The effects of Timentin and cefotaxime （Cef） on shoot regeneration of the London plane tree （Platanus acerifolia Willd.） and their use for the suppression ofAgrobacterium tumefaciens in Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation were compared. Shoot regeneration was significantly reduced on the media with Cef at concentrations from 100 to 500 mg·L^-1. Timentin showed negative effect on plant regeneration at concentrations of 100 and 500 mg·L^-1; however, 300 mg·L^-1 Timentin was shown to facilitate shoot regeneration significantly and the regeneration frequency increased from 64% （control） to 88%. Effective suppression of A. tumefaciens could be obtained with 500 mg·L^-1 Cef, but plant regeneration was completely inhibited at this level. The A. tumefaciens on infected P. acerifolia leaf tissues was visually undetectable after three subcultures on a medium with 300 mg·L^-1 Timentin. Considering the effect of Cef and Timentin on plant regeneration and suppression of Agrobacteria, Timentin at 300 mg·L^-1 is the preferred application in .4. tumefaciens-mediated transformation ofP acerifolia.

BACKGROUND Anorectal melanoma (AM) is an extremely rare malignant tumor originating from anorectal melanocytes with a poor prognosis. AM has been reported to have a much lower incidence than cutaneous or choroid melanoma, accounting for 0.4%-1.6% of all melanomas. CASE SUMMARY We report a 76-year-old female patient diagnosed with anorectal malignant melanoma by colonoscopy and biopsy. Intraoperative examination revealed two distinct anorectal tumors, one melanotic and another amelanotic, as well as two pigmented mucosal zones at the dentate line level. Abdominal perineal resection was performed. A pathological report confirmed all four lesions to be melanomas. Postoperatively, we followed an immunotherapy protocol targeting PD-1 (nivolumab). The patient had 24 mo of disease-free follow-up upon completion of nivolumab treatment. CONCLUSION This is the first reported case presenting coexistence of pigmented and unpigmented AMs in the same patient.

In lithium-ion batteries(liBs),separators play a vital role in lithium-ion(li+)transport,and thus affect rate performance,battery life,and ***,a new kind of multifunctional copolymer poly(acrylonitrile-co-lithium acrylate-co-butyl acrylate)(PAAB-li)is synthesized through soap-free emulsion polymerization,and is used to form homogeneous-covered separator based on PP matrix by a simple dip-annealing *** to the bare PP separator,the modified separators with PAAB-li enable higher ionic conductivity,higher lithium ion transference number(increased from 0.360 to 0.525),and lower interface impedance(reduced from 155Ω to 34Ω).It has been indicated that PAAB-li functional layer significantly promotes the fast transport of li+and improves the compatibility of the separator/electrolyte-electrode *** liCo02/graphite cells with the PAAB-li-assisted separator demonstrate excellent cycle stability and rate *** addition,the li symmetric cells with the modified separator stably cycle over 800 h,indicating the functional layer effectively suppresses the lithium dendrite *** facile strategy can be easily applied to liBs requiring high safety and even be scalable to li metal ***,the possible mechanism of the PAAB-li functional layer promoting fast and uniform li+transport is discussed in this paper.

The Abundance and Population Dynamics of Leptocybe invasa (Hymenoptera:Eulophidae) Galls on Eucalyptus *** China

The blue gum chalcid, Leptocybe invasa Fisher ＆ La Salle, invaded China in 2007 and has subsequently caused substantial damage to eucalyptus trees. In the current paper, we investigated the susceptibility of 10 Eucalyptus spp. and Eucahetus dunnii to L. invasa in the field, determined the density of galls as well as the gall volume on these tree species, and monitored the population dynamics of wasps in Hainan and Guangdong provinces of China. The order of susceptibility to L. invasa was Eucalyptus urophyllaxEucalyptus camaldulensis〉E, urophylla （coppices）〉Eucalyptus exserta〉 Eucalyptus grandisxE, urophylla in Hainan, and Eucalyptus propinqua〉Eucalyptus saligna〉E, exserta〉Eucalyptus microcorys〉Eucahetus dunnii〉E, camaldulensis〉Eucalyptus tereticornis〉Eucalyptus robust in Guangdong, China. Although L. invasa generally damages the midribs and petioles of young leaves and the tender bark of twigs of eucalyptus, galls were not observed on leaves of E. microcorys, E. camaldulensis, or E. dunnii. Gall volume significantly differed among the tree species, and gall volume and wasp number were positively correlated. In Dongfang, Hainan Province, the overwintering period of L. invasa emergencing through the year was from the end of December to March of the next year, and the number of population was the greatest on E. urophylla^E, camaldulensis, and the smallest on E. grandis E. urophylla. In Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, L. invasa hardly emerged in winter from December to June of the next year, and the population was the greatest on E. propinqua, and the smallest on E. microcorys.

A series of novel, cycloalkyl-modified pazopanib analogs 2 and 3 were designed and synthesized. Their kinase modulatory effects on FGFR-1, VEGFR-2, PDGFR-β and c-KIT were evaluated by the caliper mobility shift assay. Introduction of cycloalkyl into the pyrimidine linker of pazopanib almost abolished the four kinases inhibitory potency of compounds 2 and 3, but surprisingly, resulted in good activation effects on FGFR-1. Compounds 3d and 3g showed double-digit, nanomolar, selective activation effects on FGFR-1, and could be classified as first-generation small molecular activators of FGFR-1 kinase.

Anisotropic CeCo4.325_xCuo.675Fex （x ： 0.475- 0.875） sintered magnets were prepared by traditional powder metallurgical method. Influence of ball-nfilling time and iron content on microstructure and magnetic properties of the CeCo4,325-xCuo.675Fex sintered magnets were investigated. It is shown that the properties of the magnet produced by mag- netic powders ball-milled for 40 min are better than that for 30 rain. With iron content increasing, remanence Br and maxi- mum energy product （BH）m increase first and then decrease. The optimal magnetic properties are obtained for the CeCo3.65Cuo.675Feo.675 sintered magnet： Br=0.685 T, the intrinsic coercivity Hci = 350 kA.m-1, and （BH）m ： 85.6 kJ.m-3. The increase of Br is mainly influenced by iron content of 1：5 matrix which can properly increase the saturation induction Bs; the rapid increase of the amount of Ce-rich phase and 5：19 phase gives rise to the deterioration of the magnets when x ≥ 0.775.

Based on the antiplatelet aggregation mechanism and the bioisosterism principle of the reference drug picotamide, thirteen novel derivatives of arylamide and arylsulfonamide were designed and prepared. The biological activities of these derivatives were investigated. The chemical structures of the target compounds were confirmed by ^1H NMR and IR. The in vitro activities of antiplatelet aggregation of the thirteen target compounds were assessed by Bore＇s method. Compounds 2b and 8h have significant antiplatelet aggregation activities, which are superior to the corresponding activity of Picotamide.

Grain zinc and iron concentrations of Chinese wheat landraces and cultivars and their responses to foliar micronutrient applications

Grain zinc(Zn) and iron(Fe) concentrations and their responses to foliar application of micronutrients in 28 Chinese wheat landraces and 63 cultivars were investigated in a two-year field experiment. The average grain Zn and Fe concentrations were 41.8 mg kg^(-1)(29.0-63.3 mg kg^(-1)) and 39.7 mg kg^(-1)(27.9-67.0 mg kg^(-1)), respectively. Compared with cultivars, landraces had greater grain Zn(11.0%) and Fe(4.8%) concentrations but lower harvest index(HI), grain weight per spike(GWS), grain number per spike(GNS) and thousand grain weight(TGW). Both Zn and Fe concentrations were negatively and significantly correlated with HI, GWS, and GNS, while showed a poor association with TGW, suggesting that lower HI, GWS, and GNS, but not TGW, accounted for higher Zn and Fe concentrations for landraces than for cultivars. Grain Zn concentrations of both cultivars and landraces significantly increased after foliar Zn spray and the increase was two-fold greater for landraces(12.6 mg kg^(-1)) than for cultivars(6.4 mg kg^(-1)). Foliar Fe spray increased grain Fe concentrations of landraces(3.4 mg kg^(-1)) and cultivars(1.2 mg kg^(-1)), but these increases were not statistically significant. This study showed that Chinese wheat landraces had higher grain Zn and Fe concentrations than cultivars, and greater increases occurred in grain Zn concentration than in grain Fe concentration in response to fertilization, suggesting that Chinese wheat landraces could serve as a potential genetic source for enhancing grain mineral levels in modern wheat cultivars.
