By making an evaluation index system and using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) to determine the evaluation factor's weights, this paper builds the valuation model ofEco-environmental stability of Tibet and uses the overlay function of raster-GIS (geographicinformation systems) to make a result map and finds the distribution characteristics ofEco-environmental stability of Tibet based on the analysis of result map. The study shows that theEco-environmental stability of Tibet is almost good andthe unstable region which is only 9. 78% ofthe total area of Tibet is distributed in the middle and low reaches of yarlung river. To protectthe Eco-environmental of the unstable area from farther degenerating, the government should pay moreattention on the Eco-environmental construction work on this area.

Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

A liquid-phase isoelectric focusing electrophoresis system(Rotofor) was used as the prefractionation tool for the sample preparation in the MALDI-MS analysis of a protein mixture. Each fraction collected was then directly subjected to MALDI-TOF-MS analysis. By this approach, we are able to resolve two types of hemoglobins, A and C, which cannot be successfully separated by means of the traditional SDS-PAGE method.

A water soluble crude extract prepared from Ornithogalum caudatum Ait. (OCA) showing a high immunomodulating activitiy was isolated and characterized by virtue of gel filtration and column chromatography. The presence of the monosaccharides has been established by the chemical analysis. The quantitative analysis of the alditol acetate derivatives of them showed the ratios of the monosaccharides analyzed by means of GC respectively. The concentrations of protein(280 nm) and carbohydrate(496 nm) were detected respectively. The information of the molecular weight from the pure polysaccharide was obtained by several standard Dextrans from the Sephadex chromatography.

The fractal geometry to the study of soil structure, its dynamics, andphysical processes appears to be a useful tool in reaching a better understanding of systemperformance. This research was designed to apply fractal models for mass into computingD_p and D_avalues. As a result, the relationships among land use methods, fractal dimension and soil fertilityhave been discussed. The study conclusions include that (i) fractal dimension indicates not onlycharacteristics of soil texture but also effects of natural environment changes and human activitieson soil properties, (ii) soil fertility is best when D_pnge the depth of 15-20 cm inthestudy area, but maximal values of D_a are different and distribute in various profile *** results can provide an important support to understand soil properties in plateau soil-formingenvironment, and be helpful to conduct scientific soil tillage and management.

The inclusion complexes of α-cyclodextrin(α-CD) and FcCO_2(CH_2)_(18)(FcSH)and their self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold surface were investigated by electrospray tandemionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS~n) and cyclic voltammetry, respectively. The interfacialelectrochemical response of the SAMs is related to the way in which the inclusion complexes formed.

The K = 1/2 rotational band in 171yb is investigated using the particle number conserving (PNC) method for treating the cranked shell model with monopole and quadrupole pairing interactions. The experimental moments of inertia of 171 yb [521]1/2 (signature α = +1/2) are reproduced well by the PNC calculation, in which no free parameter is involved. The difference in the contribution to the moment of inertia between protons and neutrons is mainly due to the blocking effect of neutron normal orbitals. The ω variation of the occupation probability of each cranked orbital and the contribution to the moment of inertia from each major shell and from each cranked orbital are investigated.

Streamflow and Soil Moisture of Agroforestry and Grass Watersheds in Hilly Area

A study was conducted in a hilly area of Sichuan Province,Southwestern China, to compare the streamflow and soil moisture in two upland watersheds with different land use patterns. One was an agroforestry watershed, which consisted mainly of trees with alder (Alnus cremastogyne Burkill) and cypress (Cupressus funebris Endl.) planted in belts or strips with a coverage of about 46%, and the other was a grassland primarily composed of lalang grass (Imperata cylindrica var. major (Nees) C. E. Hubb.), filamentary clematis (Clematis filamentosa Dunn) and common eulaliopsis (Eulaliopsis binata (Retz.) C. E. Hubb) with a coverage of about 44%. Streamflow measurement with a hydrograph established at the watershed outlet showed that the average annual streamflow per 100 mm rainfall from 1983 to 1992 was 0.36 and 1.08 L s-1 km-2 for the agroforestry watershed and the grass watershed, respectively. This showed that the streamflow of the agroforestry watershed was reduced by 67% when compared to that of the grass watershed. The peak average monthly streamflow in the agroforestry watershed was over 5 times lower than that of the grass watershed and lagged by one month. In addition, the peak streamflow during a typical rainfall event of 38.3 mm in August 1986 was 37% lower in the agroforestry watershed than in the grass watershed. Results of the moisture contents of the soil samples from 3 slope locations (upper, middle and lower slopes) indicated that the agroforestry watershed maintained generally higher soil moisture contents than the grass watershed within 0-20 and 20-80 cm soil depths for the upper slope, especially for the period from May through July. For the other (middle and lower) slopes, soil moisture contents within 20-80 cm depth in the agroforestry watershed was generally lower than those in the grass watershed, particularly in September, revealing that water consumption by trees took place mainly below the plow layer.
