Characterization of Zm26Sub5 and Its Potential Roles in Regulating Pollen Fertility of S-CMS in Maize

Mitochondrial orf355-orf77 and the nuclear fertility restorer locus Rf3/rf3 mutually control the fertility of male gametes in CMS-S in maize （Zea mays L.）. A fragment of gene Zm26Sub5 was identified through cDNA-AFLP from a set of Rf3/rf3 near-isogenic lines in a previous study. In the present study, real-time PCR analysis revealed that Zm26Sub5 expression levels were much higher in pollen of S-Mo17Rf3Rf3 than in pollen of S-Mo17rf3rf3, and also higher than in fresh leaves, mature leaves, and roots of both S-Mo17Rf3Rf3 and S-Mo17rf3rf3. In silico cloning of full-length cDNA was successfully implemented. Gene Zm26Sub5 was 1 451 bp in size, of which 1 329 bp encoded a protein with 443 amino acids. The structure of this gene was analyzed by comparing its full length cDNA to homologous genomic DNA sequence （GenBank accession： Ac209463.3）. Subsequent sequence analysis led to sub cellular localization of protein ZM26SUB5, and construction of a phylogenetic tree. In silico mapping indicated that Zm26Sub5 was located on chromosome 5 and closed to a reported starch-filled pollen ratio QTL. ZM26SUB5, therefore might have potential roles in repressing mitochondrial PCD which is associated with sterile activity in pollen in S-type cytoplasm.

The interaction between cancer cells and M2 tumor-associated macrophages(M2-TAMs)facilitates tumor growth and ***,cancer cells and M2-TAMs have different spatial distribution patterns,which requires distinct drug delivery ***,based on different tumor-penetrating ability of nanocarriers,we developed a combinatory strategy that consists of a TAMs-targeting liposome(alanine-alanine-asparagine(AAN)-Lip-regorafenib(Rego))and a cancer cells-targeting copolymer(internalizing RGD modified with N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide-doxorubicin(iRGD-HD)).Our study confirmed AAN-Lip-Rego accumulated at perivascular sites where M2-TAM is located,while iRGD-HD penetrated into deep site of tumor to enter cancer ***,we found iRGD-HD induced cancer cells undergoing immunogenic cell death to enhance tumor infiltration of CD8^(+)T ***,AAN-Lip-Rego efficiently repolarized TAMs from M2 into M1 to alleviate tumor immunosuppression,thus reviving CD8^(+)T ***,the repolarization of TAMs led to dramatic downregulation of prometastatic factors expressed on cancer *** a result,such combinatory approach elicited robust antitumor immune responses and generated considerable anti-tumor and anti-metastasis efficacy to markedly inhibit primary tumor and spontaneous lung metastasis.

Dear Editor, Liver transplantation(LT) is the only curative therapy for patients with endstage liver disease(He et al., 2023; Ling et al., 2022). Post-transplant hypertriglyceridemia(PTHT), which has an incidence of up to 32.8% in 6 months after LT, is one of the major post-transplant complications(Toshima et al., 2020).

Interstitial lung and liver disease(ILLD) is caused by biallelic mutations in the methionyl-tRNA synthetase(MARS) gene. To date, no genetic changes other than missense variants were reported in the literature. Here, we report a five-month old female infant with typical ILLD(failure to thrive, developmental delay, jaundice, diffuse interstitial lung disease, hepatomegaly with severe steatosis, anemia, and thrombocytosis) showing novel phenotypes such as kidney stones, acetabular dysplasia, prolonged fever, and extreme leukocytosis. Whole exome sequencing revealed a novel truncating variant(c.2158 C>T/***720 Stop) together with a novel tri-nucleotide insertion(c.893_894 insTCG that caused the insertion of an arginine at amino acid position 299) in the MARS gene.

In this paper, we consider the lifespan of solution to the MHD boundary layer system as an analytic perturbation of general shear flow. By using the cancellation mechanism in the system observed in [12], the lifespan of solution is shown to have a lower bound in the order of ε^(-2-) if the strength of the perturbation is of the order of ε. Since there is no restriction on the strength of the shear flow and the lifespan estimate is larger than the one obtained for the classical Prandtl system in this setting, it reveals the stabilizing effect of the magnetic field on the electrically conducting fluid near the boundary.

The title compound has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, NMR and thermal analyses, and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c with a = 2.3066（5）, b = 0.53320（ 11）, c = 2.3236（5） nm,β= 102.76（3）°, V = 2.7872（ 10） nm^3, Mr = 612.67, Z = 4, Dc = 1.460 g/cm^3, R = 0.0570 and wR = 0.1271. In the title compound, two 4-isoniazidylthioformyl units are bridged by S-S bond （0.2037（3） nm）. The Na ions are linked by O（4）, O（4A）, O（1） and O（1A） to form a one-dimensional hydration sodium coordination polymer. The Na ion is coordinated by a meridional arrangement of the six O atoms to assume a slightly distorted octahedron as a result of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The thermal analytical data indicate that it decomposes completely at the temperature of 609.26 ℃.

MXenes have captured extensive attention in various fields by virtue of unique hydrophilicity,high conductivity and tunable surface *** this review,the state-of-the-art progresses of designing functional MXenes have been ***,the synthesis methods of MXenes are summarized and classified into HF etching,in-situ HF etching and fluoride-free etching approaches based on the effect on the surface chemistry of ***,the factors that affect the surface termination groups are discussed,including synthesis methods,heat treatment temperature and ***,this review gives an overview of the synthetic routes of functional MXenes including termination modification by synthesis methods and heat treatment,heteroatom(N,S,or P)doping,cation and organic molecule intercalation and hybridization with polymer,which inhibit restacking and increase active sites for intrinsically enhancing the inherent physical and chemical properties of ***,the applications with respect to energy storage and conversion,catalysis,sensors,electromagnetic interference shielding and microwave absorption of functional MXenes are ***,the critical challenges and development prospects of functional MXenes are also highlighted.
