In this pa.er, a. efficient scheme for recognition of ha.dwritten Odia.numera.s using hidden ma.kov model （HMM） ha. been proposed. Three different fea.ure vectors for ea.h of the numera. is genera.ed through a.polygona. a.proxima.ion of object contour. Subsequently, a.grega.ed fea.ure vector for ea.h numera. is derived from these three prima.y fea.ure vectors using a.fuzzy inference system. The fina. fea.ure vector is divided into three levels a.d interpreted a. three different sta.es for HMM. Ten different three-sta.e ergodic hidden ma.kov models （HMMs） a.e thus constructed corresponding to ten numera. cla.ses a.d pa.a.eters a.e ca.cula.ed from these models. For the recognition of a.probe numera., its log-likelihood a.a.nst these models a.e computed to decide its cla.s la.el. The proposed scheme is implemented on a.da.a.et of 2500 ha.dwritten sa.ples a.d a.recognition a.cura.y of 96.3% ha. been a.hieved. The scheme is compa.ed with other competent schemes.

The function of m^6a.is executed by m^6a.＂rea.ers＂ tha. bind to m^6a.directly （YTH doma.n-conta.ning proteins, eIF3 a.d IGF2BPs） or indirectly （HNRNPa.B1）. Recent yea.s ha.e seen a.dra.a.ic increa.e in the number of studies devoted to consistent individua. differences in beha.ior, termed "beha.iora. syndromes" or a.ima. "persona.ity". In pa.ticula., ecologists a.d evolutiona.y biologists a.ike seek to explore the functiona. consequences of individua.s' persona.ities a.d expla.a.ions for their genera. ma.ntena.ce. Understa.ding the mecha.istic underpinnings to persona.ity is a.gua.ly key to a.deeper understa.ding of their functiona. consequences a.d ma.ntena.ce. In pa.ticula., consistent individua. differences in meta.olic ra.e ha.e been proposed a. a.genera. expla.a.ion for the ma.ntena.ce of consistent individua. differences in boldness, a.gressiveness, a.d a.tivity level. In this pa.er we explore whether consistent individua. differences in boldness a.e a.socia.ed with hea. ra.e, a.proxy for meta.olic ra.e, in two species of orb-wea.ing spider: La.inioides cornutus a.d L. pa.a.ia.us. We first documented consistent individua. differences in boldness in L. cornutus but not L. pa.a.ia.us, a. estima.ed by individua.s' la.ency to resume movement following a. a.ersive stimulus. We a.so mea.ured individua.s' hea.t ra.e twice in a.sepa.a.e situa.ion. We then tested for a. a.socia.ion between individua.s' boldness a.d their hea.t ra.e during these two events. We found tha. increa.ed boldness wa. a.socia.ed with increa.ed hea.t. Thus, individua.s tha. resumed movement quickly following a. a.ersive stimulus a.so exhibited fa.ter hea.t ra.es. Our studies provide further evidence tha. consistent individua. differences in key physiologica. a.tributes, like meta.olic ra.e, might be a.genera. mecha.ism underlying consistent individua. differences in beha.ior.
