BACKGROUND Among the various types of aortic dissection,multichanneled aortic dissection(MCAD)differs from classic double-channeled aortic dissection and involves the formation of an additional false lumen in the aortic wall or the *** is considered a relatively rare condition with high perioperative mortality and ***,the morphological characteristic and the optimal therapeutic strategy for MCAD has not been fully *** SUMMARY A 64-year-old man presented to our hospital with severe epigastric abdominal pain radiating to the back that was associated with nausea without emesis.A computed tomography angiogram was performed that revealed a type B aortic dissection with multiple channels extending from the level of the left subclavian artery to the bilateral femoral *** used a medical three-dimensional modeling(3D)modeling system to identify the location and extension of multiple lumens from different *** also precisely located the two primary entries leading to the false lumens,which helped us to exclude the two false lumens with one *** By applying medical 3D modeling system,we discover the fragility of aortic wall and the collapse of true lumen caused by the multiple false lumens are the two morphological features of MCAD.

An asymmetric hydrogenation of α-oxymethylcinnamic acids was developed by using chiral spiro phosphineoxazoline/iridium complexes as catalysts to prepare β^(2)-hydroxycarboxylic acids with high reactivity(TON up to 2000)and excellent enantioselectivity(up to 99.5%ee).By using this highly efficient asymmetric hydrogenation as a key step,a concise total synthesis of natural product homoisoflavone(S)-(+)-4 was accomplished.

Objective To review the current research into Foxp3^＋ regulatory T cells （Treg） cell surface molecules, plasticity of Treg cells and mechanisms of Treg cell suppression and to explore the possibilities to interfere in Treg cell suppression of anti-tumor immunity. Data sources A literature search of all English articles was performed on the online electronic PubMed database dated 1995 to 2010. The keywords searched included： CD4^＋CD25^＋Foxp3^＋ regulatory T lymphocytes, cancer, and immunotherapy. After finding relevant articles within these search limits, a manual search was conducted through the references from these articles. Study selection Articles regarding the role of Treg cells in tumor immunity and the utility of Treg cells in tumor immunotherapy. Results The results show that significant numbers of Treg cells are found in many tumors and it has been shown that the number of tumor infiltrating Treg cells correlates with adverse clinic outcomes. Treg cells are emerging as a key component of acquired tolerance to tumors. Conclusions Several mechanisms of immunosuppression can be mediated by Treg cell function. Distinct immunosuppressive molecules expressed by Treg cells or diverse molecules related to Treg induction or migration represent potential drug targets for caner immunotherapy.

We proposed a called“nano-fabrication based on MEMS technology”approach to realize the typical nano-electro- mechanical structures,such as integrated nano probe,ultrathin cantilever,silicon nano wire,and doubly clamped nano beam, to demonstrate the feasibility and *** also introduced the characterization of nano structures based on laser vibrometer and piezoresistive effect,the latter method was first time applied to investigate a doubly daped nanobeam with a thickness of about 200 nm.

Bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs) play a critical role in the growth and steroidogenesis of granulosa cells(GCs).BMP signals act through membrane-bound heteromeric serine/threonine kinase *** ligand binding,BMPs activate intracellular Smad proteins and regulate growth and apoptosis in various cell *** objective of this study was to demonstrate the effects of BMP/Smad signal on growth and steroidogenesis of porcine GCs.A strategy of RNA interference(RNAi)-mediated 'gene silencing' of Smad4,a core molecule mediating the intracellular BMP/Smad signal transduction pathways,was used to interrupt endogenous BMP/Smad *** indicate that Smad4-small interfering RNA(siRNA) caused specific inhibition of Smad4 mRNA and protein expression after *** endogenous BMP/Smad signaling significantly inhibited growth,and induced apoptosis of porcine GCs,while decreasing estradiol *** addition,interrupted BMP/Smad signaling significantly(Plin D2,CDK4,Bcl-2,and *** findings provide new insights into how BMP/Smad signaling regulates the growth and steroidogenesis of porcine GCs.

A novel preparation method of phosphorus pentafluoride（PF5） is introduced in details in the article. Phosphorus pentafluoride is mainly used to synthesize lithium ion battery electrolyte salt. In the experiment mesneproduct- hexafluorophosphoric acid（HPF6） was firstly prepared-from phosphorus pentoxide（P2O5） and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride（HF）, according to the chemical stoichiometrics, the optimum amount of excess HF used was about 60% and the optimum reaction time was 4 h; then HPF6 was dehydrated by oleum with an excess amount of 35%-- 40% which was heated for 40--50 min at 150 ℃; thus HPF6 was decomposed to a mixture of gases containing PF5; impurity gases were removed through condensation in the presence of cooling water at 0 ℃, then PF5 of high purity was eventually prepared. The production was characterized by inffared（IR） spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy-selected ion monitoring（GC-MS-SIM）. Eventual results indicate that PF5 prepared by the novel method has a high target purity and a low amount of impurity and water.

Few effective treatments for chronic Keshan disease have been available till *** efficacy of long-term selenium supplementation in the treatment of chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart failure is *** study aimed to determine whether selenium supplementation is associated with a decreased risk of cardiac death in chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart failure by ten years of follow-up.A retrospective long-term follow-up analysis was performed on a monitored cohort consisting of 302 chronic Keshan disease patients with a mean age of 40.8±11.4 *** the 302 chronic Keshan disease patients,170(56.3%)were given selenium supplementation until the end point of *** proportional hazards regression models were used to identify the independent predictors of cardiac *** results showed that during the follow-up,there were 101 deaths of patients with chronic Keshan disease in the selenium supplementation group(101/170,59.4%)and 98 in non-selenium supplementation group(98/132,74.2%).Multivariate analyses suggested that selenium supplementation was associated with a decreased risk of cardiac death(HR 0.39,95%CI 0.28-0.53)after adjustment for baseline age,sex,cigarette smoking,family history of Keshan disease,body mass index(BMI),heart rate,electrocardiogram(ECG)abnonnalities,blood pressure,initial cardiothoracic ratio,left ventricular可ection fractions(LVEF)and whole-blood selenium *** ten-year follow-up analysis indicated that selenium supplementation,specifically combined with the use of angiotensinconverting cnzyme inhibitor and beta blocker therapy,improved the survival of patients with chronic Keshan disease with congestive heart ***,selenium deficiency,male,combined ECG abnonnalities,LVEF,and fast heart rate increased the risk of cardiac events.
