Evaluation of microRNA expression profiles in human sperm frozen using permeable cryoprotectant-free droplet vitrification and conventional methods

For sperm cryopreservation,the conventional method,which requires glycerol,has been used for a long *** addition,the permeable cryoprotectant-free vitrification method has been continuously *** the differences of cryopreservation effects between the two methods have being studied,differences in microRNA(miRNA)profiles between them remain *** this study,we investigated the differences in miRNA expression profiles among conventional freezing sperm,droplet vitrification freezing sperm and fresh human *** also analyzed the differences between these methods in terms of differentially expressed miRNAs(DEmiRs)related to early embryonic development and paternal *** results showed no significant differences between the cryopreservation methods in terms of sperm motility ratio,plasma membrane integrity,DNA integrity,mitochondrial membrane potential,acrosome integrity,and ultrastructural ***,sperm miRNA-sequencing showed differences between the two methods in terms of the numbers of DEmiRs(28 and 19 with vitrification using a nonpermeable cryoprotectant and the conventional method,respectively)in postthaw and fresh sperm *** related to early embryonic development and paternal epigenetics mainly included common DEmiRs between the *** results showed that the differences between conventional freezing and droplet vitrification were minimal in terms of miRNA expression related to embryonic development and *** in sperm miRNA expression due to freezing are not always detrimental to embryonic *** study compared differences in miRNA expression profiles before and after cryopreservation between cryopreservation by conventional and vitrification *** offers a new perspective to evaluate various methods of sperm cryopreservation.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries(AZIBs) have emerged as potential candidates for li-ion batteries due to their intrinsic safety and high ***,metallic Zn anodes encounter dendrite growth and water-induced corrosion,rendering poor stability and severe irreversibility at the electrode/electrolyte interface during *** stabilize the Zn anode,we report a low-cost and effective nonionic surfactant,Tween-20 polymer,as an electrolyte additive for *** Tween-20,sequential oxyethylene groups tended to be preferentially adsorbed on the Zn electrode to form a shielding layer for regulating uniform Zn ***,the hydrophobic hendecyl chains prevented H_(2)O-induced corrosion on the Zn anode *** from the desired functional groups,when only trace amounts of Tween-20(0.050 g·L^(-1)) were used,the Zn anode displayed good cycling stability over 2170 h at10 mA·cm^(-2) and a high average Coulombic efficiency of98.94% over 1000 *** Tween-20 polymer can also be effectively employed in MnO_(2)/Zn full *** their toxicity,price and amount of usage,these surfactant additives provide a promising strategy for realizing the stability and reversibility of high-performance Zn anodes.

The Convergence of the Sums of Independent Random Variables Under the Sub-linear Expectations

Let {Xn;n≥1} be a sequence of independent random variables on a probability space(Ω,F,P) and Sn=∑k=1n *** is well-known that the almost sure convergence,the convergence in probability and the convergence in distribution of Sn are *** this paper,we prove similar results for the independent random variables under the sub-linear expectations,and give a group of sufficient and necessary conditions for these *** proving the results,the Levy and Kolmogorov maximal inequalities for independent random variables under the sub-linear expectation are *** an application of the maximal inequalities,the sufficient and necessary conditions for the central limit theorem of independent and identically distributed random variables are also obtained.

The Sufficient and Necessary Conditions of the Strong Law of Large Numbers under Sub-linear Expectations

In this paper, by establishing a Borel–Cantelli lemma for a capacity which is not necessarily continuous, and a link between a sequence of independent random variables under the sub-linear expectation and a sequence of independent random variables on R^(∞) under a probability, we give the sufficient and necessary conditions of the strong law of large numbers for independent and identically distributed random variables under the sub-linear expectation, and the sufficient and necessary conditions for the convergence of an infinite series of independent random variables, without the assumption on the continuity of the capacities. A purely probabilistic proof of a weak law of large numbers is also given.

The author proves that, if EX^2I{｜X｜≥t} = 0（（log log t）^-1） as t→∞, then for any a〉-1 and b〉 -1,lim ε↑1/√1＋a（1/√1＋a-ε）b＋1 ∑n=1^∞（logn）^a（loglogn）^b/nP{max κ≤n｜Sκ｜≤√σ^2π^2n/8loglogn（ε＋an）}=4/π（1/2（1＋a）^3/2）^b＋1 Г（b＋1）,whenever an = o（1/log log n）. The author obtains the sufficient and necessary conditions for this kind of results to hold.

limit theorems for non-additive probabilities or non-linear expectations are challenging issues which have attracted a lot of interest *** purpose of this paper is to study the strong law of large numbers and the law of the iterated logarithm for a sequence of random variables in a sub-linear expectation space under a concept of extended independence which is much weaker and easier to verify than the independence proposed by Peng[20].We introduce a concept of extended negative dependence which is an extension of the kind of weak independence and the extended negative independence relative to classical probability that has appeared in the recent *** tools such as moment inequality and Kolmogorov’s exponential inequality are established for these kinds of extended negatively independent random variables,and these tools improve a lot upon those of Chen,Chen and Ng[1].The strong law of large numbers and the law of iterated logarithm are also obtained by applying these inequalities.

A theoretical study of step edge geometry on sapphire(0001) and its effect on ZnO nucleation

Step-edge-induced nucleation plays a key role in controlling the growth of novel nanostructures and low-dimensional mat erials. However, it is difficult to experimentally determine the step edge structures of complex metal oxides. In this work, we present a detailed theoretical study of the stability of stoichiometTic steps on sapphire(OOOl). Based on first-principles calculations and excess charge computation by Finnis1 approach, a pair of non-polar step edges are determined to be the most stable. By studying the adsorption characteristics of ZnO and combining previous works, we successfully explained how growth temperature and deposition rate affect the in-plane orientation of ZnO grown on sapphire(OOOl). The knowledge on the step edge structures and nucleation patterns would benefit the study on step-edge-guided nanostruc ture grow th.
