The interventional effect of Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua polysaccharide on atherosclerosis in mice of different sexes

In the present study,we investigated the intervention effects of a purified Polygonatum cyrtonema polysaccharide(PCP)on high-fat diet(HFD)-induced atherosclerosis in male and female LDLr-/-*** showed that HFD caused severe dyslipidemia,atherosclerotic lesions,oxidative damages and inflammation in male and female mice,and these effects seemed to be more pronounced in males than in ***,the above variations could be dose-dependently reversed by PCP treatment,and the intervention effects on males were greater than those on *** factor kappa-B(NF-κB),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPKs)and protein kinase B(Akt)are 3 pivotal signaling pathways mediating the development of ***,PCP was also found to significantly decrease the phosphorylation of p65,p38,extracellular-regulated kinase 1/2(ERK1/2)and Akt,and increase the protein expression of inhibitor of NF-κB(IκB)in the aortas of male and female mice induced by *** together,these findings indicated that PCP could be effective for the prevention of atherosclerosis,and the intervention effect of PCP on male mice was more obvious than that of female mice.

Synergistically enhanced dielectric, insulating and thermally conductive performances of sandwich PMMA based dielectric films

A tri-layered(B-g-B) dielectric films were simply prepared by alternatively spin-coating boron nitride/polymethylmethacrylate(BN/PMMA, B) and graphene nanosheets(gNS/PMMA, g) compound solutions. The structure, morphology, thermal conductivity, and particularly the dielectric and relaxation behaviors were systematically studied. Results showed that a good exfoliation and dispersion of BN and gNS can be simply achieved through intensive mechanical compounding with PMMA in the internal mixer. The dielectric constant and breakdown strength of the obtained 1-3-1(B-g-B) sandwich composite film reached 4.3(@1 kHz) and 458.6kV/mm, being 119 % and 113 % higher than that of pure PMMA, respectively. Furthermore, the overall thermal conductivity of sandwich 1-3-1 composite increased by 112 % due to the addition of thermally conductive BN and gNS. The sandwich design strategy provided an effective way of achieving good permittivity, high insulation, and improved thermal conductivity simultaneously, showing potential applications in the miniaturization and integration of electronic devices.

The recent concurrent emergence of H5N1,H5N6,and H5N8 avian influenza viruses(AIVs)has led to significant avian mortality *** 2020,frequent human-animal interactions have been *** gain insight into the novel H5 subtype AIVs(i.e.,H5N1,H5N6 and H5N8),we collected 6102 samples from various regions of China between January 2021 and September 2022,and identified 41 H5Nx *** analyses on the evolution and biological properties of these isolates were *** analysis revealed that the 41 H5Nx strains belonged to clade 2.***.4.4b,with 13 related to H5N1,19 to H5N6,and 9 to *** based on global 2.***.4.4b viruses showed that all the viruses described in this study were likely originated from H5N8,exhibiting a heterogeneous evolutionary history between H5N1 and H5N6 during 2015–2022 worldwide.H5N1 showed a higher rate of evolution in 2021–2022 and more sites under positive selection pressure in 2015–*** antigenic profiles of the novel H5N1 and H5N6 exhibited notable *** hemagglutination inhibition assay suggested that some A(H5N1)viruses may be antigenically distinct from the circulating H5N6 and H5N8 *** challenge assays demonstrated that the H5N8 virus(21gD001_H5N8)displayed the highest pathogenicity in mice,followed by the H5N1 virus(B1557_H5N1)and then the H5N6 virus(220086_H5N6),suggesting a heterogeneous virulence profile of H5 AIVs in the mammalian *** on the above results,we speculate that A(H5N1)viruses have a higher risk of emergence in the ***,these findings unveil a new landscape of different evolutionary history and biological characteristics of novel H5 AIVs in clade 2.***.4.4b,contributing to a better understanding of designing more effective strategies for the prevention and control of novel H5 AIVs.

During the operation of high-voltage cables,external stress and residual stress can affect the aggregated structure of insulating materials and lead to significant deterioration in their electrical *** investigate the evolution characteristics of the electrical properties of cross-linked polyethylene(XLPE)under mechanical stress,this paper ex-plains the relationship between the aggregated structure of XLPE and its electrical properties and proposes a method for improving insulation performance under me-chanical *** results show that metallocene polyethylene used as a nucleating agent can promote crystallisation through heterogeneous nucleation and increase Young's modulus by non-uniform nucleation,increasing crystallinity and reducing interplanar spacing,resulting in more complete crystal forms and reduced damage to the aggregated structure during the tensile *** nucleating agent modification,the XLPE crystallisation becomes more uniform,and interfacial adhesion forces *** weakened interface damage process between the amorphous and crystalline regions under tensile stress effectively inhibits the process of molecular chain polarisation turning and reduces trap *** modified XLPE crystal structure shows a tendency towards densification and enhanced molecular chain interactions,which can reduce the damage to the aggregated structure under tensile stress,while the reduced free volume inside the material and the shortened average free path of carriers can weaken the damage of high-energy electrons to molecular chains,thereby inhibiting the process of electrical tree *** results show that nucleating agents have great potential for maintaining the stable operation of XLPE cables under mechanical stress.
