HOXA11-AS aggravates microglia-induced neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury

Long noncoding RNAs(lnc RNAs)participate in many pathophysiological processes after traumatic brain injury by mediating neuroinflammation and *** A11 antisense RNA(HOXA11-AS)is a member of the lnc RNA family that has been reported to participate in many inflammatory reactions;however,its role in traumatic brain injury remains *** this study,we established rat models of traumatic brain injury using a weight-drop hitting device and injected LV-HOXA11-AS into the right lateral ventricle 2 weeks before *** results revealed that overexpression of HOXA11-AS aggravated neurological deficits in traumatic brain injury rats,increased brain edema and apoptosis,promoted the secretion of proinflammatory factors interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factorα,and promoted the activation of astrocytes and *** were treated with 100 ng/m L lipopolysaccharide for 24 hours to establish in vitro cell models,and then transfected with pc DNA-HOXA11-AS,mi R-124-3 p mimic,or *** results revealed that HOXA11-AS inhibited mi R-124-3 p expression and boosted MDK expression and TLR4-nuclear factor-κB pathway ***,lipopolysaccharide enhanced potent microglia-induced inflammatory responses in *** overexpression of mi R-124-3 p or downregulating MDK repressed microglial activation and the inflammatory response of ***,the mi R-124-3 p-mediated anti-inflammatory effects were reversed by *** findings suggest that HOXA11-AS can aggravate neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury by modulating the mi R-124-3 p-MDK *** study was approved by the Animal Protection and Use Committee of Southwest Medical University(approval ***-2019-042)on February 4,2019.

0Optimized Fluoroscopy Setting and Appropriate Project Position Can Reduce X-ray Radiation Doses Rates during Electrophysiology Procedures

Background：Nonfluoroscopic three-dimensional electroanatomical system is widely used nowadays,but X-ray remains indispensable for complex electrophysiology *** study aimed to evaluate the value of optimized parameter setting and different projection position to reduce X-ray radiation dose ***：From June 2013 to October 2013,105 consecutive patients who underwent complex ablation were enrolled in the *** the ablation,the radiation dose rates were measured by two different settings （default setting and optimized setting） with three projection positions （posteroanterior [PA] projection;left anterior oblique [LAO] 30° projection;and LAO 45° projection）.The parameter of preset voltage,pulse width,critical voltage,peak voltage,noise reduction,edge enhancement,pulse rate,and dose per frame was modified in the optimized ***：The optimized setting reduced radiation dose rates by 87.5％（1.7 Gy/min vs.13.6 Gy/min,P ＜ 0.001） in PA,87.3％（2.5 Gy/min vs.19.7 Gy/min,P＜0.001） in LAO 30°,85.9％（3.1 Gy/min vs.22.1 Gy/min,P ＜ 0.001） in LAO 45°.Increase the angle of projection position will increase the radiation dose ***：We can reduce X-ray radiation dose rates by adjusting the parameter setting of X-ray *** oblique projection of large angle is another way to reduce X-ray radiation dose rates.

In this letter, a universal receiver structure with modulation classification and syn-chronization recovery for MDPSK signal is presented. The universal timing estimation algorithmfor M-ary DPSK signals is proposed to estimate the best symbol timing. An identification algo-rithm based on fourth-order cumulants of signal is used to identify the modulation scheme of thesignal. Numerical results of the performance of the proposed receiver are given.

Potential predictors of non-response and super-response to cardiac resynchronization therapy

Background Although cardiac resynchronization therapy （CRT） is already an established treatment, the characteristics of patients who have an excellent response to CRT and those who get no benefit remain to be determined. The purpose of this study was to search for potential predictors of both non-response and super-response to *** Seventy-six consecutive patients who received CRT treatment were divided into group A （non-responders）,group C （super-responders） and group B （responders exclusive of super-responders）. Student＇s t test, Mann-Whitney test, Logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve were employed to identify potential predictors among the patients＇ demographic characteristics, clinical features, several electrocardiographic parameters before and after CRT implantation, and their pre-implant echocardiographic *** Group A had the lowest 3-month left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）. Group C had the smallest pre-implant left ventricular end-diastolic dimension （LVEDD）, the shortest post-implant QRS duration, the smallest 3-month LVEDD and the highest 3-month LVEF. In addition, there was a trend of gradual change in percent of left bundle branch block,severity of pre-implant mitral regurgitation, pre-implant QRS dispersion, post-implant QRS duration as well as post-implant QRS dispersion from group A to group B and from group B to group C. Multivariable Logistic analysis revealed that only pre-implant LVEDD could predict CRT super-response. A pre-implant LVEDD of 68.5 mm was the cut-off value that identified super-responders with 87.5% sensitivity and 79.7% specificity. A pre-implant LVEDD of 62.5mm identified super-responders with 50.0% sensitivity and 89.8% *** Predictors of a CRT non-response remain unclear at present. But it is credible that patients with a smaller left ventricle would have a better chance to become super-responders to CRT.

Artifi cial liver support system in treatment of liverfailure after acute poisoning

BACKGROUND： Acute poisoning （AP） may cause failure of the liver and kidney, and evendeath. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of artificial liver support system （ALSS） on thetreatment of liver failure after acute ***： A total of 31 patients with liver failure caused by AP were admitted to emergency ICU,central ICU, and Department of Gastroenterology from 2005 to 2009 in Zhongshan Hospital Affi liatedto Xiamen University, China. Among them, 13 patients served as a treatment group, and used ALSS inaddition to detoxifi cation treatment and protective treatment of liver function, and the other 18 patientsserved as a control group receiving detoxifi cation treatment and protective treatment of liver ***： In the treatment group, 10 patients （76.9%） were cured or improved, 2 died, and1 was discharged against advice. In the 18 patients in the control group, 7 （38.9%） were cured orimproved, 3 died, and 8 were discharged against advice. There was a significant difference in therates of improvement between the two groups （P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION： ALSS is a safe and effective clinical method for the treatment of acute toxicliver failure.

Controlled Growth of ZnO Array on FTO Glass Substrate by Electrodeposition

In this study, ZnO nanotube and nanorod array films were respectively synthesized directly on F-doped Sn02 glass substrate （FTO） using a direct electrodeposition from a simple aqueous zinc salt solution. The effects of potential value, electro- deposition mode and solution stirring speed on the product morphology were investigated. Controlling the reaction under potentiostatic condition of-0.7 V at stirring speed of 300 r/min, large-scale nanotube arrays perpendicular to the substrate can be synthesized at a low temperature of 70℃. By varying the reaction parameters, we can also obtain ZnO nanorod arrays. The results of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy have been provided to characterize the structure and morphology of the nanotube and nanorod arrays. Experiment results show that the as-obtained ZnO has a single crystalline structure and c-axis oriented direction. The room-temperature photoluminescence spectrum of the ZnO nanotube array film displayed its high crystal property available as a photonic material. Electrodeposition is an effective method to prepare ZnO nanotube array films in quantity.
