Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum(1828-1899)was the first to conceptualize and describe the main clinical features of a novel psychiatric illness,which he termed catatonia in his groundbreaking monograph published 150 years *** Kahlbaum postulated catatonia as a separate disease entity characterized by psychomotor symptoms and a cyclical course,a close examination of his 26 cases reveals that most of them presented with motor symptom complexes or syndromes associated with various psychiatric and medical *** his classification system,Kraepelin categorized catatonic motor symptoms that occur in combination with psychotic symptoms and typically have a poor prognosis within his dementia praecox(schizophrenia)disease *** of the substantial influence of Kraepelin’s classification,catatonia was predominantly perceived as a component of schizophrenia for most of the 20th ***,with the advent of the psychopharmacotherapy era starting from the early 1950s,interest in catatonia in both clinical practice and research subsided until the early *** past two decades have witnessed a resurgence of interest in *** diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders Fifth Edition,marked a paradigmatic shift by acknowledging that catatonia can occur secondary to various psychiatric and medical *** introduction of an independent diagnostic category termed“Catatonia Not Otherwise Specified”significantly stimulated research in this *** authors briefly review the history and findings of recent catatonia research and highlight promising directions for future exploration.

Methionine(Met)is an essential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken embryonic development and *** present study examined the effect of in ovo injection of DL-Met and L-Met sources and genotypes on chicken embryonic-intestinal development and *** eggs of the two genotypes,TETRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—commercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype,were randomly distributed into four treatments for each *** treatment groups include the following:1)control non-injected eggs(NoIn);2)saline-injected(SaIn);3)DL-Met injected(DLM);and 4)L-Met injected(LM).The in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development;after hatching,eight chicks per group were sacrificed,and the jejunum was extracted for *** results showed that both DLM and LM groups had enhanced intestinal development as evidenced by increased villus width,villus height,and villus area(Pdin(OCLN)gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the LM group(Pdin(OCLN),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1),and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(Pdings showed that in ovo injection of Met enhanced intestinal development,and function,with genotypes responding differently under normal *** also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants,tight junction,and growth-related genes.

Negative weights in network time model

Time does not go backward.A negative duration,such as“time period”at first sight is difficult to *** network techniques(CPM/PERT/PDM)did not support negative parameters and/or loops(potentially necessitating recursive calculations)in the model because of the limited computing and data storage capabilities of early *** Roy and John Fondahl implicitly introduced negative weights into network techniques to represent activities with fixed or estimated durations(MPM/PDM).Subsequently,the introduction of negative lead and/or lag times by software developers(IBM)apparently overcome the limitation of not allowing negative time parameters in time *** to general digraph(Event on Node)representation where activities are represented by pairs of nodes and pairwise relative time restrictions are represented by weighted arrows,we can release most restraints in constructing the graph structure(incorporating the dynamic model of the inner logic of time plan),and a surprisingly flexible and handy network model can be developed that provides all the advantages of the above-mentioned *** paper aims to review the theoretical possibilities and technical interpretations(and use)of negative weights in network time models and discuss approximately 20 types of time-based restrictions among the activities of construction *** focus on pure relative time models,without considering other restrictions(such as calendar data,time-cost trade-off,resource allocation or other constraints).

In the beginning of the 1900s,the prevalence of catatonia in inpatient samples was reported to be between 19.5%and 50%.From the mid-1900s,most clinicians thought that catatonia was *** in medical sciences,particularly in the field of neurology,may have reduced the incidence of neurological diseases that present with catatonic features or mitigated their *** active pharmacological and psychosocial treatment methods may have either eliminated or moderated catatonic ***,the relatively narrow descriptive features in modern classifications compared with classical texts and ascribing catatonic signs and symptoms to antipsychotic-induced motor symptoms may have contributed to an apparent decline in the incidence of *** application of catatonia rating scales introduced in the 1990s revealed significantly more symptoms than routine clinical interviews,and within a few years,the notion of the disappearance of catatonia gave way to its unexpected *** systematic investigations have found that,on average,10%of acute psychotic patients present with catatonic *** this editorial,the changes in the incidence of catatonia and the possible underlying causes are reviewed.

Where to catch'em all?-a geographic analysis of Pokémon Go locations

In 2016,Niantic Labs released Pokémon Go,an augmented reality smartphone game that attracted millions of users *** game allows users to“catch”Pokémons through their mobile cameras in different geographic locations that often correspond to prominent *** paper analyzes the distribution of PokéStops,Pokémon gyms,and spawnpoints in selected urban areas of South Florida and *** identifies which socioeconomic variables and landuse categories affect the density of PokéStops,and how PokéStops and gyms cluster relative to each *** nearest neighbor analysis,this paper assesses also how actual PokéStop locations are reflected in Yelp’s“PokéStop nearby”*** show that black and Hispanic neighborhoods are disadvantaged when it comes to crowd-sourced data coverage,that PokéStops occur more frequently in commercial,recreational and touristic sites and around universities,and that PokéStops tend to cluster around *** latter suggests that these point sets were generated by a similar location selection *** mitigate geographically linked biases,future versions of augmented reality and geo-games should aim to make them equally accessible in all areas,for example by placing extra resources,such as points of interest,in neighborhoods that are currently underrepresented in data coverage.

Composition dependent elastic modulus and phase stability of Ni_2MnGa based ferromagnetic shape memory alloys

Ni2MnGa based ferromagnetic alloys are ideal candidates for applications such as actuators,magnetic refrigerators or magnetostrictive transducers due to their attractive properties such as magnetic field induced shape memory effect and large magnetocaloric *** properties of these alloys(e.g.,the martensitic transformation temperature TM) sensitively depend on the *** the composition dependence of these properties so as to design the alloy as desired is one of the main research topics in this *** recent years,we have investigated the composition dependent elastic modulus and phase stability of Ni2MnGa-based alloys by using a first-principles method,in hope of clarifying their connection to the properties of these *** this article,we review the main results of our *** show that the tetragonal shear modulus C' is a better predictor of the composition dependent TM than the number of valence electrons per atom(e/a) since the general TM^C' correlation works for some of the alloys for which the TM^e/a correlation fails,although there exist several cases for which both the general TM^C' and TM^e/a correlations break *** the experimentally determined modulation function,the complex 5-layer modulated(5M) structure of the martensite of Ni2MnGa and the Al-doping effect on it are *** find that the shuffle and shear of the 5M structure are linearly *** relative stability of the austenite and the martensites is examined by comparing their total *** non-modulated martensite ''' with the tetragonality of the unit cell c/a>1 is shown to be globally stable whereas the 5M martensite with c/adicted to be 0.26,in reasonable agreement with experimental findings.

Optimization of unit operations for microencapsulating ferrous fumarate during scale-up of double fortification of salt with iron and iodine

Objectives:This study evaluates factors responsible for the floating of iron premix in double fortified salt(DFS),which initially affected the large-scale implementation of the salt fortification program in India,and provides solutions to the scale-up of the *** and Methods:To mitigate this time-sensitive scale-up ***,the iron premix samples were obtained from the industrial scale-up pilot studies in India,evaluated for the impact of the amount of coating material(5 per cent,7.5 per cent,and 10 per cent(in weight)),type of formulation(soy stearin,SEPIFILM and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose),amount of titanium dioxide(25-35 per cent(in weight))used for color masking;Second,we studied the effect of change in the composition of the coating,from 10 per cent(in weight)soy stearin to a double coat with 5 per cent(in weight)hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and 5 per cent soy stearin or 10 per cent soy stearin and 1 per cent(in weight)lecithin mixture,on particle density,floating or sinking property of the iron premix,and on the stability of iodine in the ***:It was observed that the hydrophobic nature and the amount of soy stearin used for coating caused the floating *** double coating with 5 per cent hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and 5 per cent soy stearin was preferred because lecithin in soy stearin enhanced the moisture-aided adverse interaction between iron and ***-life storage studies proved over 80 per cent iodine retention after 12 months of storage in the DFS formulated with iron premix double-coated with hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and soy ***:This proffered solution enabled the full implementation of the double fortification program in India.
