.23%).The multilayer ASPESA separator delivers an excellent cycle performance in LiFePO_(4)||Li cells with a discharge capacity of 144.5 mAh g^(-1)after 900 cycles,with a high-capacity retention of 98.9%(compared to the 5th cycle).Therefore,the multilayer ASPESA separator has great utilization potential as a high-safety separator in LIBs.
