Radial growth in Qinghai spruce is most sensitive to severe drought in the Qilian Mountains of Northwest China

Global warming and frequent extreme drought events lead to tree death and extensive forest decline,but the underlying mechanism is not *** drought years,cambial development is more sensitive to climate change,but in different phenological stages,the response rela-tionship is ***,the dynamic relationship between tree radial growth and climatic/environmental fac-tors needs to be *** thus continuously monitored radial growth of Qinghai spruce(Picea crassifolia Kom.)and environmental factors from January 2021 to November 2022 using point dendrometers and portable meteorological weather stations in the central area of the Qilian *** relationship and stability between the radial growth of Qinghai spruce and environmental factors were compared for different levels of drought in 2021 and *** year 2022 had higher temperatures and less precipitation and was drier than *** with 2021,the growing period in 2022 for Qinghai spruce was 10 days shorter,maximum growth rate(Grmax)was 4.5μm·d^(-1) slower,and the initiation of growth was 6 days *** of Qinghai spruce was always restricted by drought,and the stem radial increment(SRI)was more sensitive to precipitation and air relative *** changes in cumulative radial growth were divided into four phenological stages according to the time of growth onset,cessation,and maximum growth rate(Grmax)of Qinghai *** responses of SRI to climate change were stronger in Stage 3 and Stage 4 of 2021 and stronger in Stage 1(initiation growth stage)and Stage 3 of *** results provide important information on the growth of the trees in response to drought and for specific managing forests as the climate warms.

The wheel brake system of an aircraft is the key to ensure its safe landing and rejected takeoff.A wheel’s slip state is determined by the brake torque and ground adhesion torque,both of which have a large degree of *** is this nature that brings upon the challenge of obtaining high deceleration rate for aircraft brake *** overcome the disturbances caused by the above uncertainties,a braking control law is designed,which consists of two parts:runway surface recognition and wheel’s slip state *** runway surface recognition,the identification rules balancing safety and braking efficiency are defined,and the actual identification process is realized through recursive least square method with forgetting *** slip state tracking,the LuGre model with parameter adaptation and a brake torque compensation method based on RBF neural network are proposed,and their convergence are *** effectiveness of our control law is verified through simulation and ground *** in the experiments on the ground inertial test bench,compared to the improved pressure-biased-modulation(PBM)anti-skid algorithm,fewer wheel slips occur,and the average deceleration rate is increased by 5.78%,which makes it a control strategy with potential for engineering applications.

Boosting reversible charging of li-ion batteries at low temperatures by a synergy of propylene carbonate-based electrolyte and defective graphite

Propylene carbonate(PC)-based electrolytes have exhibited significant advantages in boosting the low-temperature discharging of graphite-based li-ion ***,it is still unclear whether they can improve the charging property and suppress lithium *** this topic is challenging due to the problem of electrochemical *** overcome this issue,we introduced graphite with phase *** results show that the pouch-type full batteries using PC-based electrolyte exhibit steady performance over 500 cycles and can be reversibly charged over 30 times at-20℃ with an average Coulombic efficiency of 99.95%,while the corresponding value for the conventional ethylene carbonate(EC)-based electrolyte sample is only 31.20%.This indicates that the use of PC-based electrolyte significantly suppresses lithium plating during low-temperature *** further demonstrate that the improved performance is mainly attributed to the unique solvation structure,where PF-6more anions participate in solvation,leading to the formation of a stable F-rich solid state electrolyte interface on the graphite surface and a lower reduction tendency of li+*** work inspires new ideas for the design of PC-based electrolytes for low-temperature charging and fast-charging batteries.

An efficient electrocatalyst is indispensable to significantly reduce energy consumption and accelerate the conversion efficiency of water *** this work,the honeycomb-like porous MoCo alloy on nitrogen-doped three-dimensional(3D)porous graphene substrate(Mo_(0.3)Co_(0.7)@NPG)has been synthesized from the annealing of layered double hydroxide(MoCo-LDH@NPG).Especially,the Mo_(0.3)Co_(0.7)@NPG exhibits low hydrogen evolution overpotential of 75 mV(10 mA·cm^(-2))and a Tafel slope of 69.9 mV·dec^(-1),which can be attributed to highly conductive NPG substrate,the unique nanostructure and the synergistic effect of Mo and ***,the Mo_(0.3)Co_(0.7)@NPG can maintain the original morphology and high catalytic activity after 50-h stability *** work proposes a general strategy to synthesize a multi-element alloy on conductive substrates with high porosity for electrocatalytic reaction.

Zinc ion batteries are considered as potential energy storage devices due to their advantages of low-cost,high-safety,and high theoretical ***,dendrite growth and chemical corrosion occurring on Zn anode limit their *** problems can be tackled through the optimization of the ***,the screening of electrolyte additives using normal electrochemical methods is time-consuming and ***,a fast and simple method based on the digital holography is *** can realize the in situ monitoring of electrode/electrolyte interface and provide direct information concerning ion concentration evolution of the diffusion *** is effective and time-saving in estimating the homogeneity of the deposition layer and predicting the tendency of dendrite growth,thus able to value the applicability of electrolyte *** feasibility of this method is further validated by the forecast and evaluation of thioacetamide *** on systematic characterization,it is proved that the introduction of thioacetamide can not only regulate the interficial ion flux to induce dendrite-free Zn deposition,but also construct adsorption molecule layers to inhibit side reactions of Zn *** easy to operate,capable of in situ observation,and able to endure harsh conditions,digital holography method will be a promising approach for the interfacial investigation of other battery systems.

With the development and improvement of new sequencing technology,next-generation sequencing(NGS) has been applied increasingly in cancer genomics research over the past *** recently,NGS has been adopted in clinical oncology to advance personalized treatment of *** is used to identify novel and rare cancer mutations,detect familial cancer mutation carriers,and provide molecular rationale for appropriate targeted *** to traditional sequencing,NGS holds many advantages,such as the ability to fully sequence all types of mutations for a large number of genes(hundreds to thousands) in a single test at a relatively low ***,significant challenges,particularly with respect to the requirement for simpler assays,more flexible throughput,shorter turnaround time,and most importantly,easier data analysis and interpretation,will have to be overcome to translate NGS to the bedside of cancer ***,continuous dedication to apply NGS in clinical oncology practice will enable us to be one step closer to personalized medicine.

China＇s regional transport dominance： Density, proximity, and accessibility

Transport infrastructure plays an important role in shaping the configuration of spatial socio-economic structures and influences regional accessibility. This paper defines transport dominance from three aspects： quafity, quantity, and advantage, measured by density, proximity, and accessibility indices. County is the basic unit for analysis. The results reveal：（1） Transport dominance statistically follows a partial normal distribution. A very few counties, 1.4% of the total, have extremely high transport dominance which strongly supports the socio-economic development in these areas. In contrast, one eighth of all counties have poor transport dominance which impedes local socio-economic development to some extent. The remaining areas, about 70% of the counties, have median transport dominance. （2） Transport dominance is spatially unevenly distributed, with values decreasing gradually from the coastal area to the inland area. Areas in the first-highest level of transport dominance are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Beijing area, and the Pearl River Delta. Areas in the second-highest level are focused in Chengdu, Chongqing, and Wuhan metropolitan areas. Provincial capitals and a few other counties belong to the third-highest level.

Alkyl dimethyl betaine activates the low-temperature collection capacity of sodium oleate for scheelite

The impact of alkyl dimethyl betaine (ADB) on the collection capacity of sodium oleate (NaOl) at low temperatures was evaluated using flotation tests at various scales. The low-temperature synergistic mechanism of ADB and NaOl was explored by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, surface tension measurement, foam performance test, and flotation reagent size *** flotation tests revealed that the collector mixed with octadecyl dimethyl betaine (ODB) and NaOl in a mass ratio of 4:96 exhibited the highest collection capacity. The combined collector could increase the scheelite recovery by 3.48% at low temperatures of 8–12℃. This is particularly relevant in the Luanchuan area, which has the largest scheelite concentrate output in China. The results confirmed that ODB enhanced the collection capability of NaOl by improving the dispersion and foaming performance. Betaine can be introduced as an additive to NaOl to improve the recovery of scheelite at low temperatures.

We perform benchmark calculations of the p-wave resonances in the exponentially cosine screened Coulomb potential using the uniform complex-scaling generalized pseudo-spectral *** present results show significant improvement in calculation accuracy compared to previous predictions and correct the misidentification of resonance electron configuration in previous *** is found that the resonance states approximately follow an n^(2)-scaling law which is similar to the bound *** birth of a new resonance would distort the trajectory of an adjacent higher-lying resonance.

To the Editor： A 44-year-old man with no remarkable past medical history, was admitted with I-month history of fever and lymphadenopathy. He also had night sweats, malaise. arthralgia, urine volume reduction, abdominal distention, and weight loss. Physical exainination revealed swollen lymph nodes in the neck, axillary fossae and inguinal grooves, palpable liver and spleen, shifting dullness and edema.
