Modifications in aroma characteristics of'Merlot'dry red wines aged in American,French and Slovakian oak barrels with different toasting degrees

Aging in oak barrels is widely used in enology which could bring flavor changes and aromatic complexity to *** the present study,the aroma compounds were analyzed from the‘Merlot’dry red wines,which were fermented in two types of fermenters(stainless steel tank and rotated oak barrel)and aged in six types of oak barrels(three geographic origins×two toasting degrees)for different time(0,3,6 and 9 months,respectively).Results showed that 30 volatiles were associated with barrels and increased during oak *** fermenters could influence the intensities of the toast,leathery,smoky,fruity,floral and caramel *** concentration of whisky lactone,eugenol,cis-isoeugenol,and the intensities of the toast and spicy aromas were highest in the wines aged in American oak and were lowest in the wines aged in French oak *** concentrations of guaiacol,syringol,trans-isoeugenol,furfural alcohol,vanilla,cis-whisky lactone enabled the medium toasting barrels to be distinguished from the light toasting *** compounds originating from the barrels could be used to distinguish the types of different barrels,but the other general grape-derived and fermentation-derived volatiles could *** fermenters,oak species and toasting degrees of the barrels all had significant effects on the aroma profiles of the aged‘Merlot’dry red wines,but the influence of the geographic origin was not obvious.

Pitting is a common type of localized corrosion in passive alloys that can cause rapid failure of material or *** the case of stainless steels,non-metallic inclusions have been identified as the most susceptible sites for pitting,and have therefore garnered significant *** review critically ex-amines the issue of how inclusions induce pitting,with a particular focus on three mechanisms:sponta-neous dissolution of inclusions,active dissolution of Cr-depleted regions,and propagation of microcracks at the inclusion-matrix *** researchers have made significant strides in understanding these mechanisms over the past few decades,many gaps and controversies *** such as the ini-tial driving force of inclusion dissolution and factors affecting Cr-depleted regions require further ***,some old concepts and methods need to be revised to arrive at more credible *** review aims to delve deeply into these important issues and provide inspiration for future research.

Shape memory polymers (SMPs) and their composites (SMPCs) are smart materials that can be stably deformed and then return to their original shape under external stimulation, thus having a memory of their shape. Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an advanced technology for fabricating products using a digital software tool. Four-dimensional (4D) printing is a new generation of additive manufacturing technology that combines shape memory materials and 3D printing technology. Currently, 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs are gaining considerable research attention and are finding use in various fields, including biomedical science. This review introduces SMPs, SMPCs, and 4D printing technologies, highlighting several special 4D-printed structures. It summarizes the recent research progress of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs in various fields, with particular emphasis on biomedical applications. Additionally, it presents an overview of the challenges and development prospects of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs and provides a preliminary discussion and useful reference for the research and application of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs.

The aim of this work is to develop a venlafaxine hydrochloride sustained release system based on hollow mesoporous silica microspheres(HMSMs).HMSMs were innovatively prepared with tetraethyl silicate(TEOS)as the precursor and volatile n-heptane as a soft *** obtained HMSMs show a well-defined hollow structure with an average size of 967 nm and pore volume of 0.85 cm^(3)/g,implying it is a potential drug ***,venlafaxine hydrochloride(VF)was absorbed in the HMSMs with a content of 37.67% or *** sustained release effect is further measured by the dissolution in-strument at 37℃ and 50 rpm in ultrapure *** results showed that the HMSMs/VF system shows good sustained release properties compared with sustained release tablets with hydroxypropyl meth-ylcellulose as the main *** HMSMs sustained release system appears to be a promising candidate for a sustained drug release.

Synergistic effects and kinetics analysis for co-pyrolysis of vacuum residue and plastics

This study utilizedathermogravimetric analyzer to assess the thermal decomposition behaviors and kinetics properties of vacuum residue(VR)and low-density polyethylene(LDPE)*** kinetic parameters were calculated using the Friedman *** demonstrate the interactive effects between LDPE and VR during the co-pyrolysis process,the disparity in mass loss and mass loss rate between the experimental and calculated values was *** co-pyrolysis curves obtained through estimation and experimentation exhibited significantdeviations,whichwerei influencedby temperature and mixing ratio.A negative synergistic interaction was observed between LDPE and VR,although this inhibitory effect could be mitigated or eliminated by reducing the LDPE ratio in the mixture and increasing the ***-pyrolysisprocess resulted in a reduction in carbon residue,which could be attributed to the interaction between LDPE and the heavy fractions,particularly resin and asphaltene,present in *** findings align with the pyrolysis behaviors exhibited by the four VR ***,it was observed that the co-pyrolysis process exhibited lower activation energy as the VR ratio increased,indicating a continuous enhancement in the reactivity of the mixed samples during co-pyrolysis.

The extraction of radioactive minor actinides(An(Ⅲ))from lanthanides(Ln(Ⅲ))is an extremely impor-tant step in nuclear waste *** ligands with high-performance actinide-selectivity re-mains an essential *** works have reported that some polyazole based ligands exhibit good An(Ⅲ)/Ln(Ⅲ)separation ***,we first evaluated the effects of different polyazole side chains on the Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)selectivity by exploring three pyridine-derived polyazole ligands L^(1),L^(2)and L^(3)with 1,2,4-triazole,1,2,3-triazole,and pyrazole side chains,respectively,using scalar relativistic theoretical *** coordination structures,bonding properties and thermodynamic behaviors of AmL(NO_(3))_(3)and EuL(NO_(3))_(3)complexes were investigated,which clarifies that the side chains do affect the electronic structure of ligand and its selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)***,L^(1)with 1,2,4-triazole side chains exhibited the highest selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)over Eu(Ⅲ)while the lowest complexation ability for metal ions among the three pyridine-derived polyazole ***,we designed a new ligand L^(4)con-taining 1,2,4-triazole side chains and a preorganized phenanthroline ***,such a new ligand was verified to show stronger complexation ability and higher selectivity for Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)ions than L^(1).This work clarifies the complexation nature of polyazole based ligands with Am(Ⅲ)/Eu(Ⅲ)ions and provides design strategies for highly efficient polyazole based ligands for An(Ⅲ)/Ln(Ⅲ)separation.

The achievement of ignition at the National Ignition Facility(NIF)has prompted a global wave of further research on inertial fusion energy(IFE).However,IFE requires a target gain G of 30-100,and it is hard to achieve fusion at such high gain with the energy,configuration,and technical approach of the ***,we present a conceptual design for a next-generation laser driver that is applicable to multiple laser fusion schemes and provides 10 MJ,2-3 PW at 3ω(or 2ω,in which case the energy and power can be higher),and one shot per 30 min,with the aim of achieving G>*** is also efficient,compact,and low in cost,and it has low susceptibility to laser-plasma instabilities.

Ethnographic Research on the Formation Path of Preschool Children’s Peer Cultures

As a major branch of children’s studies and a clear manifestation of adherence to a child-oriented position,research on children’s peer cultures is of significant value for understanding the true world of *** an ethnographic approach,this study conducts in-depth field observations in three kindergartens to explore how preschool children create their peer *** results indicate that the children in three kindergartens created a series of meaningful symbols within their respective kindergarten settings during peer interaction and formed their peer *** study finds that:Firstly,children’s peer cultures encompass five core themes,namely,self-presentation,friendly interaction,conflict and segregation,collective play routines,and secondary adjustments to classroom ***,the development of children’s selves,shared play among children,interpretive reconstruction of adult cultures,and inclusiveness of school cultures are inherent sources of strength,core driving force,mechanisms for the path,and external environmental factors of the formation of children’s peer ***,children gain membership in the cultures to which they belong through collective participation in social ***,children produce peer cultures and contribute to the renewal of adult cultures by creatively appropriating information and knowledge from the adult *** this connection,it is essential for kindergartens to support the development of children’s peer cultures.
