Different chemical compositions of soil organic carbon(SOC)affect its persistence and whether it signifi-cantly differs between natural forests and plantations remains *** synthesizing 234 observations of SOC chemical compositions,we evaluated global patterns of concentra-tion,individual chemical composition(alkyl C,O-alkyl C,aromatic C,and carbonyl C),and their distribution *** results indicate a notably higher SOC,a markedly larger proportion of recalcitrant alkyl C,and lower easily decomposed carbonyl C proportion in natural ***-ever,SOC chemical compositions were appreciably more evenly distributed in *** on the assumed con-ceptual index of SOC chemical composition evenness,we deduced that,compared to natural forests,plantations may have higher possible resistance to SOC decomposition under *** tropical regions,SOC levels,recalcitrant SOC chemical composition,and their distributed evenness were significantly higher in natural forests,indicating that SOC has higher chemical stability and possible resistance to *** factors had minor effects on alkyl C in forests globally,while they notably affected SOC chemi-cal composition in tropical *** could contribute to the differences in chemical compositions and their distrib-uted evenness between plantations and natural stands.

Magnesium and aluminum alloys are widely used in various industries because of their excellent properties,and their reliable connection may increase application of *** compounds(IMCs)affect the joint performance of Mg/*** this study,AZ31 Mg alloy with/without a nickel(Ni)coating layer and 6061 Al alloy were joined by ultrasonic-assisted soldering with Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu(SAC)*** effects of the Ni coating layer on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg/Al joints were systematically *** Ni coating layer had a significant effect on formation of the Mg_(2)Sn IMC and the mechanical properties of Mg/Al *** blocky Mg_(2)Sn IMC formed in the Mg/SAC/Al joints without a Ni coating *** content of the Mg_(2)Sn IMC increased with increasing soldering temperature,but the joint strength *** joint without a Ni coating layer fractured at the blocky Mg_(2)Sn IMC in the solder,and the maximum shear strength was 32.2 *** pre-plating Ni on the Mg substrate,formation of the blocky Mg_(2)Sn IMC was inhibited in the soldering temperature range 240–280℃and the joint strength ***,when the soldering temperature increased to 310℃,the blocky Mg_(2)Sn IMC precipitated again in the *** electron microscopy showed that some nano-sized Mg_(2)Sn IMC and the(Cu,Ni)_(6)Sn_(5)phase formed in the Mg(Ni)/SAC/Al joint soldered at 280℃,indicating that the Ni coating layer could no longer prevent diffusion of Mg into the solder when the soldering temperature was higher than 280℃.The maximum shear strength of the Mg(Ni)/SAC/Al joint was 58.2 MPa for a soldering temperature of 280℃,which was 80.7%higher than that of the Mg/SAC/Al joint,and the joint was broken at the Mg(Ni)/SAC ***-plating Ni is a feasible way to inhibit formation of IMCs when joining dissimilar metals.

Cosmic shear statistics,such as the two-point correlation function(2PCF),can be evaluated with the PDF-SYM method instead of the traditional weighted-sum *** makes use of the full PDF information of the shear estimators,and does not require weightings on the shear estimators,which can in principle introduce additional systematic *** work presents our constraints on S8and?mfrom the shear-shear correlations using the PDF-SYM *** data we use is from the z-band images of the Dark Energy Camera Legacy Survey(DECa LS),which covers about 10000 deg2with more than 100 million *** shear catalog is produced by the Fourier Quad method,and well tested on the real data itself with the field-distortion *** main approach is called quasi-2D as we do use the photo-z information of each individual galaxy,but without dividing the galaxies into redshift *** mainly use galaxy pairs within the redshift interval between 0.2 and 1.3,and the angular range from 4.7 to 180 *** analysis yields S8=0.762±0.026 and?m=0.234±0.075,with the baryon effects and the intrinsic alignments *** results are robust against redshift *** check the consistency of our results by deriving the cosmological constraints from auto-correlations ofγ1andγ2separately,and find that they are consistent with each other,but the constraints from theγ1component are much weaker than that fromγ*** implies a much worse data quality ofγ1,which is likely due to additional shear uncertainties caused by CCD electronics(according to the survey strategy of DECa LS).We also perform a pure 2D analysis,which gives S8=0.81_(-0.04)^(+0.03)and?m=0.25_(-0.05)^(+0.06).Our findings demonstrate the potential of the PDF-SYM method for precision cosmology.

Background Whether the sequential treatment with bortezomib plus dexamethasone （BD） followed by autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation （ASCT） could extend the overall survival period in multiple myeloma patients is still not clear. Few large case studies about this therapeutics in multiple myeloma were reported in China. Our purpose was to assess the efficacy and adverse effects of sequential treatment with BD chemotherapy and ASCT in patients with multiple myeloma. Methods Fifty-three patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma received BD as induction therapy before ASCT. Stem-cell mobilization was undertaken with cyclophosphamide 3-5 g/m2 plus granulocyte colony-stimulating factor 300 IJg/d. Target yield was 2.0x106 CD34＋ cells/kg. Conditioning for ASCT consisted of melphalan 200 mg/m2. Thalidomide and/or Q-interferon was used as post-transplantation maintenance treatment. Results The BD chemotherapy before transplantation was effective in 86.7% of the 53 patients, including 22.6% with complete remission （CR）, 39.6% with near complete remission （nCR）, and 24.5% with partial remission （PR）. The best effect was achieved after two treatment courses. Most bortezomib-related adverse effects were classes 1-2. All patients were successfully mobilized after BD for autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. The ASCT was effective in 96.3% of patients, including 49.1% with CR, 32.1% with nCR, and 15.1% with PR. The CR rate was significantly increased （49.1% vs. 22.6%, P 〈0.05） by sequential ASCT. Within 27 （range, 6-53） months of follow-up, the efficacy of ASCT was maintained in 29 patients and further enhanced by post-transplantation maintenance treatment in four patients. Eleven patients died after transplantation. Among the patients undergoing BD/ASCT treatment, overall survival （OS） was significantly better in newly diagnosed patients in comparison to relapsed/refractory patients （P=0.046）. Energy storage and conservation are receiving increased attention due to rising global energy ***,the development of energy storage materials is *** energy storage(TES)systems based on phase change materials(PCMs)have increased in prominence over the past two decades,not only because of their outstanding heat storage capacities but also their superior thermal energy regulation ***,issues such as leakage and low thermal conductivity limit their applicability in a variety of ***-based materials such as graphene and its derivatives can be utilized to surmount these *** study examines the recent advancements in graphene-based phase change composites(PCCs),where graphene-based nanostructures such as graphene,graphene oxide(GO),functionalized graphene/GO,and graphene aerogel(GA)are incorporated into PCMs to substantially enhance their shape stability and thermal conductivity that could be translated to better storage capacity,durability,and temperature response,thus boosting their attractiveness for TES *** addition,the applications of these graphene-based PCCs in various TES disciplines,such as energy conservation in buildings,solar utilization,and battery thermal management,are discussed and summarized.

ObjectiveTo explore the regulatory effect of Pien Tze Huang (PZH) on targeting partner of NOB1 (PNO1) and it’s down-stream mediators in colorectal cancer (CRC) *** polymerase chain reaction was performed to determine mRNA levels of PNO1, TP53, and CDKN1A. Western blotting was performed to determine protein levels of PNO1, p53, and p21. HCT-8 cells were transduced with a lentivirus over-expressing PNO1. Colony formation assay was used to detect cell survival in PNO1 overexpression of HCT-8 cells after PZH treatment. Cell-cycle distribution, cell viability and cell apoptosis were performed to identify the effect of PNO1 overexpression on cell proliferation and apoptosis of HCT-8 cells after PZH treatment. Xenograft BALB/c nude mice bearing HCT116 cells transduced with sh-PNO1 or sh-Ctrl lentivirus were evaluated. Western blot assay was performed to detect PNO1, p53, p21 and PCNA expression in tumor sections. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labling (TUNEL) assay was used to determine the apoptotic cells in *** treatment decreased cell viability, down-regulated PNO1 expression, and up-regulated p53 and p21 expressions in HCT-8 cells (P<0.05). PNO1 overexpression attenuated the effects of PZH treatment, including the expression of p53 and p21, cell growth, cell viability, cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis in vitro (P<0.05). PNO1 knockdown eliminated the effects of PZH treatment on tumor growth, inhibiting cell proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induction in vivo (P<0.05). Similarly, PNO1 knockdown attenuated the effects of PZH treatment on the down-regulation of PNO1 and up-regulation of p53 and p21 in vivo (P<0.05).ConclusionThe mechanism by which PZH induces its CRC anti-proliferative effect is at least in part by regulating the expression of PNO1 and its downstream targets p53 and p21.

OBJECTIVES Stress-related glycemic indicators,including admission blood glucose(ABG),stress-hyperglycemia ratio(SHR),and glycemic gap(GG),have been associated with worse outcomes after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).However,data regarding their prognostic value in the oldest old with AMI are ***,this study aimed to investigate the association of stress-related glycemic indicators with short-and long-term cardiovascular mortality(CVM)in the oldest old(≥80 years)with *** In this prospective study,a total of 933 consecutive old patients with AMI admitted to FuWai hospital(Beijing,China)were *** admission,ABG,SHR,and GG were assessed and all participants were classified according to their ***-Meier,restricted cubic splines(RCS),and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association between these glycemic indicators and CVM within 30 days and long-term *** During an average of 1954 patient-years of follow-up,a total of 250 cardiovascular deaths were ***-Meier analyses showed the lowest CVM in quartile 1 of ABG and in quartile 2 of SHR and *** adjusting for potential covariates,patients in quartile 4 of ABG,SHR,and GG had a respective 1.67-fold(95%CI:1.03-2.69;P=0.036),1.80-fold(95%CI:1.16-2.79;P=0.009),and 1.78-fold(95%CI:1.14-2.79;P=0.011)higher risk of long-term CVM risk compared to those in the reference groups(quartile 1 of ABG and quartile 2 of SHR and GG).Furthermore,RCS suggested a J-shaped relationship of ABG and a Ushaped association of SHR and GG with long-term ***,we observed similar associations of these acute glycemic parameters with 30-day *** Our data first indicated that SHR and GG consistently had a U-shaped association with both 30-day and longterm CVM among the oldest old with AMI,suggesting that they may be useful for risk stratification in this special population.
