Effects of impregnation sequence on the NH_(3)-SCR activity and hydrothermal stability of a Ce-Nb/SnO_(2) catalyst

Hydrothermal stability is crucial for the practical application of deNO_(x)catalyst on diesel vehicles,for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x)with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).SnO_(2)-based materials possess superior hydrothermal stability,which is attractive for the development of NH_(3)-SCR catalyst.In this work,a series of Ce-Nb/SnO_(2)catalysts,with Ce and Nb loading on SnO_(2)support,were prepared by impregnation method.It was found that,the NH_(3)-SCR activities and hydrothermal stabilities of the Ce-Nb/SnO_(2)catalysts significantly varied with the impregnation sequences,and the Ce-Nb(f)/SnO_(2) catalyst that firstly impregnated Nb and then impregnated Ce exhibited the best performance.The characterization results revealed that CeNb(f)/SnO_(2)possessed appropriate acidity and redox capability.Furthermore,the strong synergistic effect between Nb and Sn species stabilized the structure and maintained the dispersion of acid sites.This study may provide a new understanding for the effect of impregnation sequence on activity and hydrothermal stability and a new environmental-friendly NH_(3)-SCR catalyst with potential applications for NO_(x)removal from diesel and hydrogenfueled engines.

Application of Converted Displacement for Modal Parameter Identification of Offshore Wind Turbines with High-Pile Foundation

In the actual measurement of offshore wind turbines(OWTs),the measured accelerations usually contain a large amount of noise due to the complex and harsh marine environment,which is not conducive to the identification of structural modal parameters.For OWTs with remarkably low structural modal frequencies,displacements can effectively suppress the high-frequency vibration noise and amplify the low-frequency vibration of the structure.However,finding a reference point to measure structural displacements at sea is difficult.Therefore,only a few studies on the use of dynamic displacements to identify the modal parameters of OWTs with high-pile foundations are available.Hence,this paper develops a displacement conversion strategy to study the modal parameter identification of OWTs with high-pile foundations.The developed strategy can be divided into the following three parts:zero-order correction of measured acceleration,high-pass filtering by the Butterworth polynomial,and modal parameter identification using the calculated displacement.The superiority of the proposed strategy is verified by analyzing a numerical OWT with a high-pile foundation and the measured accelerations from an OWT with a high-pile foundation.The results show that for OWTs with high-pile foundations dominated by low frequencies,the developed strategy of converting accelerations into displacements and then performing modal parameter identification is advantageous to the identification of modal parameters,and the results have high accuracy.

To the Editor:Hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is a major global health problem associated with liver-related morbidity and mortality.Chronic HBV infection,defined as hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)positivity,affecting approximately 257 million people worldwide.Chronic infection with HBV may result in the development of cirrhosis,liver failure,and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Liver transplantation(LT)remains the only curative treatment for HBV-related end-stage liver diseases.

Importance:Nagashima-type palmoplantar keratosis(NPPK)is a hereditary dermatosis mostly caused by a nonsense mutation in SERPINB7.Despite the increasing interest in readthrough gentamicin treatment of NPPK,clinical evidence for this treatment is limited.Objective:This study aimed to provide further evidence for the use of topical gentamicin in the treatment of NPPK in children with nonsense mutations.Methods:We designed a bilaterally controlled study of topical gentamicin ointment.Children diagnosed with NPPK carrying nonsense mutations were enrolled in this study.A 0.1%gentamicin ointment was applied to one hand and an emollient to the other for 3 months.A bilateral comparison of the visual analog scale scores for clinical manifestations and safety was performed.Results:Ten children with NPPK were included in this study.In comparison with the emollient side,the topical gentamicin side showed significant improvements in hyperkeratosis,erythema,maceration,and desquamation after 1 and 3 months of treatment(P<0.05).However,hyperhidrosis and odor did not improve significantly.No adverse events were observed during the systemic safety monitoring examinations.Interpretation:Topical gentamicin ointment showed good safety in the treatment of NPPK with nonsense mutations,indicating that it is a promising therapeutic choice in children with NPPK.

Although crystalline anode materials with long-range ordered lattice structure are in favor of facilitating the electron transfer,their structures are easily disrupted during long-term cycling due to the continuous embedding/de-embedding of lithium ions.In contrast,the amorphous materials have abundant defects and lithium ion storage sites,refl ecting a superior reaction kinetics and long-term cycling stability.Here,we synthesize an integrated hybrid anode by in-situ loading amorphous NiMo_(3)S_(13)nanosheets on nickel foam substrate.Benefi ting from the introduction of Ni^(2+)that amorphizes the molybdenumsulfur clusters,the assembled lithium ion battery based on the integrated NiMo_(3)S_(13)/nickel foam anode delivers a specifi c capacity up to 1659 mA·h·g^(−1)at a current density of 0.6 A·g^(−1)and exhibits superior rate/cycling performance.

Metal-organic polyhedra(MOPs)have emerged as novel porous platforms for proton conduction,however,the concerted employment of both linker and metal cluster vertex is rarely applied for the fabrication of MOPs-based high conducting materials.Herein we report the synthesis of sulfonate-functionalized polyoxovanadate-based MOPs for enhanced proton conduction via the synergistic effect from linker and metal cluster node.MOPs 1 and 2 exhibit octahedral cage configuration constructed from{V_(5)O_(9)Cl}vertex and 5-sulfoisophthalate linker.Owing to the ordered packing of octahedral cages along three axes,3D interpenetrated open channels that are lined with high-density sulfonates are thus formed within 2.Coupled with the proton-conductive{V_(5)O_(9)Cl}vertexs as well as protonated counterions,an extensive H-bonded network is therefore generated for facile proton transfer.2 exhibits high proton conductivity of 3.02×10^(-2)S cm^(-1)at 65℃under 90%RH,recording the highest value for MOPs pellet sample.This value is enhanced~1order of magnitude compared with that of carboxylate-functionalized analogue 3,clearly illustrating the advantage of combining linker and metal cluster node for enhanced proton conduction.This work will further promote the exploitation of high proton conductive MOPs-based materials by the synergy design strategy.

Approximately 350 million people worldwide are chronically infected by hepatitis B virus(HBV).HBV causes severe liver diseases including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In about 25%of affected patients,HBV infection proceeds to HCC.Therefore,the mechanisms by which HBV affects the host cell to promote viral replication and its pathogenesis have been the subject of intensive research efforts.Emerging evidence indicates that both autophagy and micro RNAs(mi RNAs)are involved in HBV replication and HBV-related hepatocarcinogenesis.In this review,we summarize how HBV induces autophagy,the role of autophagy in HBV infection,and HBV-related tumorigenesis.We further discuss the emerging roles of mi RNAs in HBV infection and how HBV affects mi RNAs biogenesis.The accumulating knowledge pertaining to autophagy and mi RNAs in HBV replication and its pathogenesis may lead to the development of novel strategies against HBV infection and HBV-related HCC tumorigenesis.

MEK1 and MEK2 differentially regulate human insulin- and insulin glargine-induced human bladder cancer T24 cell proliferation

Background Increased risk of bladder cancer has been reported in diabetic patients. This study was to investigate the roles of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase （MEK） 1 and 2 in the regulation of human insulin- and insulin glargine-induced proliferation of human bladder cancer T24 cells. Methods In the absence or presence of a selective inhibitor for MEK1 （PD98059） or a specific siRNA for MEK2 （siMEK2）, with or without addition of insulin or glargine, T24 cell proliferation was evaluated by cell counting kit （CCK）-8 assay. Protein expression of MEK2, phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and Akt was analyzed by Western blotting. Results T24 cell proliferation was promoted by PD98059 at 5-20 IJmol/L, inhibited by siMEK2 at 25-100 nmol/L. PD98059 and siMEK2 remarkably reduced phosphorylated ERKI/2. Insulin- and glargine-induced T24 cell proliferation was enhanced by PD98059, suppressed while not blocked by siMEK2. Insulin- and glargine-induced ERKI/2 activation was blocked by PD98059 or siMEK2 treatment, whereas activation of Akt was not affected. Conclusion MEK1 inhibits while MEK2 contributes to normal and human insulin- and insulin glargine-induced human bladder cancer T24 cell proliferation.

Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation causes massive threatening diseases,such as sepsis,acute lung injury and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.Efficient treatment to prevent inflammation is crucial in LPS-induced inflammatory diseases.Heat-clearing Chinese medicines(CMs)have been used to ameliorate LPS-induced inflammation in China for centuries.Heat-clearing CMs regulate inflammatory pathways,thereby inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors.This review aimed to introduce promising heat-clearing CMs countering LPS-induced inflammation in the last 5 years,exploring the underlying molecular mechanisms.
