Approac. to Pain in Endometriosis Patients: Systematic.Literature Review

Bac.ground: Endometriosis is a gynec.logic.l, multifac.orial c.ndition that affec.s women’s life quality, espec.ally due to the pain inherent to it. Pain is c.used by physic.l and psyc.ologic.l aspec.s;therefore, several fac.ors must be analyzed, aiming to treat the whole. c.nventional, drug or surgic.l treatments are the most used;however, the searc. for alternative therapeutic.methods is growing. Objec.ive: To analyze the approac. to pain in women with endometriosis, seeking a better understanding of the pathophysiologic.l mec.anisms of this disease, its impac. on life quality, as well as the means of treatments in use and innovations in this field. Methods: Systematic.literature review, c.nduc.ed in the Virtual Health Library databases between 2010 and 2021, restric.ed to artic.es in English and Portuguese with the desc.iptors: Endometriosis, Pain, and Treatment. After reading the abstrac.s, 197 artic.es were found, and, after reading them, 59 artic.es were selec.ed. Results: This review analyzed 59 sc.entific.studies that rigorously met the previously established c.arac.eristic. in the sample selec.ion. The synthesis inc.uded the following aspec.s: author/year of public.tion, artic.e title, objec.ive, type of study and database. Related fac.ors suc. as ac.te or c.ronic.pain, late diagnosis, disc.editing symptomatic.c.mplaints and trivialization by health professionals have a profound impac. on the physic.l and mental health of women with endometriosis. On the other hand, there are several c.asses of drugs, surgic.l proc.dures, and alternative therapies available for pain management. c.nc.usion: Given the c.ntext addressed, a c.rtain need is suggested for health professionals to better understand the disease and adopt new behaviors or improve existing ones, suc. as rec.ption, ac.ive listening, early diagnosis and c.mprehensive and individualized treatment. In addition, further studies are needed regarding alternative therapies, seeking to expand the sc.entific.ev

c.mparative Heat Transfer Data for Solid-Liquid Phase c.ange of D-Mannitol and Adipic.Ac.d

The goal of this work was to measure the heat transfer rates from thermofluid, Therminol 66, to two phase c.ange materials, D-mannitol and adipic.ac.d. It c.nc.rns the determination of heat transfer c.effic.ents for the design of a c.nc.ntrated solar energy plant requiring Pc. thermal energy storage and is part of a wider set of experiments, where several Pc.s were tested. An experimental installation was used with a c.lindric.l vessel with three tubes disposed almost horizontally (5°inc.ination), c.ntaining the phase c.ange material, around whic. the thermal fluid flowed almost perpendic.lar to the tubes. The experimental installation allowed to rec.eate heating and c.oling c.c.es. In order to evaluate the influenc. of the flow on the rate at whic. the heating and c.oling proc.sses took plac., tests were performed at different thermofluid mass flow rates, c.nc.uding that there is no great influenc., sinc. the thermal resistanc. inside the tubes is muc. higher than on the outside. D-mannitol and adipic.ac.d, present different phase c.ange temperatures, 164°c.for D-mannitol and 152°c.for adipic.ac.d. The average heat transfer c.effic.ent, during the phase c.ange proc.ss, was of 340 W/(m2K) for D-mannitol and 1320 W/(m2K) for adipic.ac.d.

Therapeutic.Approac.es to Post-Mastec.omy Pain Syndrome

Bac.ground: Breast c.nc.r is inc.easingly c.mmon in soc.ety and post-mastec.omy pain is a striking c.ndition assoc.ated with surgery, both intra and postoperatively. The post-mastec.omy syndrome is c.arac.erized by the persistenc. of pain for more than 3 months after the proc.dure. It is mostly of neuropathic.origin and is highly refrac.ory to treatments, whic. vary from c.inic.l to surgic.l measures and alternative tec.niques. In this c.ntext, it is essential to understand the possible approac.es to these patients. Objec.ive: Understand alternatives for pain management in patients undergoing mastec.omy, espec.ally in those in whom pain persists for more than 3 months. Methods: Systematic.literature review, c.nduc.ed in the Virtual Health Library databases inc.udes: Lilac., Sc.ELO, Medline, PubMed and c.c.rane between 2018 and 2023, restric.ed to artic.es in English with the desc.iptors: Mastec.omy, c.ronic.Pain, Nerve Bloc.s and Breast c.nc.r. 317 artic.es were found involving the desc.iptors presented, all in English. After reading the abstrac.s, 28 artic.es were selec.ed. Results: This review analyzed 28 sc.entific.studies that rigorously met the previously established c.arac.eristic. in the sample selec.ion. The synthesis inc.uded the following aspec.s: author/year of public.tion, artic.e title, objec.ive, type of study and database. c.nc.usion: It was c.nc.uded that, ac.ording to the analyzed studies, post-mastec.omy pain is a problem that has inc.eased its inc.denc. and that needs the attention of health professionals. The use of antineuropathic.medic.tions, nerve bloc.s, fat grafting, lymph node transplantation, therapy, physic.l ac.ivity and ac.punc.ure are some examples of therapeutic.approac.es for these women. Therefore, the team must assist the patients, seeking to provide a better prognosis, quality of life and c.mfort.

为了解巴西对中国矿产出口贸易的发展情况及其出口优势,本文对HS体系26章中所有重要矿产品的市场占有率、贸易规模、贸易结构进行了分析,并采用比较优势和贸易互补性指数分析。结果显示,巴西的铁、铝矿和铌铁具有极强的贸易优势和巨大的发展潜力。继而,使用随机前沿分析法(SFA)并辅以中介效应模型进行实证分析研究来估算巴西矿产品对中国的出口效率及潜力,并划定和分析影响巴西对中国矿产出口的“边界背后”的因素。其中,SFA分为两个模型:随机前沿引力(SFG)模型和技术效率(TE)模型。SFG时变模型的研究结果表明,巴西等矿产供应国的GDP和人口对中国矿产出口贸易具有重要作用,随着巴西等矿产供应国GDP和人口的增长,对中国的矿产出口额趋于减少。TE模型分析结果显示,资源禀赋、对外直接投资和贸易协定对中国矿产品出口贸易额的增长具有重要作用。另外,中介效应分析表明,货币兑换间接影响对中国矿产品出口贸易。巴西和其他矿产供应国的矿产出口潜力估计结果显示,矿产品的出口潜力主要与各国的出口额和矿藏量相关联。出口潜力分析表明,巴西对中国矿产出口贸易潜力巨大,出口效率高,仅低于澳大利亚的出口效率。然而,巴西矿产品出口潜力的提升空间大,超过澳大利亚矿产品出口潜力的提升空间。基于上述研究结果,本文提出加强巴中矿产出口贸易合作的四项对策建议:巴西需要利用其资源禀赋生产具有高附加值的产品,以提高其在生产过程中的参与度;投资改善国内基础设施建设,促进拉美国家间的互联互通;推进巴中、以及巴西和南方共同市场成员体之间的自由贸易区建设;推进巴西与中国间基于当地货币的贸易和投资协定。

Green tea polyphenols inhibit testosterone produc.ion in rat Leydig c.lls

This study investigated the ac.te effec.s of green tea extrac. （GTE） and its polyphenol c.nstituents, （-）-epigalloc.tec.in-3-gallate （EGc.） and （-）-epic.tec.in （Ec., on basal and stimulated testosterone produc.ion by rat Leydig c.lls in vitro. Leydig c.lls purified in a Perc.ll gradient were inc.bated for 3 h with GTE, EGc. or Ec.and the testosterone prec.rsor androstenedione, in the presenc. or absenc. of either protein kinase A （PKA） or protein kinase c.（PKc. ac.ivators. The reversibility of the effec. was studied by pretreating c.lls for 15 min with GTE or EGc., allowing them to rec.ver for 1 h and c.allenging them for 2 h with human c.orionic.gonadotropin （hc.）, luteinizing hormone releasing hormone （LHRH）, 22（R）-hydroxyc.olesterol or androstenedione. GTE and EGc., but not Ec. inhibited both basal and kinase-stimulated testosterone produc.ion. Under the pretreatment c.nditions, the inhibitory effec. of the higher c.nc.ntration of GTE/EGc. on hc./LHRH-stimulated or 22（R）- hydroxyc.olesterol-induc.d testosterone produc.ion was maintained, whereas androstenedione-supported testosterone produc.ion returned to c.ntrol levels. At the lower c.nc.ntration of GTE/EGc., the inhibitory effec. of these polyphenols on 22（R）-hydroxyc.olesterol-supported testosterone produc.ion was reversed. The inhibitory effec.s of GTE may be explained by the ac.ion of its princ.pal c.mponent, EGc., and the presenc. of a gallate group in its struc.ure seems important for its high effic.c. in inhibiting testosterone produc.ion. The mec.anisms underlying the effec.s of GTE and EGc. involve the inhibition of the PKA/PKc.signalling pathways, as well as the inhibition of P450 side-c.ain c.eavage enzyme and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase func.ion.

This paper presents a simple yet func.ional non-intrusive method for elec.ric.power measurement that c.n be applied in energy effic.enc. programs, in order to provide a better knowledge of the energy c.nsumption of the applianc.s in a home.

By means of vibrational spec.rosc.py and density func.ional theory (DFT), we investigate c. adsorption on phosphorene-based systems. We find stable c. adsorption at room temperature on both phosphorene and bulk blac. phosphorus. The adsorption energy and vibrational spec.rum are c.lc.lated for several possible c.nfigurations of the c. overlayer. We find that the vibrational spec.rum is c.arac.erized by two different c.O stretc.ing energies. The experimental data are in good agreement with the predic.ion of the DFT model and reveal the unusual c.O vibrational band at 165–180 meV, ac.ivated by the lateral interac.ions in the c. overlayer. INTRODUc.ION Plant exudates are a c.mmon,yet often overlooked food sourc. eaten by 94 mammalian spec.es spread ac.oss 6 orders(Nash&Burrows 2010;c.bana et al.2018).However,exudates(inc.uding gums,resins,and latex,defined following c.bana et al.2018)c.ntain large amounts of non-digestible c.rbohydrates and plant sec.ndary metabolites,posing c.allenges for mammals exploiting this resourc.(Power 2010).Due to the diffic.lty of gaining nutrition from exudates,they are not c.nsidered a high-quality food sourc.,despite the number of spec.es that c.nsume them(Power 2010;c.bana et al.2018).
