Empirical likelihood inference for partially linear errors-in-variables models with longitudinal data is investigated.Under regularity conditions,it is shown that the empirical log-likelihood ratio at the true parameters converges to the standard Chi-squared distribution.Furthermore,we consider some estimates of the unknown parameter and the resulting estimators are shown to be asymptotically normal.Some simulations and a real data analysis are given to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.

Mitophagy is one of the important targets for the prevention and treatment of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury(MIRI).Moderate mitophagy can remove damaged mitochondria,inhibit excessive reactive oxygen species accumulation,and protect mitochondria from damage.However,excessive enhancement of mitophagy greatly reduces adenosine triphosphate production and energy supply for cell survival,and aggravates cell death.How dysfunctional mitochondria are selectively recognized and engulfed is related to the interaction of adaptors on the mitochondrial membrane,which mainly include phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten(PTEN)-induced kinase 1/Parkin,hypoxia-inducible factor-1α/Bcl-2 and adenovirus e1b19k Da interacting protein 3,FUN-14 domain containing protein 1 receptor-mediated mitophagy pathway and so on.In this review,the authors briefly summarize the main pathways currently studied on mitophagy and the relationship between mitophagy and MIRI,and incorporate and analyze research data on prevention and treatment of MIRI with Chinese medicine,thereby provide relevant theoretical basis and treatment ideas for clinical prevention of MIRI.

The static levelling system has significant value in the settling measurement of the structures.A novel pressurized static level based on circular structure is designed by using fiber Bragg grating(FBG)sensing technology in this research.The variation of the level pressure in the connecting vessel can be transmitted through the diaphragm to the FBG of the circular ring.The Ritz method is used to calculate the lateral deformation of the circular ring under the concentrated force,constructing the theoretical sensitivity model of the sensor.Further,finite element simulation and static experiments are applied to modify and verify it.According to the experimental data,two FBGs arranged horizontally along the circular ring,multiplying the sensitivity of the FBG static level to about 4.75 pm/mm,while the resolution can reach 0.02 mm.In addition,the temperature compensation of the sensor can be realized by the synergistic change of the measurement point and the reference point within the system of connecting vessel.

Malaria remains a global health challenge,although an increasing number of countries will enter pre-elimination and elimination stages.The prompt and precise diagnosis of symptomatic and asymptomatic carriers of Plasmodium parasites is the key aspect of malaria elimination.Since the launch of the China Malaria Elimination Action Plan in 2010,China has formulated clear goals for malaria diagnosis and has established a network of malaria diagnostic laboratories within medical and health institutions at all levels.Various external quality assessments were implemented,and a national malaria diagnosis reference laboratory network was established to strengthen the quality assurance in malaria diagnosis.Notably,no indigenous malaria cases have been reported since 2017,but the risk of re-establishment of malaria transmission cannot be ignored.This review summarizes the lessons about malaria diagnosis in the elimination phase,primarily including the establishments of laboratory networks and quality control in China,to better improve malaria diagnosis and maintain a malaria-free status.A reference is also provided for countries experiencing malaria elimination.

Flow Field Characteristics of Multi-Trophic Artificial Reef Based on Computation Fluid Dynamics

On the basis of computational fluid dynamics,the flow field characteristics of multi-trophic artificial reefs,including the flow field distribution features of a single reef under three different velocities and the effect of spacing between reefs on flow scale and the flow state,were analyzed.Results indicate upwelling,slow flow,and eddy around a single reef.Maximum velocity,height,and volume of upwelling in front of a single reef were positively correlated with inflow velocity.The length and volume of slow flow increased with the increase in inflow velocity.Eddies were present both inside and backward,and vorticity was positively correlated with inflow velocity.Space between reefs had a minor influence on the maximum velocity and height of upwelling.With the increase in space from 0.5 L to 1.5 L(L is the reef lehgth),the length of slow flow in the front and back of the combined reefs increased slightly.When the space was 2.0 L,the length of the slow flow decreased.In four different spaces,eddies were present inside and at the back of each reef.The maximum vorticity was negatively correlated with space from 0.5 L to 1.5 L,but under 2.0 L space,the maximum vorticity was close to the vorticity of a single reef under the same inflow velocity.

With the rapid development of economy and modern industry,serious environmental pollution and energy shortage have become major urgent challenges to the human society.Photocatalysis is a promising technology to provide green energy.As a typical metal-free polymer photocatalyst,g-C_(3)N_(4) has attracted more and more attention due to its excellent performance.Unfortunately,the fast recombination of photo-induced charges,limited light response range as well as weak oxidation ability are still the key drawback that restrict the photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4).These problems can be effectively addressed by constructing g-C_(3)N_(4)-based heterojunctions with two or more semiconductor materials,during which the respective advantages can be integrated.Up to now,the various oxidation semiconductor photocatalysts have been tried to construct the novel S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts with g-C_(3)N_(4).Thus,this review provides a comprehensive introduction of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunctions,including the main characteristics of the S-scheme heterojunction,photocatalytic mechanisms,design rules and preparation methods of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts.Moreover,this review summarizes recently reported works on the potential applications of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme photocatalysts in various important photocatalytic reactions,including photocatalytic hydrogen production,photocatalytic degradation of contaminants,photo-reduction of CO_(2) into fuels,and photocatalytic sterilization.Finally,based on the current research progress,we propose some shortages in the preparation methods and applications of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based S-scheme heterojunctions,which are to be further investigated and resolved in this promising and creative research field.

Gene transcription and new protein synthesis regulated by epigenetics play integral roles in the formation of new memories.However,as an important part of epigenetics,the function of chromatin remodeling in learning and memory has been less studied.Here,we showed that SMARCA5(SWI/SNF related,matrix-associated,actin-dependent regulator of chromatin,subfamily A,member 5),a critical chromatin remodeler,was responsible for hippocampus-dependent memory maintenance and neurogenesis.Using proteomics analysis,we found protein expression changes in the hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG)after the knockdown of SMARCA5 during contextual fear conditioning(CFC)memory maintenance in mice.Moreover,SMARCA5 was revealed to participate in CFC memory maintenance via modulating the proteins of metabolic pathways such as nucleoside diphosphate kinase-3(NME3)and aminoacylase 1(ACY1).This work is the first to describe the role of SMARCA5 in memory maintenance and to demonstrate the involvement of metabolic pathways regulated by SMARCA5 in learning and memory.

To the Editor:Type 1 diabetes(T1D)is caused by autoimmunity-mediated destruction of pancreatic islet beta cells,with islet autoimmunity being the essential component in the pathogenesis of T1D.[1]However,studies on human islets are limited due to sampling difficulties.Therefore,immunological changes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)should be emphasized.In one way,islet-infiltrating immune cells are presumably in equilibrium with circulating pools and changes in PBMCs might partly reflect islet inflammation.On the other,PBMCs represent a useful tool to detect biomarkers for disease.[2]Traditionally,studies on PBMCs in T1D are characterized by the use of limited numbers of cell-surface markers and secreted cytokines measured using flow detection and other antibody-based assays.

Risk factors for postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder after emergency admission

BACKGROUND:Postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD)can occur in women who give birth after emergency admission.The identification of risk factors for this condition is crucial for developing effective preventive measures.This retrospective study aimed to explore the incidence and risk factors for postpartum PTSD in women who give birth after emergency admission.METHODS:Medical records of women who gave birth after emergency admission were collected between March 2021 and April 2023.The patients’general conditions and perinatal clinical indicators were recorded.The puerperae were divided into PTSD group and control group based on symptom occurrence at six weeks postpartum.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors.RESULTS:A total of 276 puerperae were included,with a PTSD incidence of 20.3% at six weeks postpartum.Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified emergency cesarean section(odds ratio[OR]=2.102;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.114-3.966,P=0.022),admission to the emergency department after midnight(12:00 AM)(OR=2.245;95%CI:1.170-4.305,P<0.001),and cervical dilation(OR=3.203;95%CI:1.670–6.141,P=0.039)as independent risk factors for postpartum PTSD.Analgesia pump use(OR=0.500;95%CI:0.259–0.966,P=0.015)was found to be a protective factor against postpartum PTSD.CONCLUSION:Emergency cesarean section,admission to the emergency department after midnight,and cervical dilation were identified as independent risk factors for postpartum PTSD,while analgesic pump use was a protective factor.These findings provide insights for developing more effective preventive measures for women who give birth after emergency admission.
