Tumor suppressor genes cooperate with each other in tumors.Three important tumor suppressor proteins,retinoblastoma(Rb),p53,phosphatase,and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten(PTEN)are functionally associated and they regulated by posttranslational modification(PTMs)as well.PTMs include phosphorylation,SUMOylation,acetylation,and other novel modifications becoming growing appreciated.Because most of PTMs are reversible,normal cells use them as a switch to control the state of cells being the resting or proliferating,and PTMs also involve in cell survival and cell cycle,which may lead to abnormal proliferation and tumorigenesis.Although a lot of studies focus on the importance of each kind of PTM,further discoveries shows that tumor suppressor genes(TSGs)form a complex“network”by the interaction of modification.Recently,there are several promising strategies for TSGs for they change more frequently than carcinogenic genes in cancers.We here review the necessity,characteristics,and mechanisms of each kind of post-translational modification on Rb,p53,PTEN,and its influence on the precise and selective function.We also discuss the current antitumoral therapies of Rb,p53 and PTEN as predictive,prognostic,and therapeutic target in cancer.

The commercialization of the lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries is severely hampered by the shuttle effect and sluggish kinetics of lithium polysulfides(Li PSs).In this study,porous tubular graphitic carbon nitride(PTCN)was synthesized as the sulfur host by hydrothermal treatment,thermal shock and etching methods.By etching technology,the hollow nanotube tentacles grow on the tube wall of PTCN,the mesoporous appears on the inner wall,and a large number of nitrogen defects are introduced.The verticallyrooted hollow nanotube tentacles on the PTCN surface facilitate electron conduction for sulfur redox reactions.The hollow and porous architecture exposes plentiful active interfaces for accelerated redox conversion of polysulfide.Furthermore,the nitrogen defects in PTCN enable more excellent intrinsic conductivity,higher adsorbability and conversion catalytic activity to Li PSs.Based on the above synergetic effect,the batteries with PTCN/S cathodes realize a high discharge capacity of 504 m Ah g^(-1) at 4 C and a stable cycling behavior over 500 cycles with a low capacity decay of 0.063%per cycle.The results indicate a promising approach todesigning a high performance electrode material for Li-S batteries.

This paper addresses the distributed adaptive optimization problem over second-order multi-agent networks(MANs)with nonuniform gradient gains.A general convex function consisting of a sum of local differentiable convex functions is chosen as the team objective function.First,based on the local information of each agent’s neighborhood,a novel distributed adaptive optimization algorithm with nonuniform gradient gains is designed,where these gains only have relations with agents’own states.And then,the original closed-loop system is changed into an equivalent one by taking a coordination transformation.Moreover,it is proved that the states including positions and velocities of all agents are bounded by constructing a Lyapunov function provided that the initial values are given.By the theory of Lyapunov stability,it is shown that all agents can finally reach an agreement and their position states converge to the optimal solution of the team objective function asymptotically.Finally,the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results is demonstrated by several simulation examples.

Dissolved organic matter（DOM） is ubiquitous in the environment and has high reactivity.Once engineered nanoparticles（ENPs） are released into natural systems, interactions of DOM with ENPs may significantly affect the fate and transport of ENPs, as well as the bioavailability and toxicity of ENPs to organisms. However, because of the complexity of DOM and the shortage of useful characterization methods, large knowledge gaps exist in our understanding of the interactions between DOM and ENPs. In this article, we systematically reviewed the interactions between DOM and ENPs, discussed the effects of DOM on the environmental behavior of ENPs, and described the changes in bioavailability and toxicity of ENPs caused by DOM. Critical evaluations of published references suggest further need for assessing and predicting the influences of DOM on the transport,transformation, bioavailability, and toxicity of ENPs in the environment.

The strictly contractive Peaceman-Rachford splitting method is one of effective methods for solving separable convex optimization problem, and the inertial proximal Peaceman-Rachford splitting method is one of its important variants. It is known that the convergence of the inertial proximal Peaceman- Rachford splitting method can be ensured if the relaxation factor in Lagrangian multiplier updates is underdetermined, which means that the steps for the Lagrangian multiplier updates are shrunk conservatively. Although small steps play an important role in ensuring convergence, they should be strongly avoided in practice. In this article, we propose a relaxed inertial proximal Peaceman- Rachford splitting method, which has a larger feasible set for the relaxation factor. Thus, our method provides the possibility to admit larger steps in the Lagrangian multiplier updates. We establish the global convergence of the proposed algorithm under the same conditions as the inertial proximal Peaceman-Rachford splitting method. Numerical experimental results on a sparse signal recovery problem in compressive sensing and a total variation based image denoising problem demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs)have been restricted from production and consumption in many countries due to their persistence and biological toxicity.With the development of removal technologies,the requirement on the detection of different kinds of PFASs and their derivates is increasing.A suitable analytical method is the prerequisite and basis for the study of the degradation of PFASs.As various analytical methods have been reported,questions about which one is more suitable have arisen.It is a right time to summarize the past and suggest the future.In this paper,we summarized and discussed the analytical methods applied in the chemical degradation of PFASs.We also proposed the current problems and discussed the future directions in this field.

Evaluating the blank contamination and recovery of sample pretreatment procedures for analyzing organophosphorus flame retardants in waters

Organophosphate esters（OPEs）, used as flame retardants and plasticizers, are widely present in environmental waters. Development of accurate determination methods for trace OPEs in water is urgent for understanding the fate and risk of this class of emerging pollutants. However, the wide use of OPEs in experimental materials results in blank interference, which influences the accuracy of analytical results. In the present work, blank contamination and recovery of pretreatment procedures for analysis of OPEs in water samples were systematically examined for the first time. Blank contaminations were observed in filtration membranes, glass bottles, solid phase extraction cartridges, and nitrogen blowing instruments. These contaminations could be as high as 6.4–64 ng/L per treatment. Different kinds of membranes were compared in terms of contamination levels left after common glassware cleaning, and a special wash procedure was proposed to eliminate the contamination from membranes. Meanwhile, adsorption of highly hydrophobic OPEs on the inside wall of glass bottles was found to be 42.4%–86.1%, which was the primary cause of low recoveries and was significantly reduced by an additional washing step with acetonitrile. This work is expected to provide guidelines for the establishment of analysis methods for OPEs in aqueous samples.

Due to the demands for high performance and ecological and economical alternatives to conventional lithium-ion batteries(Li Bs),the development of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with remarkably higher theoretical capacity(1675 m A h g-1)has become one of the extensive research focus directions worldwide.However,poor conductivity of sulfur,critical cyclability problems due to shuttle of polysulfides as intermediate products of the cathodic reaction,and large volume variation of the sulfur composite cathode upon operation are the major bottlenecks impeding the implementation of the next-generation Li-S batteries.In this work,a unique three-dimensional(3D)interconnected macrocellular porous carbon(PC)architecture decorated with metal Ni nanoparticles was synthesized by a simple and facile strategy.The as-fabricated Ni/PC composite combines the merits of conducting carbon skeleton and highly adsorptive abilities of Ni,which resulted in efficient trapping of lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)and their fast conversion in the electrochemical process.Owing to these synergistic advantageous features,the composite exhibited good cycling stability(512.3 mA h g^(-1)after 1000 cycles at 1 C with an extremely low capacity fading rate 0.03%per cycle),and superior rate capability(747.5 mA h g^(-1)at 2 C).Accordingly,such Ni nanoparticles embedded in a renewable puffed corn-derived carbon prepared via a simple and effective route represent a promising active type of sulfur host matrix to fabricate high-performance Li-S batteries.

Single particle-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SP-ICP-MS) is a powerful tool for size-characterization of metal-containing nanoparticles (MCNs) at environmentally relevant concentrations,however,coexisting dissolved metal ions greatly interfere with the accuracy of particle size analysis.The purpose of this study is to develop an online technique that couples hollow fiber ultrafiltration (HFUF) with SP-ICP-MS to improve the accuracy and size detection limit of MCNs by removing metal ions from suspensions of MCNs.Through systematic optimization of conditions including the type and concentration of surfactant and complexing agent,carrier pH,and ion cleaning time,HFUF completely removes metal ions but retains the MCNs in suspension.The optimal conditions include using a mixture of 0.05 vol.%FL-70 and 0.5 mmol/L Na2S2O_(3)(pH=8.0) as the carrier and 4 min as the ion cleaning time.At these conditions,HFUF-SP-ICP-MS accurately determines the sizes of MCNs,and the results agree with the size distribution determined by transmission electron microscopy,even when metal ions also are present in the sample.In addition,reducing the ionic background through HFUF also lowers the particle size detection limit with SP-ICP-MS (e.g.,from 28.3 to 14.2 nm for gold nanoparticles).This size-based ion-removal principle provided by HFUF is suitable for both cations (e.g.,Ag+) and anions (e.g.,AuCl_(4)^(-)) and thus has good versatility compared to ion exchange purification and promising prospects for the removal of salts and macromolecules before single particle analysis.
