Extending homogeneous fluidization flow regime of Geldart-A particles by exerting axial uniform and steady magnetic field

The homogeneous/particulate fluidization flow regime is particularly suitable for handling the various gas–solid contact processes encountered in the chemical and energy *** work aimed to extend such a regime of Geldart-A particles by exerting the axial uniform and steady magnetic *** the action of the magnetic field,the overall homogeneous fluidization regime of Geldart-A magnetizable particles became composed of two parts:inherent homogeneous fluidization and newly-created magnetic *** the former remained almost unchanged whereas the latter became broader as the magnetic field intensity increased,the overall homogeneous fluidization regime could be extended *** for Geldart-A nonmagnetizable particles,certain amount of magnetizable particles had to be premixed to transmit the magnetic *** others,the mere addition of magnetizable particles could broaden the homogeneous fluidization *** added content of magnetizable particles had an optimal value with smaller/lighter ones working *** added magnetizable particles might raise the ratio between the interparticle force and the particle *** the magnetic field was exerted,the homogeneous fluidization regime was further expanded due to the formation of magnetic stabilization flow *** more the added magnetizable particles,the better the magnetic performance and the broader the overall homogeneous fluidization ***/lighter magnetizable particles were preferred to maximize the magnetic performance and extend the overall homogeneous fluidization *** phenomenon could be ascribed to that the added magnetizable particles themselves became more Geldart-A than-B type as their density or size decreased.

A cold vortex occurred over the northeastern Tibetan Plateau(TP)on 27 April 2018 and subsequently brought excessive rainfall to the spring farming area in southern China when moving *** study investigates the genesis mechanism of the cold TP vortex(TPV)by diagnosing reanalysis data and conducting numerical *** demonstrate that the cold TPV was generated in a highly baroclinic environment with significant contributions of positive potential vorticity(PV)forcing from the tropopause and diurnal thermodynamic impact from the *** a positive PV anomaly in the lower stratosphere moved towards the TP,the PV forcing at the tropopause pushed the tropospheric isentropic surfaces upward,forming isentropic-isplacement ascent and reducing static stability over the *** descent of the tropopause over the TP also produced a tropopause folding over the northeastern TP associated with a narrow high-PV column intruding downwards over the TPV genesis site,resulting in ascending air in the free ***,in conjunction with the descending air in the valley area during the night,produced air stretching just at the TPV genesis *** the surface cooling at night increased the surface static stability,the aforementioned vertical air-stretching thus converted the produced static stability to vertical ***,the cold TPV was generated over the valley at night.

Seismic-induced surficial failure of cohesive slopes using three-dimensional limit analysis:A case study of the Wangjiayan landslide in Beichuan, China

A seismic-induced landslide is a common geological catastrophe that occurs in *** Wangjiayan landslide,which was triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake,is a typical case in *** Wanjiayan landslide caused many casualties and resulted in enormous property *** study constructs a simple surficial failure model based on the upper bound approach of three-dimensional(3D)limit analysis to evaluate the slope stability of the Wangjiayan case,while a traditional two-dimensional(2D)analysis is also conducted as a reference for comparison with the results of the 3D analysis.A quasi-static calculation is used to study the effect of the earthquake in terms of horizontal ground acceleration,while a parametric study is conducted to evaluate the critical cohesion of *** than employing a 3D analysis,using the 2D analysis yields an underestimation regarding the safety *** the Wangjiayan landslide,the difference in the factors of safety between the 3D and 2D analyses can reach 20%.The sliding surface morphology as determined by the 3D method is similar to actual morphology,and the parameters of both are also compared to analyze the reliability of the proposed 3D method.

Boosting oxygen reduction activity and CO_(2) resistance on bismuth ferrite-based perovskite cathode for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells below 600℃

Developing efficient and stable cathodes for low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs) is of great importance for the practical ***,we propose a series of Sm-modified Bi_(0.7-x)Sm_xSr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ) perovskites as highly-active catalysts for *** doping can significantly enhance the electrocata lytic activity and chemical stability of *** 600℃,Bi_(0.675)Sm_(0.025)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSSF25) cathode has been found to be the optimum composition with a polarization resistance of 0.098 Ω cm^2,which is only around 22.8% of Bi_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)FeO_(3-δ)(BSF).A full cell utilizing BSSF25 displays an exceptional output density of 790 mW cm^(-2),which can operate continuously over100 h without obvious *** remarkable electrochemical performance observed can be attributed to the improved O_(2) transport kinetics,superior surface oxygen adsorption capacity,as well as O_(2)p band centers in close proximity to the Fermi ***,larger average bonding energy(ABE) and the presence of highly acidic Bi,Sm,and Fe ions restrict the adsorption of CO_(2) on the cathode surface,resulting in excellent CO_(2) *** work provides valuable guidance for systematic design of efficient and durable catalysts for LT-SOFCs.

The projectile penetration process into concrete target is a nonlinear complex *** the increase ofexperiment data,the data-driven paradigm has exhibited a new feasible method to solve such complex ***,due to poor quality of experimental data,the traditional machine learning(ML)methods,whichare driven only by experimental data,have poor generalization capabilities and limited prediction ***,this study intends to exhibit a ML method fusing the prior knowledge with experiment *** newML method can constrain the fitting to experimental data,improve the generalization ability and the predic-tion *** results show that integrating domain prior knowledge can effectively improve theperformance of the prediction model for penetration depth into concrete targets.

Distribution, bioaccumulation, trophic transfer and risk assessment of trace elements in fish from a typical shallow outflow lake basin, China

Fish are important food sources for humans,and the availability of appropriate amount of trace elements(TEs)plays a crucial role in fish ***,due to large volumes of sewage discharge,high levels of certain elements are present in aquatic environments,and these elements accumulate in fish and potentially affect human *** this study,the distribution and bioaccumulation capacity of trace elements in six dominant fish species from Chaohu Lake(China)were *** results showed that the bioaccumulation capacity of fish for Zn was greater than other *** the source of the TEs in the fish were explored along with the concentration of the TEs in the aquatic environment,which indicated that TEs in fish were mainly obtained through ingestion and indirectly affected by the industrial activities in the ***,stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes were used to classify the trophic levels and explore the biological magnification of TEs of the *** was found that Sb and Sr showed biomagnification with the increase of trophic level of *** on the above analyses,the environmental biogeochemical cycle model of TEs in the lake was distinguished and established,which can offer valuable insights for sustainable fishery management in the downstream Yangtze River Delta ecosystem.

Ecological-Based Mining:A Coal-Water-Thermal Collaborative Paradigm in Ecologically Fragile Areas in Western China

A substantial reduction in groundwater level,exacerbated by coal mining activities,is intensifying water scarcity in western China’s ecologically fragile coal mining ***’s national strategic goal of achieving a carbon peak and carbon neutrality has made eco-friendly mining that prioritizes the protection and efficient use of water resources *** on the resource characteristics of mine water and heat hazards,an intensive coal-water-thermal collaborative co-mining paradigm for the duration of the mining process is *** integrated system for the production,supply,and storage of mining companion resources is achieved through technologies such as roof water inrush prevention and control,hydrothermal quality improvement,and deep-injection geological *** active preventive and control system achieved by adjusting the mining technology and a passive system centered on multiobjective drainage and grouting treatment are suggested,in accordance with the original geological characteristics and dynamic process of water *** implementing advanced multi-objective drainage,specifically designed to address the“skylight-type”water inrush mode in the Yulin mining area of Shaanxi Province,a substantial reduction of 50%in water drillings and inflow was achieved,leading to stabilized water conditions that effectively ensure subsequent safe coal *** integrated-energy complementary model that incorporates the clean production concept of heat utilization is also *** findings indicate a potential saving of 8419 t of standard coal by using water and air heat as an alternative heating source for the Xiaojihan coalmine,resulting in an impressive energy conservation of 50.2%and a notable 24.2%reduction in carbon *** ultra-deep sustained water injection of 100 m^(3)·h^(-1)in a single well would not rupture the formation or cause water leakage,and 7.87×10^(5)t of mine water could be effectively stored in the liujiagou Formation,presenti
