SiGe-based thermoelectric(TE)materials have gained increasing interests due to their low maintenance costs,environmental friendliness and long ***,the intrinsically high thermal conductivity of Si-based materials also results in poor TE *** this investigation,a zirconia(ZrO_(2))composite strategy was applied to an n-type SiGe alloy,tremendously elevating its TE *** mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering(SPS)processes,the ZrO_(2)induced the formation of nanopores in the SiGe matrix via phosphorus ***,such increase in porosity enhanced the phonon scattering and dramatically suppressed lattice thermal conductivity,from 2.83 to 1.59 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at 873 ***,reduced phosphorus doping led to an increase in Seebeck coefficients and a relatively minor decrease in electrical conductivity,The power factor didn't deteriorate significantly,either,as its maximum of~3.43 mW·m^(-1-)K^(-2)was achieved at 873 K with(Si_(0.8)Ge_(0.2))_(0.097)P_(0.03)(ZrO_(2))_(0.003).In short,a peak figure of merit(ZT)of~1.27 at 873 K and an average ZT~0.7 from 323 to 873 K were *** study demonstrates that the electrical and thermal transportation of SiGe material can be synergistically tuned by compositing ZrO_(2),illustrating a novel strategy to optimize the TE properties of bulk materials.

BACKGROUND Visceral leishmaniasis(VL)is a parasitic disease caused by Leishmania and transmitted by infected sand *** has a low incidence in China,and its clinical presentation is complex and *** disease is easily misdiagnosed and can become life-threatening within a short period of ***,early,rapid and accurate diagnosis and treatment of the disease are *** SUMMARY A 25-year-old male patient presented with the clinical manifestations of irregular fever,hepatosplenomegaly,increased polyclonal globulin,and *** first bone marrow puncture biopsy did not provide a clear *** order to relieve the pressure and discomfort of the organs caused by the enlarged spleen and to confirm the diagnosis,splenectomy was performed,and hemophagocytic syndrome was diagnosed by pathological examination of the spleen *** bone marrow and spleen pathological re-diagnosis and metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)technology detection,the patient was finally diagnosed with *** treatment with liposomal amphotericin B,the body temperature quickly returned to normal and the hemocytes recovered ***-treatment re-examination of the bone marrow puncture and mNGS data showed that Leishmania was not *** As a fast and accurate detection method,mNGS can diagnose and evaluate the efficacy of treatment in suspicious cases of leishmaniasis.

Microstructure and tribological properties of carburized 95W–3.5Ni–1.0Fe–0.5Co heavy alloy

Tungsten heavy alloys(WHAs) produced by powder technology are widely used for the mechanical manufacturing, electronic and defense components, *** properties of these alloys need to be improved to meet the severe service conditions demanded. Carburization is a promising way to resolve this problem. In this work, microstructure and tribological properties of the carburized 95W–3.5Ni–1.0Fe–0.5Co heavy alloy were investigated in comparison with those of the untreated alloy. Results show that the carburized layer consists of a porous, outer WC layer and a modified W grain layer surrounded by Fe_6W_6C and Co_6W_6C at 970℃, regardless of the carburizing time. The depth of the carburized layer linearly increases in a relatively short time and slightly increases during the subsequent period. Surface roughness increases with carburizing time. Carburization can stabilize friction coefficient and effectively improve the wear resistance of the tungsten heavy alloy due to its significantly increased hardness and non-deformability, but the porous structure in the WC layer has a negative influence on its wear resistance. The carburized layer is damaged in the porous WC layer in the form of the spalling of WC particles where there are some microcracks and micropores, accompanied with peeling due to the solid tribofilm being pushed away.

Biomarkers for colitis-associated colorectal cancer

Patients with extensive ulcerative colitis(UC) of more than eight years duration have an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Molecular biomarkers for dysplasia and cancer could have a great clinical value in managing cancer risk in these UC patients. Using a wide range of molecular techniques- including cutting-edge OMICS technologies- recent studies have identified clinically relevant biomarker candidates from a variety of biosamples, including colonic biopsies, blood, stool, and urine. While the challenge remains to validate these candidate biomarkers in multi-center studies and with larger patient cohorts, it is certain that accurate biomarkers of colitis-associated neoplasia would improve clinical management of neoplastic risk in UC patients. This review highlights the ongoing avenues of research in biomarker development for colitis-associated colorectal cancer.

An Improved BP Algorithm and Its Application in Classification of Surface Defects of Steel Plate

Artificial neural network is a new approach to pattern recognition and classification. The model of multilayer perceptron （MLP） and back-propagation （BP） is used to train the algorithm in the artificial neural network. An improved fast algorithm of the BP network was presented, which adopts a singular value decomposition （SVD） and a generalized inverse matrix. It not only increases the speed of network learning but also achieves a satisfying precision. The simulation and experiment results show the effect of improvement of BP algorithm on the classification of the surface defects of steel plate.

Effect of Pressure on Thermal Stability and Decomposition of KDP Crystal

Effect of pressure on thermal behavior of KDP crystals is investigated by using the in-situ infrared reflective *** with that under normal atmosphere,the onset temperature of decomposition under pressure of 1 MPa is improved to from 210℃to 213℃,suggesting that the thermal stability of KDP is *** pressure of 2 MPa,the thermal stability is deteriorated and KDP begins to decompose at 183℃.Under normal atmosphere KDP decomposes in route of translating to K_(4)P_(2)O_(7)firstly,and then to KPO_(3).Under pressures of 1 MPa and 2MPa,KDP translates to KPO_(3)directly without any other polymeric intermediates.

Microporous bamboo biochar for lithium-sulfur batteries

Being simple, inexpensive, scalable and environmentally friendly, microporous biomass biochars have been attracting enthusiastic attention for application in lithium-sulfur （Li-S） batteries. Herein, porous bamboo biochar is activated via a KOH/annealing process that creates a microporous structure, boosts surface area and enhances electronic conductivity. The treated sample is used to encapsulate sulfur to prepare a microporous bamboo carbon-sulfur （BC-S） nanocomposite for use as the cathode for Li-S batteries for the first time. The BC-S nanocomposite with 50 wt.% sulfur content delivers a high initial capacity of 1,295 mA-h/g at a low discharge rate of 160 mA/g and high capacity retention of 550 mA-h/g after 150 cycles at a high discharge rate of 800 mA/g with excellent coulombic efficiency （995%）. This suggests that the BC-S nanocomposite could be a promising cathode material for Li-S batteries.
