Experimental studies on the Danxia landscape morphogenesis in Mt. Danxiashan, South china

The formation of Danxia landscapes is too slow to be observed in our life time and the paleoclimates in which Danxia landscapes developed are significantly different from the present. T{2.s, this study adopted experimental approaches to examine the lithological and paleoclimatic control on the formation of various landscape morphologies in the Mt. Danxiashan, South china. A total of 12. rock samples were collected from a range of Danxia landscape morphologies such as white spots, small and large through caves, honeycomb caves, horizontal grooves, natural bridges, stone pillars, and squama stones. Analyses of the collected samples were conducted in different kinds of experiments, including uniaxial mechanical strength testing; rock resistance against sulfuric acid erosion, freezing, and thawing; X-ray fluorescence spectrometry（XRF） analysis; inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry（ICP-MS） analysis; and identification analysis under a polarizing microscope. The results indicated that the formation of the various Danxia landscape morphologies could result from one or more of the following processes： differential erosion due to lithological difference, chemical dissolution and recrystallization, freezing and thawing actions, acid corrosion, weathering, lateral erosion of river flows, and tectonic uplifts. Water erosion in {2.mid monsoon climate and the alternations of intensive freezing and thawing actions in the quaternary glacial stages and the interglacial stages could have had great influences on the formation of Danxia landscape topographies.

Osteopontin gene polymorphism in association with systemic lupus erythematosus in Chinese patients

Background Osteopontin （OPN） is one kind of cytokine which can play a number of roles in promoting activation of T lymphocyte, regulating balance between Thl and Th2. participating in cell-induced immunologic response and stimulating B lymphocyte to express multi-clone antibodies. Some researches have showed that OPN may be involved in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus （SLE）. The aim of this study was to investigate possible association of a single nucleotide polymorphism （SNP） at position 92.0 in exon 7 of the OPN gene （OPN gene 92.0） with SLE in Chinese patients. Methods Totally 158 patients （18 males and 140 females） fulfilled the revised criteria for SLE by the American college of Rheumatology in 1982.and 180 healthy volunteer controls （34 males and 146 females）, all from the south of china, con{2.ted to participate in the study. OPN gene 92.0 polymorphism was detected by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP）. Results The frequency of ＂IT genotype of the OPN gene 92.0 was significantly lower （52.5% vs 70%, P〈0.05） and the frequency of TC genotype of the OPN gene 92.0 was significantly higher （43.7% vs 2..4%, P〈0.05） in SLE patients than in controls. There were significant differences in OPN gene 92.0 allele and phenotype frequencies between the SLE patients and controls （P〈0.05）. When the SLE patients and controls were separated into men and women, significant differences of frequencies were noted in TT genotype, TC genotype and allele of the OPN gene 92.0 in women （P〈0.05） but not in men （P〉0.05）. Conclusions OPN gene 92.0 polymorphism appears to be associated with susceptibility to SLE in Chinese Han ethnic population.

Using e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).The fit fractions of individual components are obtained,and large interferences among the dominant components of the decays D^(0)→a_(1)(12.0)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2.ππ)_(S)are observed in both *** the obtained amplitude model,the CP-even fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2.1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,*** branching fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to be(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.02._(stat.)±0.02._(syst.))%,*** amplitude analysis provides an important model for the binning strategy in measuring the strong phase parameters of D^(0)→4πwhen used to determine the CKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via the B^(−)→DK^(−)decay.

下颈椎椎弓根螺钉具有良好的生物力学稳定性、抗拔出强度,被广泛应用于治疗颈椎创伤、退变等疾患。但颈椎解剖结构复杂,毗邻诸多重要结构,螺钉误置易造成严重并发症。导航、机器人目前已被广泛应用于辅助胸腰椎椎弓根螺钉固定,但辅助下颈椎椎弓根固定尚处于探索阶段,加之辅助置钉存在一定难度,不规范操作易导致辅助手术失败。目前国内外未见导航和机器人辅助下颈椎手术的指南或专家共识。为了规范该项技术的操作,中国医师协会骨科医师分会脊柱创伤学组组织有关专家,基于循证医学证据,制订《导航和机器人辅助下颈椎椎弓根螺钉固定手术操作指南(2.2.版)》,就导航和机器人辅助下颈椎椎弓根螺钉手术的适应证和禁忌证、术前准备、术中操作和常见问题及防止措施等方面提出10条推荐意见,为各级医院规范地开展该手术提供参考。

Abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism in COVID-19 patients were recently reported with unclear *** this study,we retrospectively investigated a cohort of COVID-19 patients without pre-existing metabolic-related diseases,and found new-onset in suli n resista nee,hyperglycemia,and decreased HDL-C in these patie *** nistically,SARS-CoV-2.infecti on in creased the expression of RE1-silencing transcription factor(REST),which modulated the expression of secreted metabolic factors including myeloperoxidase,apelin,and myostatin at the transcriptional level,resulting in the perturbation of glucose and lipid ***,several lipids,including(±)5-HETE,(±)12.HETE,propionic acid,and isobutyric acid were identified as the potential biomarkers of COVID-19-induced metabolic dysregulation,especially in insulin *** together,our study revealed insulin resistance as the direct cause of hyperglycemia upon COVID-19,and further illustrated the underlying mechanisms,providing potential therapeutic targets for COVID-19-induced metabolic complications.

Aging biomarkers are a combination of biological parameters to(i)assess age-related changes,(ii)track the physiological aging process,and(iii)predict the transition into a pathological *** a broad spectrum of aging biomarkers has been developed,their potential uses and limitations remain poorly *** immediate goal of biomarkers is to help us answer the following three fundamental questions in aging research:How old are we?Why do we get old?And how can we age slower?This review aims to address this ***,we summarize our current knowledge of biomarkers developed for cellular,organ,and organismal levels of aging,comprising six pillars:physiological characteristics,medical imaging,histological features,cellular alterations,molecular changes,and secretory *** fulfill all these requisites,we propose that aging biomarkers should qualify for being specific,systemic,and clinically relevant.

Background： Over the years, the mechanical ventilation （MV） strategy has changed worldwide. The aim of the present study was to describe the ventilation practices, particularly lung-protective ventilation （LPV）, among brain-injured patients in china. Methods： This study was a multicenter, 1-day, cross-sectional study in 47 Intensive Care Units （ICUs） across china. Mechanically ventilated patients （18 years and older） with brain injury in a participating ICU during the time of the study, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, postoperation with intracranial tumor, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, intracranial infection, and idiopathic epilepsy, were enrolled. Demographic data, primary diagnoses, indications for MV, MV modes and settings, and prognoses on the 60th day were collected. Multivariable logistic analysis was used to assess factors that might affect the use of LPV. Results： A total of 104 patients were enrolled in the present study, 87 （83.7%） of whom were identified with severe brain injury based on a Glasgow Coma Scale 〈8 points. Synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation （SIMV） was the most frequent ventilator mode, accounting for 46.2. of the entire cohort. The median tidal volume was set to 8.0 ml/kg （interquartile range [IQR], 7.0-8.9 ml/kg） of the predicted body weight; 50 （48.1%） patients received LPV. The median positive end-expiratory pressure （PEEP） was set to 5 cmH2. （IQR, 5-5 cmH2.）. No PEEP values were higher than 10 cmH2.. Compared with partially mandatory ventilation, supportive and spontaneous ventilation practices were associated with LPV. There were no significant differences in mortality and MV duration between patients subjected to LPV and those were not. Conclusions： Among brain-injured patients in china, SIMV was the most frequent ventilation mode. Nearly one-half of the brain-injured patients received LPV. Patients under supportive and spontaneous ventilation were more likely to receive LPV.
