Rivers often witness non-uniform bed load sedim ent transport. For a long tim e, non-uniform bed load transport has been assum ed to be at capacity regime determined exclusively by local flow. Yet whether the capacity assumption for non-uniform bed load transport is justified remains poorly understood. Here, the relative time scale of non-uniform bed load transport is evaluated and non-capacity and capacity models are compared for both aggradation and degradation cases with observed data. As characterized by its relative time scale, the adaptation of non-uniform bed load to capacity regime should be fulfilled quickly. However, changes in the flow and sedim ent inputs from upstream or tributaries hinder the adaptation. Also, the adaptation to capacity regime is size dependent, the finer the sediment size the slower the adaptation is, and vice versa. It is shown that the capacity model may entail considerable errors compared to the non-capacity model. For modelling of non-uniform bed load, non-capacity modelling is recommended, in which the temporal and spatial scales required for adaptation are explicitly appreciated.

Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)have emerged as one of the most promising candidates for the construction of solid-state lithium batteries due to their excellent flexibility,scalability,and interface compatibility with ***,a novel all-solid polymer electrolyte(PPLCE)was fabricated by the copolymer network of liquid crystalline monomers and poly(ethylene glycol)dimethacrylate(PEGDMA)acts as a structural frame,combined with poly(ethylene glycol)diglycidyl ether short chain interspersed serving as mobile ion transport *** preparaed PPLCEs exhibit excellent mechanical property and out-standing electrochemical performances,which is attributed to their unique three-dimensional cocontinuous structure,characterized by a cross-linked semi-interpenetrating network and an ionic liquid phase,resulting in a distinctive nanostructure with short-range order and long-range ***,the addition of PEGDMA is proved to be critical to the comprehensive performance of the PPLCEs,which effectively modulates the microscopic morphology of polymer networks and improves the mechanical properties as well as cycling stability of the solid *** used in a lithiumion symmetrical battery configuration,the 6 wt%-PPLCE exhibites super stability,sustaining operation for over 2000 h at 30 C,with minimal and consistent overpotential of 50 *** resulting Li|PPLCE|LFP solid-state battery demonstrates high discharge specific capacities of 160.9 and 120.1 mA h g^(-1)at current densities of 0.2 and 1 C,*** after more than 300 cycles at a current density of 0.2 C,it retaines an impressive 73.5%***,it displayes stable cycling for over 180 cycles at a high current density of *** super cycle stability may promote the application for ultralong-life all solid-state lithium metal batteries.

A porous yttrium oxide crucible with both thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance was developed by structural *** structure-optimized yttrium oxide crucible was proved to be suitable for melting highly reactive titanium ***-cost(TiB+Y2O_(3))-reinforced titanium matrix composites were prepared by vacuum induction melting using the prepared *** thermal deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of(TiB+Y2O_(3))-reinforced tita-nium matrix composites were investigated at deformation temperatures of 900-1100℃with strain rates of 0.001-1 *** results showed that the prepared yttrium oxide crucible had both thermal shock and erosion resistance,the low-cost titanium matrix composites could be prepared by the developed yttrium oxide crucibles which were homogeneous in composition and highly sensitive to strain rate and deformation temperature,and the peak and theological stresses decreased with increasing deformation temperature or decreasing strain *** addition,the average thermal deformation activation energy of the composites was calculated to be 574.6 kJ/mol by establishing the Arrhenius constitutive equation in consideration of the strain variables,and the fitting goodness between the predicted stress value and the measured value was 97.624%.The calculated analysis of the hot processing map showed that the best stable thermal deformation zone was located in the deformation temperature range of 1000-1100℃and strain rate range of 0.001-0.01 s^(-1),where the peak dissipation coefficient wasη=71%.In this zone,the deformation of the reinforcement and matrix was harmonious,the reinforcement was less likely to fracture,dynamic recrystallization occurred more fully and the alloy exhibited near steady rheological characteristics.

Sulfidated nano zero-valent iron particles were immobilized on ZSM-5 zeolite(Z/S-nZⅥ)and used for hexavalent chromium(Cr(Ⅵ))*** performance of Z/S-nZⅥimproved with the increase in Cr(Ⅵ)concentration(han 60 mg/*** adsorption behavior for Cr(Ⅵ)was different from that reported in previous *** improved performance can be tailored for increasing efficiency of nano zero-valent iron(nZⅥ)corrosion,while the degree of corrosion of nZⅥwas affected by the concentration of the pollutant as discussed by kinetics,X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS)*** experiments for the dissolution of ferrous ions and the dosage of adsorbent demonstrated that the critical layer in the liquid-solid system changed with the increase in the concentration of Cr(Ⅵ)(Cr(Ⅵ):Z/S-nZⅥ>0.6).Moreover,the removal mechanisms of Cr(Ⅵ)were elucidated through XRD,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and XPS *** results demonstrate that the species of chromium in the critical layer changed from Cr(Ⅲ)to Cr(Ⅵ)as the concentration of chromium increased from low to ***,the critical layer was composed of Cr(Ⅵ),Fe(Ⅱ),O and H ***,the experiments of coexisting ions and aging time confirmed that Z/S-nZⅥpossessed high selectivity and stability to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness in practical applications.

Developing stable electrodes for seawater splitting remains a great challenge due to the detachment of catalysts at a large operating current and severe anode corrosion caused by ***,divalent anion intercalation and etching-hydrolysis strategies are deployed to synthesize the ultra-stable anode,dendritic Fe(OH)_(3) grown on Ni(SO_4)_(0.3)(OH)_(1.4)–Ni(OH)_(2).Experimental results reveal that the anode exhibits good activity and excellent stability in alkaline simulated *** 500 h,the current density operated at 1.72 V remains 99.5%,about 210 m A cm^(-2).The outstanding stability originates from the etchinghydrolysis strategy,which strengthens the interaction between the catalyst and the carrier and retards thus the detachment of catalysts at a large current ***,theoretical simulations confirm that the intercalated divalent anions,such as SO_4^(2-) and CO_(3)^(2-),can weaken the adsorption strength of chlorine on the surface of catalysts and hinder the coupling and hybridization between chlorine and nickel,which slows down the anode corrosion and improves catalytic ***,the twoelectrode system shows the remarkable 95.1% energy efficiency at 2,000 A m-2and outstanding stability in 6 mol L^(-1) KOH +seawater at 80 ℃.

Nonlinear empirical failure criterion for rocks under triaxial compression

Based on existing triaxial compression experimental data,a new empirical failure criterion with wide applicability was proposed considering hydrostatic pressure,second stress invariance,and maximum shear *** fitting evaluation indicators were used to verify the consistency of the new failure criterion,and the differences with the other 6 failure criteria were *** characteristics of the new failure criteria in the principal stress space were finally *** results indicate that(1)the new failure criterion exhibits strong predictive ability for triaxial experiments and has good applicability for both intact and jointed rocks;(2)the influence of hydrostatic pressure on the failure surface exhibits a non-linear trend,and different hydrostatic pressure also exhibits different distribution patterns on the deviatoric stress plane,with a distribution characteristic pattern of hexagonal snowflake-regular *** maximum shear stress has a torsional effect on the new criterion,in the three-dimensional failure *** parameters a and b of the rock have an impact on the failure surface morphology of the new criterion function on the offset surface.
