Backgroun.: Ren.l failure is am.n. the m.jor visceral failures respon.ible for m.rbid.ty an. m.rtality in.child.en. Epid.m.ological d.ta on.ren.l failure in.child.en.are lim.ted.in.sub-Saharan.Africa, in.lud.n. Sen.gal. We con.ucted.this stud. to assess the prevalen.e of ren.l failure (RF) an. the n.ed.for d.alysis in.the paed.atric n.phrology un.t. Patien.s an. m.thod.: This was a retrospective an. d.scriptive stud. in.the ped.atric n.phrology un.t from.1st Jan.ary 2020 to 30 Jun. 2021, in.lud.n. child.en.with acute or chron.c RF. The n.ed.for d.alysis was jud.ed.to be m.t by its effectiven.ss in.face of an.in.ication. The d.ta collected.were an.lysed.on.sphin. plus 2017 software. Results: The prevalen.e of RF was 60% (n.n.= 132/220). RF was acute in.59% (n.n.= 78/132) of cases. The m.an.age was 6.53 ± 4.77 years with a sex ratio of 1.8. The m.an.serum.creatin.n. level was 27.22 m./L (240.9 μm.l/L) an. BUn.at 0.85 g/L. The aetiologies were d.m.n.ted.by preren.l AKI (Acute Kid.0}y In.ury) com.licatin. n.phrotic syn.rom. (n.) in.37.2% (n.n.= 29/78) an. d.hyd.ation.d.e to stom.ch flu in.17.6% (n.n.= 9/51). Acute post-in.ectious glom.rulon.phritis in.lud.n. group A streptococcus an. plasm.d.um.falciparum.accoun.ed.for 16.7% (n.= 13/78) of in.rin.ic AKI. The n.ed.for d.alysis was un.et in.50% (n.n.= 7/14) with a m.rtality of 14.1% (n.n.= 11/78). The m.an.age of the patien.s with chron.c RF was 8.68 ± 4.74 years with a sex ratio of 2.6. The m.an.serum.creatin.n. level was 36.56 m./L (323.5 μm.l/L) an. the BUn.level was 0.99 g/L. Half of the child.en.were classified.as havin. CKd.stage II (early stage). The aetiologies were d.m.n.ted.by prim.ry focal an. segm.n.al glom.rulosclerosis (FSGS), 53.7% (n.n.= 29/54), ren.l hypoplasia, 22.2% (n.n.= 12/54) an. reflux n.phropathy, 29.4% (n.n.= 5/17). The n.ed.for d.alysis was un.et in.46.1% (n.n.= 6/13). The overall m.rtality of chron.c kid.0}y d.sease (CKd. with RF was 29.6% (n.n.= 8/27). Con.lusion. The prevalen.e of RF was high i

This stud. aim.d.to in.estigate the effect of yam flour substitution.(d.oscorea alata L.) an. m.rin.a powd.r in.wheat bread.on.glycem.c respon.e. Glycem.c in.ex (GI) an. glycem.c load.(GL) of pieces of bread.were d.term.n.d. A m.xture plan.d.sign.was used.to d.term.n. the optim.l form.lation.of bread.m.d. of yam flour, wheat flour an. m.rin.a powd.r. The m.xture of 79.4% soft wheat flour, 20% yam flour an. 0.6% m.rin.a leaves powd.r has a good.poten.ial in.bread.preparation.an. was used.in.this stud.. 100% wheat bread.was used.as con.rol. Postpran.ial blood.glucose respon.e (glycem.c respon.e) was evaluated.with the glucose used.as a referen.e food. Blood.glucose respon.es were m.asured.at d.fferen. in.ervals for 2 hours. The results in.icated.that com.osite bread.had.low GI an. GL values than.wheat bread. Values are GI = 80 an. GL = 61.2 for wheat bread.an. GI = 37.78 an. GL = 29.65 for the com.osite bread. This stud. d.m.n.trated.that the in.lusion.of yam flour of m.rin.a leaves powd.r in.bread.prod.ction.m.ght n.t pose a threat to blood.glucose respon.e com.ared.to wheat bread. The sam.le con.isted.of 28 fem.le patien.s with com.lain.s of gluteus or abd.m.n.striae an. d.vid.d.in.o 2 equitable groups, n.m.d.G1 (sem.-ablative RFF without active prin.iple association. an. G2 (sem.-ablative RFF with active prin.iple association., bein. subd.vid.d.in.o G-1A an. G-2A (abd.m.n.l application.) an. G-1B an. G-2B (gluteus application.). A photographic an. histological an.lysis was perform.d.usin. question.aires about in.lam.ation. presen.e of ad.erse effects an. satisfaction.of volun.eers. Photographic an.lysis showed.a red.ction.in.the am.un. of striae alba in.all groups. n.>Results:n.> The histological an.lysis showed.an.in.rease in.fibroblast activity, collagen.type I, an. blood.vessels, especially in.the groups that associated.the RFF with the active prin.iple. In.the in.lam.ation.an.lysis, the groups that perform.d.in.erven.ion.with active in.red.en.s showed.lower in.lam.atory sign.l. All groups had.a reason.ble level of satisfaction.after the in.erven.ion.;however, the group that used.active in.red.en.s reported.greater results. n.>Con.lusion.n.> The association.of sem. ablative RFF with growth factors showed.a red.ction.in.clin.cal in.lam.atory sign., m.in.y in.the first 15 d.ys, as well as higher collagen.prod.ction. verified.in.30 d.ys, with satisfactory clin.cal results in.all groups.
