The influence of a mechanical structure's volume increment on the volume power density (VPD) of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) is often neglected when considering surface charge density and surface power density. This paper aims to address this gap by introducing a standardized VPD metric for a more comprehensive evaluation of TENG performance. The study specifically focuses on 2 frequency-up mechanisms, namely, the integration of planetary gears (PG-TENG) and the implementation of a double-cantilever structure (DC-TENG), to investigate their impact on VPD. The study reveals that the PG-TENG achieves the highest volume average power density, measuring at 0.92 W/m^(3). This value surpasses the DC-TENG by 1.26 times and the counterpart TENG by a magnitude of 69.9 times. Additionally, the PG-TENG demonstrates superior average power output. These findings introduce a new approach for enhancing TENGs by incorporating frequency-up mechanisms, and highlight the importance of VPD as a key performance metric for evaluating TENGs.

In[20],a semi-implicit spectral deferred correction(SDC)method was proposed,which is efficient for highly nonlinear partial differential equations(PDEs).The semi-implicit SDC method in[20]is based on first-order time integration methods,which are corrected iteratively,with the order of accuracy increased by one for each additional *** this paper,we will develop a class of semi-implicit SDC methods,which are based on second-order time integration methods and the order of accuracy are increased by two for each additional *** spatial discretization,we employ the local discontinuous Galerkin(LDG)method to arrive at fully-discrete schemes,which are high-order accurate in both space and *** experiments are presented to demonstrate the accuracy,efficiency and robustness of the proposed semi-implicit SDC methods for solving complex nonlinear PDEs.

The two-spotted spider mite,Tetranychus urticae Koch,is one of the most harmful pests in many agroecosystems *** effectively manage this pest,there is an urgent need to develop novel bio-active acaricides that support integrated pest management strategies targeting *** this study,we explored the acaricidal effects of xenocoumacin 1 (Xcn1) on *** and its predator Neoseiulus californicus using the highly puri?ed ***1 was extracted and purified from the cell-free supernatant of the Xenorhabdus nematophila CB6 mutant constructed by the easy promoter activated compound identi?cation (easyPACId) *** the concentration of Xcn1 exceeded 100μg mL~(–1),the survival rate of spider mite adults declined to below 40%and the fecundity was decreased by 80%at six days *** concentrations of 25 and 50μg mL~(–1),Xcn1 signi?cantly impeded spider mite development by inhibiting the ***,neither concentration had any adverse effects on the survival or reproduction of the predatory mite *** results from laboratory and semi-?eld experiments consistently demonstrated the effectiveness of the antimicrobial metabolite Xcn1 in controlling pest mites at both the molecular and physiological *** study offers a promising possibility that combines the compatible biocontrol agents of Xcn1 and predatory mites for integrated pest mite control.

Three-dimensional atom-probe tomography and first-principles calculation combined with density functional theory were used to study the effect of the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of S32205 duplex stainless steel on the Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and *** was found that the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of duplex stainless steel can also form Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and ***,Mo,Si,B,C and P atoms promote co-segregation with Cr atoms,which promotes the formation of Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and austenite in duplex stainless *** and Si strongly promote the segregation of Cr at the interface between ferrite and austenite,thereby promoting the formation of Cr-depleted zone.B,C and P elements also promote the segregation of Cr element at the interface between ferrite and austenite and the formation of Cr-depleted zone,but their effect is weaker than that of Mo and Si *** conclusions provide a new theoretical basis for improving the intergranular corrosion performance of duplex stainless steel.

High nickel content worsens the thermal stability of layered cathodes for lithium-ion batteries,raising safety concerns for their *** understanding the thermal failure process can offer valuable guidance for material optimization on thermal stability and new opportunities in monitoring battery thermal runaway(TR).Herein,this work comprehensively investigates the thermal failure process of a single-crystal nickel-rich layered cathode and finds that the latent thermal failure starts at∼120℃far below the TR temperature(225℃).During this stage of heat accumulation,sequential structure transition is revealed by atomic resolution electron microscopy,which follows the layered→cation mixing layered→liMn_(2)O_(4)-type spinel→disordered spinel→rock *** progression occurs as a result of the continuous migration and densification of transition metal *** transition generates gaseous oxygen,initially confined within the isolated closed pores,thereby not showing any thermal failure phenomena at the *** temperature leads to pore growth and coalescence,and eventually to the formation of open pores,causing oxygen gas release and weight loss,which are the typical TR *** highlight that latent thermal instability occurs before the macro-level TR,suggesting that suppressing phase transitions caused by early thermal instability is a crucial direction for material *** findings can also be used for early warning of battery thermal runaway.

Mythimna separata is a notorious phytophagous pest which poses serious threats to cereal crops owing to the gluttony of the *** short neuropeptide F(sNPF)and its receptor sNPFR are involved in a diversity of physiological functions,especially in functions related to feeding in insects,it is a molecular target for pest ***,an sNPF and 2 sNPFRs were identified and cloned from *** analysis revealed that the sNPF and its receptors had a highly conserved RLRFamide C-terminus and 7 transmembrane domains,*** sNPF and its receptor genes were distributed across larval periods and tissues,but 2 receptors had distinct expression *** starvation-induced assay elucidated that sNPF and sNPFR expression levels were downregulated under food deprivation and recovered with subsequent *** interference knockdown of sNPF,sNPFR1,and sNPFR2 by injection of double-stranded RNA into larvae not only suppressed food consumption and increased body size and weight,but also led to decrease of glycogen and total lipid contents,and increase of trehalose compared with double-stranded green fluorescent protein ***,molecular docking was performed on the interaction mode between sNPFR protein and its ligand sNPF based on the 3-dimensional models constructed by AlphaFold;the results indicated that both receptors were presumably activated by the mature peptide *** results revealed that sNPF signaling played a considerably vital role in the feeding regulation of *** and represents a potential control target for this pest.

Rhizobia induces nitrogen-ﬁxing nodules in legumes used in agricultural production,providing a direct source of combined nitrogen to leguminous *** peptides,such as CLAVATA3/EMBRYO SURROUNDING REGION peptides(CLE),are known to regulate the formation and development of nitrogen-ﬁxing nodules in *** meristem growth factor(RGF)peptides from Medicago truncatula not only regulate root develop-ment but also modulate nodulation symbiosis with Sinorhizobium ***,the impact of RGF peptides from one leguminous species on the others remains *** this study,we investigate the effects of the RGF family peptide MtRGF6p from *** on nodulation symbiosis and root development in Lotus *** MtRGF6 gene is predominantly expressed in the root nodules of *** and shows low identity with RGF homologous genes from *** gene promoter is active in the primordia of root nodules and lat-eral roots,as well as in young nodules and roots,and the meristem,infection,and nitrogen-ﬁxing regions of the mature *** synthesized MtRGF6p promoted primary root growth in *** but sup-pressed the growth of *** primary *** peptide negatively affected the initiation of nodule primor-dia,the formation of infection threads,and nodulation in both legumes,with a low dosage showing effects on *** compared to *** results suggest that the MtRGF6 peptide from *** may serve as an inter-species signal affecting the root organ development of ***.

Large eddy simulations generally are used to predict 3D wind field characteristics in complex mountainous *** simulation boundary conditions,such as the height and length of the computational domain or the characteristics of inflow turbulence,can significantly impact the quality of *** this study,we examined these boundary conditions within the context of the mountainous terrain around a long-span cable-stayed bridge using a wind tunnel *** sizes of computational domains and turbulent incoming wind velocities were used in large eddy *** results show that when the height of the computational domain is five times greater than the height of the terrain model,there is minimal influence from the top wall on the wind field characteristics in this complex mountainous *** the length of the wake region of the computational domain has negligible effects on the wind *** in the inlet boundary reduces the length of the wake region on a leeward hill with a low slope,but has less impact on the mean wind velocity of steep hills.

Diamond,with ultrahigh hardness,high wear resistance,high thermal conductivity,and so forth,has attracted worldwide ***,researchers found emergent reactions at the interfaces between diamond and ferrous materials,which significantly affects the performance of diamond-based ***,combing experiments and theoretical calculations,taking diamond–iron(Fe)interface as a prototype,the counter-diffusion mechanism of Fe/carbon atoms has been ***,it is identified that Fe and diamond first form a coherent interface,and then Fe atoms diffuse into diamond and prefer the carbon vacancies ***,the relaxed carbon atoms diffuse into the Fe lattice,forming Fe_(3)***,graphite is observed at the Fe_(3)C surface when Fe_(3)C is over-saturated by carbon *** present findings are expected to offer new insights into the atomic mechanism for diamondferrous material's interfacial reactions,benefiting diamond-based device applications.
