In this work,nickel/T-Nb_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles encapsulated in mesoporous carbon nanofibers(denoted as Ni/T-Nb_(2)O_(5)@CNFs)are successfully prepared through a simple electrospinning route and succedent heating *** presence of Ni in carbon nanofibers is beneficial for enhancing the electronic conductivity and the initial Coulombic ***/T-Nb_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles are homogeneously incorporated in carbon nanofibers to form a nanocomposite system,which provides effective buffering during the lithiation/delithiation process for cycling *** Ni/TNb_(2)O_(5)@CNFs show high surface area(26.321 m^(2)·g^(-1))and mesoporous microstructure,resulting in higher capacity and excellent rate *** Ni/T-Nb_(2)O_(5)@CNFs exhibit a remarkable capacity of 437 mAh·g^(-1)at a current density of0.5 A·g^(-1)after 230 cycles and a capacity of 173 mAh·g^(-1)at a current density up to 10.0 A·g^(-1)after 1400 *** work indicates that nickel/T-Nb_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles encapsulated in carbon nanofibers can be a promising candidate for anode material in high-power liBs.

Transition metal phosphides(TMPs)are recognized as such promising supercapacitor materials for the practical application,due to their superior electrical conductivity and excellent redox ***,self-supported three-dimensional NiCoP nanoparticles embedded in NiCoO2 nano wires(NiCoO2/NiCoP)electrode consisting of nickel cobalt phosphides(NiCoP)with high activity and nickel cobalt oxides(NiCoO2)with good stability were fabricated by a hydrothermal and phosphorization *** electrode integrates the advantages of nanowire arrays for fast ion transport and foam Ni for effective charge transport and *** the proper composition control of the nanohybrid and unique structure design,the optimized NiCoO2/NiCoP-20 exhibits a high specific capacitance of 3204 F·g-1 at 1 A·g-1 in 3 mol·L-1 KOH aqueous electrolyte in a three-electrode ***,the asymmetric supercapacitor assembled with the prepared NiCoO2/NiCoP-20 and activated carbon achieves a specific capacitance of 116 F·g-1 with a high energy density of 40.32 Wh·kg-1 at the power density of 800.18 W·*** practical application is further demonstrated with all-solid-state winding supercapacitor devices,with decent flexibility,in series to light the Central South University(CSU)logo consisting of 21 red LED indicators.

A label-free colorimetric protocol based on peptide nucleic acid/silver nanoparticles(PNA/Ag NPs) has been initially proposed for specific recognition of m *** use of the controlled silver nanoparticles aggregation/dispersion by PNA/PNA–RNA complex, proto-oncogene c-Myc m RNA detection can be achieved. Moreover, the PNA/Ag NPs platform can undergo color change in response to target c-Myc m RNA with single-base-mismatch sensitivity, which could further help in visually identify single nucleotide differences in target genes.

The practical application of the lithium anode in lithium metal batteries(LMBs) has been hindered by the uncontrollable growth of lithium dendrite and the high volumetric change during cycling. Herein, the in situ formed three-dimensional(3D) lithium-boron(li-B) alloy is suggested as an excellent alternative to the li metal, in which the 3D li B skeleton can mitigate the growth of li dendrites and volumetric change. In this study, the li-B alloy anodes with different B contents were manufactured by high-temperature melting. It was found that the boron content had a significant effect on the electrochemical performance of the li-B alloy. The li-B alloy with the least B content(10 wt%, 10liB) demonstrated the lowest overpotential of 0.0852 V after 300 h and the lowest interface resistance. However, the full cell with 15liB as the anode displayed the best cycling performance of 115 m Ah·g^(-1) after 100 cycles with a columbic efficiency greater than 97%. The obtained results suggest that the in situ formed three-dimensional li-B alloy anode can be an excellent alternative to the li anode via tuning B contents for next-generation high energy density LMBs.

lithium metal batteries(LMBs) are ideal candidates for next-generation high energy density energy storage ***,uncontrollable growth of li dendrites due to uneven li plating has restricted the practical application of the li metal ***,we develop a highly lithiophilic Zn coating on commercial Cu foil as a substrate for li metal anode to settle above *** find that the lithiophilic nature of Zn can facilitate homogeneous nucleation and deposition of li on Cu current collector *** addition,the uniform Zn coating can not only decrease the nucleation overpotential but also regulate the electric field *** from the coated Zn layer,the designed anode for half-cell and full-cell tests shows better electrochemical performances compared with the untreated Cu *** work provides a simple and effective way to enable a promising dendrite-free lithium metal anode for large-scale industrial applications.

Efficient thermal management of lithium-ion battery,working under extremely rapid charging-discharging,is of widespread interest to avoid the battery degradation due to temperature rise,resulting in the enhanced ***,thermal management of lithium-ion battery has been performed via a liquid cooling theoretical model integrated with thermoelectric model of battery packs and single-phase heat *** to alleviate the battery temperature fluctuation by automatically manipulating the flow rate of working fluid,a nominal model-free controller,i.e.,fuzzy logic controller is *** optimized on-off controller based on pump speed optimization is introduced to serve as the comparative *** control simulations are conducted under regular operating and extreme operating conditions,and two controllers are applied to control battery temperature with proper intervals which is conducive to enhance the battery charge-discharge *** results indicate that,for any operating condition,the fuzzy logic controller shows excellence in terms of the tracking accuracy of set-point of battery *** to the establishment of fuzzy set and fuzzy behavioral rules,the battery temperature has been throughout maintained near the set point,and the temperature fluctuation amplitude is highly reduced,with better temperature control accuracy of~0.2℃(regular condition)and~0.5℃(extreme condition)compared with~1.1℃(regular condition)and~1.6℃(extreme condition)of optimized on-off *** in the case of extreme operating condition,the proposed optimized on-off controller manifests the hysteresis in temperature fluctuation,which is ascribed to the set of dead-band for the feedback *** simulation results cast new light on the utilization and development of model-free temperature controller for the thermal management of lithium-ion battery.

The age softening phenomenon of the li−B alloy was investigated by a series of tensile tests under various aging *** results show that the tensile strength of the rolled li−B alloy decreases with increasing aging *** aging temperature accelerates the softening process,and leads to an early end of aging.A model was proposed to analyze the mechanism of the age *** vacancy annihilation is the control factor of age *** strength−temperature relationship was estimated by the newly proposed model and a standard heat treatment,annealing at 150℃ for 1 h,was designed to eliminate the age softening of rolled li−B alloy.

Alumina–spinel refractories used in slit-type purging plugs are susceptible to cross-sectional damage,resulting in a serious mismatch between their service life and that of ***–calcium hexaluminate refractories have gradually become the new trend in purging plug materials with the development of refining *** thermomechanical damage of slit-type purging plugs with alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractory was investigated by the thermo-solid coupling *** with the polynomial fitting and design of experiments methods,the influence of thermophysical parameters on temperature and thermal stress of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plugs was systematically *** results show that the maximum thermal stress of the purging plugs appears during the stages of steel transporting and stirring,and the vulnerable parts are located above Y=0.323 *** thermal conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material are the most sensitive parameters to the temperature and thermal stress inside the structure,*** addition of more calcium hexaluminate can relieve the stress concentration and large deformation around the ***,when the content of calcium hexaluminate is 47 wt.%and in the form of aggregate-binder,the temperature and thermal stress distribution inside the refractory are optimal,which can effectively improve the service life of the slit-type purging plug.

Achievement of lithium(li)metal anode with thin thickness(e.g.,≤30µm)is highly desirable for rechargeable high energy density ***,the fabrication and application of such thin li metal foil electrode remain challenging due to the poor mechanical processibility and inferior electrochemical performance of metallic ***,mechanico-chemical synthesis of robust ultrathin li/li_(3)P(LLP)composite foils(~15µm)is demonstrated by employing repeated mechanical rolling/stacking operations using red P and metallic li as raw *** in-situ formed li+-conductive li_(3)P nanoparticles in metallic li matrix and their tight bonding strengthen the mechanical durability and enable the successful fabrication of free-standing ultrathin li metal composite ***,it also reduces the electrochemical li nucleation barrier and homogenizes li plating/stripping *** matching to high-voltage liCoO_(2),the full cell with a low negative/positive(N/P)capacity ratio of~1.5 offers a high energy density of~522 W·h·kg^(-1) at 0.5 C based on the mass of cathode and *** into account its facile manufacturing,potentially low cost,and good electrochemical performance,we believe that such an ultrathin composite li metal foil design with nanoparticle-dispersion-strengthened mechanism may boost the development of high energy density li metal batteries.
