The interaction between metabolic dysfunction and inflammation is central to the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s ***-related conditions like type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease exacerbate this *** lipid accumulation,particularly in the liver,initiates a cascade of inflammatory processes that extend to the brain,influencing critical metabolic regulatory *** and palmitate,key lipid components,along with lipid transporters lipocalin-2 and apolipoprotein E,contribute to neuroinflammation by disrupting blood–brain barrier integrity and promoting *** insulin resistance further exacerbates brain insulin resistance and *** interventions targeting peripheral lipid metabolism and insulin signaling pathways have shown promise in reducing neuroinflammation in animal ***,translating these findings to clinical practice requires further investigation into human *** conclusion,metabolic dysfunction,peripheral inflammation,and insulin resistance are integral to neuroinflammation and *** these complex mechanisms holds potential for identifying novel therapeutic targets and improving outcomes for neurodegenerative diseases.

nipa palm is one of the non-wood plants rich in lignocellulosic *** this study,palm fronds were converted into activated carbon,and their physical,chemical,and morphological properties were *** resulting activated carbon was then applied as an adsorbent of Fe metal in peat *** carbonization process was carried out for 60 min,followed by sintering at 400℃ for 5 h with a particle size of 200 *** and H_(3)PO_(4) were used in the chemical activation process for 24 ***-activated carbon contained 6.13%of moisture,4.55%of ash,17.02%of volatile matter,and 78.84%of fixed carbon,while its Fe reduction efficiency was 28.09%.The H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon contained 4.67%of moisture,2.84%of ash,16.41%of volatile matter,and 80.57%of bonded carbon,and the Fe reduction efficiency was 52.25%.KOH-activated carbon and H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon contained fixed carbon of 78.84%and 80.57%,respectively,while their average rates of efficiency of Fe reduction were 22.82%and 39.23%,***,the characteristics of activated nipa carbon met the Indonesian standards(SnI no.06-3730-1995).However,H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon was found to be better at adsorbing Fe metal from peat water.

The adsorption of Pb(II)on silica gel synthesized from chemical glass bottle waste has been *** effect of independent variables(adsorbent dose,initial concentration of Pb(II),contact time,and pH)on the Pb(II)removal from water was evaluated and optimized using the Response Surface Methodology(RSM).Under optimized conditions(adsorbent dose:20 mg;contact time:30 min;initial Pb(II)concentration:120 mg.L^(−1);and pH:8),the removal of Pb(II)was 99.77%.The adsorption equilibrium data obtained from the batch experiment were investigated using different isotherm *** Langmuir isotherm model fits the experimental *** shows that the surface of the silica gel synthesized from chemical bottles waste was covered by a Pb(II)*** analysis showed that the synthesized silica gel had a SiO_(2) content of 75.63%.Amorphous silica was observed from XRD ***-EDX characterization showed that Pb was adsorbed on the silica gel *** analysis showed that silica gel has irregular particles with a surface area of 297.08 m2.g^(−1) with a pore radius of 15.74 nm calculated from BET analysis.

A misfit layer sulfide(BiS)_(1.2)(TiS_(2))_(2) with a natural superlattice structure has been shown to be a promising thermoelectric material,but its high carrier concentration should be reduced so as to further optimize the thermoelectric ***,ordinary acceptor doping has not succeeded because of the non-parabolic band *** this paper,we have successfully doped chromium ions into the Ti sites,which can maintain or even enhance the high effective mass of electrons so as to effectively improve ZT value.X-ray diffraction analysis,coupled with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,shows that chromium has been substituted into titanium sites in TiS2 layers and confirms its ionic *** chromium doping has successfully reduced the carrier concentration with the subsequent reduction of electrical *** other acceptor dopants(alkaline earth metals),chromium also enhances Seebeck coefficient and the effective mass,which can possibly be attributed to the formation of additional resonant states near Fermi *** the power factor does not improve,the significant reduction in the electronic part of the thermal conductivity leads to a measurable improvement in ZT.

Economic co-operation at the regional and sub-regional level has been an important feature ofthe economic development policies of developing countries. The Economic Community of WestAfrican States （ECOWAS） was established in1975with a view to promote economic co-operation and integration in West Africa. The creation marked the successful outcome ofprotracted negotiations that had began shortly after independence, which reflected the mountingsense of unease in Africa and throughout the third world that political independence did notsignify effective control of the new states of their economies, The reality was, majority of themwere either too small or too poor to make any reasonable impact in the emerging internationalpolitical economy, hence the need for a platform on which all the countries of the region can pulltheir economics together to form a collective front for the benefit of all. But almost four decadesafter the ECOWAS treaty was signed by member states, the desired economic gains fromintegrating their economies is still far from being achieved as the integrating process has taken avery slow pace. Findings by this research revealed two broad interwoven factors responsible for the slow pace ofeconomic integration in ECOWAS, economic and political factors. It was discovered that weakcommitment by the three major and largest economies （nIGERIA, GHAnA AnD COTED’IVOIRE） which accounts for almost70%of the total ECOWAS population and contributesabout80%of it GDP, In implementing ECOWAS policies and protocols has led to tradeprotectionism and setting up of trade barriers leading to very low trade among them. This is sobecause their economies are competitive rather than complimentary. Political factors considered to have had a great effect include instability in the polity occasionedby civil wars and unrest in West Africa, weak political institutions, national policies, overlappingmembership as well as failure of the three major economies to provide the needed lea

Eucalypts are important forest resources in southwestern China,and may be tolerant to elevated ground-level ozone(O3)concentrations that can negatively affect plant *** CO2 may offset O3-induced effects by providing excess carbon to produce secondary metabolites or by inducing stomatal ***,the effects of elevated CO2 and O3 on leaf secondary metabolites and other defense chemicals were studied by exposing seedlings of Eucalyptus globulus,***,and ***×*** to a factorial combination of two levels of O3(nmol mol^(−1)and 60 nmol mol^(−1))and CO2(ambient:370μmol mol^(−1)and 600μmol mol^(−1))in open-top field ***-profiles of leaf extracts illustrated the effect of elevated O3 and the countering effect of high CO2 on compounds in leaf epicuticular wax and essential oils,i.e.,n-icosane,geranyl acetate and elixene,compounds known as a first-line defense against insect herbivores.n-Icosane may be involved in tolerance mechanisms of *** and the hybrid,while geranyl acetate and elixene in the tolerance of *** O3 and CO2,singly or in combination,affected only leaf physiology but not biomass of various *** CO2 impacted several leaf traits,including stomatal conductance,leaf mass per area,carbon,lignin,n-icosane,geranyl acetate and *** effects of elevated O3 on leaf physiology(nitrogen,n-icosane,geranyl acetate,elixene)were commonly offset by elevated *** conclude that ***,*** and the hybrid were tolerant to these O3 and CO2 treatments,and n-icosane,geranyl acetate and elixene may be major players in tolerance mechanisms of the tested species.

Adopting community-based innovations in agroforestry is key to enhancing livelihoods in forest farmer *** research aimed to explore the perceived advantages of the forest farmer technique of coffee branch bending to overcome the light limitations under the shade of a pine *** concepts of perceived characteristics of innovation were used to explore the advantages of this *** a case study of an exclusive forest farmer clique in UB(University of Brawijaya)Forest in Indonesia,it was found that the local technique had high perceived relative *** to the others,the bending technique increases coffee production and is easy to *** was also found to be superior to reducing production costs and is perceived as more environmentally friendly,promoting it as a valuable sustainable *** experts need to validate it and may embrace it as a co-innovation for the available external agroforestry *** adaptability to the local socio-ecological context and techno-economical constraints makes it a prospective innovation to be extended through social forestry programs.

The eastern part of Java Island is transversed by major faults such as Cepu,Blumbang,Surabaya,and Waru Segment,part of the Kendeng Fault,Wonsorejo Fault,Pasuruan Fault,and Probolinggo *** to the major fault,we used decomposition of identified fault from the Global navigation Satellite System(GnSS)observation data to identify the potential of local *** analyzed surface deformation due to the effect of major fault using scaling law and elastic half-space *** investigated the possibility of unidentified fault using strain rates based on velocity vector data before and after correcting the effect of a major *** found that strain calculation for principal strain value in the eastern part of Java Island is less than one microstrain/year and the dominant one with a compression pattern due to the Sunda subduction *** maximum shear strain rate value goes from 0.002 to 0.094 microstrain/year,and the dilatation rate value ranges from-0.141 to 0.038 microstrain/year,which correlates with the reverse of the Kendeng Fault.A higher compression pattern outside the major fault in a differential maximum shear strain rate might indicate a local fault.
