Background: HPV infection represents an im.ortant etiologic factor for Oropharyngeal Squam.us Cell Carcinom. (OPSCC). The different ethnic backgrounds could be related to different susceptibility to Hum.n Papillom.virus (HPV). The aim.of our study was to assess the whole of genetic ancestry in HPV status in OPSCC patients. m.thods: We conducted a cross-sectional study on patients with OPSCC adm.tted to the Barretos Cancer Hospital, Brazil from.2014 to 2019. Of these, DNA extraction was perform.d on 40 patients and genetic ancestry was assessed using a specific panel of 46 inform.tive ancestry m.rkers. Results: We observed a predom.nance of European ancestry (63%), followed by African (18%), Am.rindian (9%) and Asian (8%) both in the OPSCC HPV-positive and HPV-negative group. We did not find any statistically significant differences between the HPV-positive and HPV-negative OPSCC groups in relation to European (p = 0.499), African (p = 0.448), Asian (p = 0.275) or Am.rindian (p = 0.836) ancestry. Conclusions: We found a predom.nance of European ancestry, both in the HPV-positive and HPV-negative groups. In our study, we did not find statistically significant differences between HPV-positive or HPV-negative groups in relation to ancestry.

The prim.ry purpose of this work is to reproduce the scenario com.osed of a charge-dyon system.utilizing position-dependent effective m.ss(PDm. background in the non-relativistic and in the relativistic regim.s. In the nonrelativistic case we substitute the exact charge-dyon eigenfunction into PDm.Schr?dinger equation, in the Zhu-Kroem.r param.trization, and then solve it for the m.ss distribution considering m.= m.r). Analogously, in the relativistic case we study the Klein-Gordon equation for a position-dependent m.ss, and in this case, we are able to analytically solve the equation for m.= m.r, θ).

The developm.nt of high-resolution nanosized photoacoustic contrast agents is an exciting yet challenging technological advance. Herein, antibody （breast cancer-associated antigen I （Brcaal） m.noclonal antibody）- and peptide （RGD）- functionalized gold nanoprism. （AuNprs） were used as a com.inatorial m.thodology for in situ photoacoustic im.ging, angiography, and localized hypertherm.a using orthotopic and subcutaneous m.rine gastric carcinom. m.dels. RGD-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are available for tum.r angiography, and Brcaal m.nodonal antibody-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are used for targeting and for in situ im.ging of gastric carcinom. in orthotopic tum.r m.dels. In situ photoacoustic im.ging allowed for anatom.cal and functional im.ging at the tum.r site. In vivo tum.r angiography im.ging showed enhancem.nt of the photoacoustic signal in a tim.-dependent m.nner. Furtherm.re, photoacoustic im.ging dem.nstrated that tum.r vessels were clearly dam.ged after localized hypertherm.a. This is the first proof-of-concept using two AuNprs probes as highly sensitive contrasts and therapeutic agents for in situ tum.r detection and inhibition. These sm.rt antibody/peptide AuNprs can be used as an efficient nanotheranostic platform.for in vivo tum.r detection with high sensitivity, as well as for tum.r targeting therapy which, with a single-dose injection, results in tum.r size reduction and increases m.ce survival after localized hypertherm.a treatm.nt.

The therapeutic prom.se of sm.ll interfering RNAs （siRNAs） for specific gene silencing is dependent on the successful delivery of functional siRNAs to the cytoplasm. Their conjugation to an established delivery platform. such as gold nanoparticles, offers trem.ndous potential for treating diseases and advancing our understanding of cellular processes. Their success or failure is dependent on both the uptake of the nanoparticles into the cells and subsequent intracellular release of the functional siRNA. In this study, utilizing gold nanoparticle siRNA-m.diated delivery against C-m.C, we aim.d to determ.ne if we could achieve knockdown in a cancer cell line with low levels of intracellular glutathione, and determ.ne the influence, if any, of polyethylene glycol （PEG） ligand density on knockdown, with a view to determ.ning the optim.l nanoparticle design to achieve C-m.C knockdown. We dem.nstrate that, regardless of the PEG density, knockdown in cells with relatively low glutathione levels can be achieved, as well as the possible effect of steric hindrance of PEG on the availability of the siRNA for cleavage in the intracellular environm.nt. Gold nanoparticle uptake was dem.nstrated via transm.ssion electron m.croscopy and m.ss spectroscopy, while knockdown was determ.ned at the protein and physiological levels （cells in S-phase） by in-cell westerns and BrdU incorporation, respectively.

Processing of m.terials in the form.of ceram.cs norm.lly involves several steps including calcination at a relatively low tem.erature for synthesis of the end-product powder and sintering at a high tem.erature for *** work we have been developing introduces a novel approach enabling synthesis plus sintering of m.terials in a single running experim.nt by using electric fields,ending with dense ceram.cs that display grains noticeably finer than in conventional *** new paradigm.is fully illustrated with experim.nts conducted on am.rphous CaCu3Ti4O12 precursor powder,shown to experience,on heating,crystallization through interm.diate phases,followed by chem.cal reaction leading to synthesis of the end-product powder,plus densification depending on field *** processing tim. and furnace tem.erature are considerably reduced,dem.nstrating that enhanced synthesis and sintering rates applied under field *** results found in Bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12are also *** different factors that m.y contribute to this unique scenario,including Joule heating,defect generation,and reduction of free energy for nuclei form.tion prom.ted by the applied field,are briefly ***,the findings we bring here are exclusive as they show an exploitable way that allows rapid processing of m.terials with good control over particle and grain coarsening.

Effect of silym.rin on biochem.cal indicators in patients with liver disease: system.tic review with m.ta-analysis

To evaluate the effect of silym.rin on the serum.levels of alanine am.notransferase (ALT), aspartate am.notransferase (AST) and gam.a glutam.l transpeptidase (γGT) in patients with liver diseases. m.THODSA system.tic review with m.ta-analysis of ram.om.zed and controlled clinical trials was perform.d, evaluating the effects of sylim.rin in patients with hepatic diseases, published by January 31, 2016. Clinical trials were sought on the basis of The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials in the Cochrane Library, Pubm.d/m.dline, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs and Clinical Trials. The trials with adult and elderly patients of both sexes, with Liver Diseases who took oral silym.rin supplem.ntation, as extract or isolated, as well as Silym.rin com.ined with other nutrients, were included. The trials should provide inform.tion about the intervention, such as dosages and detailing of the product used, besides the m.an and standard deviation of serum.levels of ALT, AST and γGT of the baseline and at the end of the intervention. RESULTSAn am.unt of 10904 publications were identified. From.those, only 17 were included in the system.tic review and 6 in the m.ta-analysis, according to the used selection criteria. In this m.ta-analysis, the results indicated a reduction of 0.26 IU/m. (95%CI: -0.46-0.07, P = 0.007) at the level of ALT and 0.53 IU/m. (95%CI: -0.74-0.32, P = 0.000) at the serum.levels of AST after using the silym.rin, both, statistically significant, but with no clinical relevance. There was no significant change in the γGT levels. Subgroup analyzes were also perform.d for the biochem.cal m.rkers in relation to the type of intervention, whether silym.rin isolated or associated with other nutrients and the tim. of intervention (whether ≥ 6 m. or m.). Significant differences were not found. The evaluated studies presented a high degree of heterogeneity and low m.thodological quality in the carried out analysis.
