The oral cavity is a complex physiological community encompassing a wide range of *** of oral microbiota can lead to various oral infectious diseases,such as periodontitis and tooth decay,and even affect systemic health,including brain aging and neurodegenerative *** studies have highlighted how oral microbes might be involved in brain aging and neurodegeneration,indicating potential avenues for intervention *** this review,we summarize clinical evidence demonstrating a link between oral microbes/oral infectious diseases and brain aging/neurodegenerative diseases,and dissect potential mechanisms by which oral microbes contribute to brain aging and *** also highlight advances in therapeutic development grounded in the realm of oral microbes,with the goal of advancing brain health and promoting healthy aging.

Major motivations for extract method refactorings： analysis based on interviews and change histories

Extract method is one of the most popular soft- ware refactorings. However, little work has been done to investigate or validate the major motivations for such refactorings. Digging into this issue might help researchers to improve tool support for extract method refactorings, e.g., proposing better tools to recommend refactoring opportunities, and to select fragments to be extracted. To this end, we conducted an interview with 25 developers, and our results suggest that current reuse, decomposition of long methods, clone resolution, and future reuse are the major motivations for extract method refactorings. We also validated the results by analyzing the refactoring history of seven open-source applications. Analysis results suggest that current reuse was the primary motivation for 56% of extract method refactorings, decomposition of methods was the primary motivation for 28% of extract method refactorings, and clone resolution was the primary motivation for 16% of extract method refactorings. These findings might suggest that recommending extract method opportunities by analyzing only the inner structure （e.g., complexity and length） of methods alone would miss many extract method opportunities. These findings also suggest that extract method refactorings are often driven by current and immediate reuse. Consequently, how to recognize or predict reuse requirements timely during software evolution may play a key role in the recommendation and automation of extract method refactorings. We also investigated the likelihood for the extracted methods to be reused in future, and our results suggest that such methods have a small chance （12%） to be reused in future unless the extracted fragment could be reused immediately in software evolution and extracting such a fragment can resolve existing clones at the same time.

Rodent biology and management: Current status, opinion and challenges in China

China experiences serious agricultural damages from rodents, and, correspondingly, researchers in China are actively studying rodent biology and management. Following the popularization of ecologically-based rodent pest management and extension of the basic state policy of Ecological Civilization Construction in China, recent efforts in rodent control technologies are mainly focused on eliminating side effects of rodenticides and developing environmentally friendly techniques. Considering ecological functions of rodents to test their interaction with the environment is a promising design for understanding rodent populations in local ecosystems and for developing ecologically-based rodent management. Using ecological phenotypes and applying advanced techniques of molecular biology, genetics, and epigenetics might be useful for illustrating the deep regulatory mechanisms of fluctuations in rodent populations. However, facing the dual characteristics of rodents as pests and their roles as keystone species in many ecosystems, it is still a challenge to establish reasonable local thresholds to balance rodent management with the negative effects of rodent control on the environment in the future.

Empirical Likelihood-based Inferences in Varying Coefficient Models with Missing Data

In this paper, we consider the empirical likelihood-based inferences for varying coefficient models Y = X^τα（U）＋ ε when X are subject to missing at random. Based on the inverse probability-weighted idea, a class of empirical log-likelihood ratios, as well as two maximum empirical likelihood estimators, are developed for α（u）. The resulting statistics are shown to have standard chi-squared or normal distributions *** studies are also constructed to illustrate the finite sample properties of the proposed statistics.

Quantum key recovery attack on SIMON32/64

The quantum security of lightweight block ciphers is receiving more and more ***,the existing quantum attacks on lightweight block ciphers only focused on the quantum exhaustive search,while the quantum attacks combined with classical cryptanalysis methods haven’t been well *** this paper,we study quantum key recovery attack on SIMON32/64 using Quantum Amplitude Amplification algorithm in Q1 *** first,we reanalyze the quantum circuit complexity of quantum exhaustive search on SIMON32/*** estimate the Clifford gates count more accurately and reduce the T gate ***,the T-depth and full depth is reduced due to our minor ***,using four differentials given by Biryukov in FSE 2014 as our distinguisher,we give our quantum key recovery attack on 19-round SIMON32/*** treat the two phases of key recovery attack as two QAA instances separately,and the first QAA instance consists of four sub-QAA ***,we design the quantum circuit of these two QAA instances and estimate their corresponding quantum circuit *** conclude that the quantum circuit of our quantum key recovery attack is lower than quantum exhaustive *** work firstly studies the quantum dedicated attack on SIMON32/*** this is the first work to study the complexity of quantum dedicated attacks from the perspective of quantum circuit complexity,which is a more fine-grained analysis of quantum dedicated attacks’complexity.

Scientific collaboration has become an important part of the people-to-people exchanges in the Belt and Road initiative,and remarkable progress has been made since *** the 65 countries along the Belt and Road(BRI countries)as the research areas and using collaborated Web of Science(WOS)core collection papers to construct an international scientific collaboration matrix,the paper explores the spatial structure,hierarchy and formation mechanisms of scientific collaboration networks of 65 countries along the Belt and *** results show that:1)Beyond the Belt and Road regions(BRI regions),Central&Eastern Europe,China and West Asia&North Africa have formed a situation in which they all have the most external links with other countries beyond BRI *** has the dominant role over other BRI countries in generating scientific *** overall spatial structure has changed to a skeleton structure consisting of many dense regions,such as Europe,North America,East Asia and Oceania.2)Within the Belt and Road regions,Central&Eastern Europe has become the largest collaboration partner with other sub-regions in BRI *** spatial structure of scientific collaboration networks has transformed from the‘dual core’composed of China and the Central&Eastern Europe region,to the‘multi-polarization’composed of‘one zone and multi-points’.3)The hierarchical structure of scientific collaboration networks presents a typical‘core-periphery’structure,and changes from‘single core’to‘double cores’.4)Among the formation mechanisms of scientific collaboration networks,scientific research strength and social proximity play the most important roles,while geographical distance gradually weakens the hindrance to scientific collaboration.

Testing conditional independence with data missing at random

It is known that conditional independence is a quite basic assumption in many fields of statistics. How to test its validity is of great importance and has been extensively studied by the literature. Nevertheless, all of the existing methods focus on the case that data are fully observed, but none of them seems having taken into account of the scenario when missing data are present. Motivated by this, this paper develops two testing statistics to handle such a situation relying on the idea of inverse probability weighted and augmented inverse probability weighted techniques. The asymptotic distributions of the proposed statistics are also derived under the null hypothesis. The simulation studies indicate that both testing statistics perform well in terms of size and power.
