Dynamic Analysis of Supply and Demand Coupling of Ecosystem Services in Loess Hilly Region:A Case Study of Lanzhou,China

The relationship between the supply and demand for ecosystem services(ESs)is a key issue for the rational allocation of natural resources and optimisation of sustainable development *** paper investigateed the dynamic evolution features of supply and demand of four ESs in Lanzhou of China,namely,water supply,food supply,carbon fixation and soil retention *** crosssectional data of 2005 and 2017 were used for calculating ESs value and its supply and demand through ArcGIS software,InVEST model,elastic coefficient model and coupling coordination *** showed that:1)from 2005 to 2017,the supply of water supply services increased,the demand of soil retention services decreased,and the supply and demand of food supply and carbon fixation services *** high-value areas of service supply were mainly distributed in the rocky mountain areas in the southeast and northwest with high vegetation coverage,while the high-value areas of demand were mainly distributed in the urban areas and surrounding areas with high population density.2)There were five different types of coupling *** supply service was dominated by a negative coupling type D,which means that the decrease in demand for ESs has had a positive response on the supply of *** coupling type C was the main type of food supply and carbon fixation services,which means that the increase in demand for ESs has had a negative response on the supply of *** three services were supplemented by a positive coupling type A,which means that the increase in demand for ESs has had a positive response on the supply of *** retention service generally exhibits a positive coupling type B,which means that the decrease in demand for ESs has had a negative response on the supply of ESs.3)Over the past 12 yr,the coordination degree of supply and demand of water supply,food supply and soil retention services decreased,and the coordination degree of carbon fixation service increased

The tradeoff between efficiency and model size of the convolutional neural network(CNN)is an essential issue for applications of CNN-based algorithms to diverse real-world *** deep learning-based methods have achieved significant improvements in image super-resolution(SR),current CNNbased techniques mainly contain massive parameters and a high computational complexity,limiting their practical *** this paper,we present a fast and lightweight framework,named weighted multi-scale residual network(WMRN),for a better tradeoff between SR performance and computational *** the modified residual structure,depthwise separable convolutions(DS Convs)are employed to improve convolutional operations’***,several weighted multi-scale residual blocks(WMRBs)are stacked to enhance the multi-scale representation *** the reconstruction subnetwork,a group of Conv layers are introduced to filter feature maps to reconstruct the final high-quality *** experiments were conducted to evaluate the proposed model,and the comparative results with several state-of-the-art algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of WMRN.

High-performance phosphate supported on HZSM-5 catalyst for dehydration of glycerol to acrolein

The purpose of this study is to increase acrolein yield and capability of coking resistance in the reaction of glycerol dehydration to acrolein by assembling metal phosphate supported on HZSM-5 catalyst. The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, BET, NH_3-TPD, CO_2-TPD and Py-IR techniques. It was found that metal phosphate species were incorporated into the porous structure of HZSM-5 zeolites, thus influencing the surface and textural physico-chemical properties of the supporters. The alkaline-treated HZSM-5 catalyst promoted the dispersion of phosphate species on the carriers. Moreover, the amount of strong acidity was tremendously improved by adding the different metal hydrophosphates and the catalysts show high catalytic activity. In this present work, the Sn1/4 H_2PO_4/HZSM-5 catalyst exhibited good performance in the catalytic activity and coking resistant ability, which resulted in a high acrolein yield of 83% initially and acrolein yield of 68% after 30 h. The acidity, especially the ratio of strong to weak acid, plays an important role in promoting acrolein yield and stability simultaneously.

Perforated nitrogen-rich graphene-like carbon nanolayers supported Cu-In catalyst for boosting CO_(2) electroreduction to CO

The combination of a powerful CO_(2)-enriching carrier and robust active component provides a new idea for the construction of efficient catalysts for electrocatalytic CO_(2)***,novel perforated nitrogen-rich graphene-like carbon nanolayers(PNGC)are prepared from biomass derivatives,which promotes the oriented deposition of In-doped Cu_(2)(OH)_(3)(NO_(3))nanosheet patches.A robust Cu-In/PNGC composite catalyst is then obtained via simple in-situ electrochemical ***,CuIn/PNGC exhibits a CO Faradaic efficiency(FECO)of 91.3%and a remarkable CO partial current density(jCO)of 136.4 m A cm^(-2)at a moderate overpotential of 0.59 V for electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).DFT calculations and experimental studies indicate that the strong carrier effect of PNGC makes PNGC carried Cu-In nanosheets improved the adsorption capacity of CO_(2)gas,reconfigured electronic structure,and reduced free energy of key intermediate formation,thereby the CO_(2)activation and conversion are promoted.

Identification of QTLs and Validation of qCd-2 Associated with Grain Cadmium Concentrations in Rice

Cadmium(Cd) is one of heavy metals harmful to human health. As rice is the main staple food in Asia and Cd is easily contaminated in rice, the molecular regulation of Cd accumulation should be explored. In this study, a recombinant inbred population derived from Xiang 743/Katy was grown in Cd-polluted fields and used to map the quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for Cd accumulation in rice grains. We identified seven QTLs distributed on chromosomes 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 10. These QTLs displayed phenotypic variances of 58.50% and 40.59% in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Two QTLs, qCd-2 and qCd-7, were identified in both the two years. qCd-2 was detected on the interval of RM250–RM207 on chromosome 2, with an LOD of 2.51 and a phenotypic contribution of 13.75% in 2014, and an LOD of 3.35 and a phenotypic contribution of 14.16% in 2015. qCd-7 co-localized with the cloned qCdT7 on chromosome 7 and may represent the correct candidate. The other five QTLs were detected only in one year. To further confirm the effects of qCd-2, a residual heterozygous line designated as RHL945, with a heterozygous interval of RM263–RM207 on chromosome 2, was selected from the recombinant inbred population and used to develop an F2 population consisting of 155 individual plants. By incorporating further simple sequence repeat markers into the segmental linkage map of the target region, qCd-2 was delimited in the interval of RM5404–RM3774, with an LOD value of 4.38 and a phenotypic contribution of 15.52%. These results reflected the genetic regulation of grain Cd in rice and paved the way for the future cloning of qCd-2.

A new method called ultrasonic-assisted membrane reaction(UAMR)was reported for the fabrication of ceria-zirconia solid solution.A series of ceria-zirconia solid solutions with different Ce/Zr molar ratios were prepared by the UAMR method and characterized by Xray diffraction(XRD),N2 adsorption,hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction(H2-TPR),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)*** UAMR method proved to be superior,especially when the Ce/Zr molar ratio was lower than 1,in fabricating ceria-zirconia solid solutions with large BET surface area,high oxygen storage capacity(OSC),and low reduction temperature.
