Superhydrophobic poly(vin.liden. fluoride)(PVDF) membran. in.orporated with n.n.particles was applied in.membran. distillation.to recover water from phen.lic rich solution.con.ain.n. surfactan.. The membran.s coated on.woven.support were fabricated usin. phase in.ersion.with dual bath coagulation.an. post-modified usin. silan.. The membran.s in.orporated with TiO_2, SiO_2, or a mixture of TiO_2-SiO_2 n.n.particles achieved the water con.act an.le higher than.160°. The addition.of TiO_2-SiO_2 mixture in.o PVDF matrix further en.an.ed the hierarchical roughn.ss of membran.. Hen.e, PVDF/TiO_2-SiO_2 membran. achieved the highest permeation.flux an. rejected 99.9% of gallic acid in.the feed(100 g/L). PVDF/TiO_2-SiO_2 membran. also main.ain.d a relative flux(J/J0) higher than..9 after 8 h of operation. Even.with the presen.e of surfactan. in.phen.lic rich solution. PVDF/TiO_2-SiO_2 membran. was able to exhibit relative flux above 0.8. The sign.fican. chan.es on.the hydrophobicity an. chemical properties of PVDF/TiO_2-SiO_2 membran. due to foulin. were n.t observed after 50 h of static adsorption.test.
