On-chip integrated GeSe_(2)/Si vdW heterojunction for ultravioletenhanced broadband photodetection,imaging,and secure optical communication

Broadband photodetection,spanning from ultraviolet(UV)to infrared(IR),is pivotal in diverse technological domains including astronomy,remote sensing,environmental monitoring,and medical ***,current commercially available broadband photodetectors,predominately based on conventional narrow-bandgap semiconductors,exhibit limited sensitivity in the UV *** limitation,stemming from the significant energy disparity between the semiconductor bandgap and UV photon,narrows their application ***,we report an innovative approach involving the in-situ van der Waals(vdW)integration of two-dimensional(2D)GeSe_(2)layers onto a Si *** process yields a high-quality GeSe_(2)/Si vdW heterojunction device,which features a broad response range covering from UV to near-IR(NIR)with a greatly-enhanced sensitivity in the UV *** device possesses high responsivities of 325 and 533.4 mA/W,large detectivities of 1.24×10^(13)and 2.57×10^(13)Jones,and fast response speeds of 20.6/82.1 and 17.7/81.0μs under 360 and 980 nm,***,the broadband image sensing and secure invisible optical communication capabilities of the GeSe_(2)/Si heterojunction device are *** work provides a viable approach for UV-enhanced broadband photodetection technology,opening up new possibilities and applications across various scientific and technological domains.

Hypnotherapy for overweight and obese patients:A narrative review

Obesity and overweight problems are serious global health issues today and despite many efforts,the prevalence has continued to rise for ***,hypnotherapy has been gaining recognition as an effective treatment for obesity and overweight *** review compiles contemporary scientific research on the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for weight ***,Pub Med and EBSCO Host databases were applied in the *** search identified 119 articles,of which seven met the inclusion criteria.A total of 539 respondents(82.7%women and 17.3%men)between the ages of 17 and 67 years were represented in the seven *** studies incorporated lifestyle changes,such as changes of dietary habit and behavioral recommendations in the hypnotic *** results suggested that the use of hypnotherapy not only promoted weight reduction during the treatment period but also after treatment cessation,and in some cases,one to ten kilograms were lost during follow-up *** addition,one study even showed increased physical activity among the hypnotised *** use of hypnotherapy also improved respondents'eating behavior and quality of ***,a definitive conclusion could not be drawn due to several methodological flaws and the limited number of published studies in this ***,further well-designed studies are needed to substantiate the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for this modern-day health problem.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF FLUID-STRUCTURE INTERACTION OF ENDOLYMPH AND CUPULA IN THE LATERAL SEMICIRCULAR CANAL OF INNER EAR

The semicircular canals, composed of lateral, anterior and posterior canals in the inner ear, are the sensors of equilibrium during head rotation movements in the three-dimensional space. Semicircular canals are filled with endolymph confined by the cupula. The study of the relationship between endolymph flow and cupular deformation is important in revealing the semicircular canals biomechanical behavior. To date, there are few studies focusing on the transient endolymph flow and cupular deformation in response to a head rotation motion. The lateral semicircular canal is mainly responsible for the sense of the horizontal rotation movement. In order to figure out the intricate dynamics in the lateral semicircular canal during the head rotation motion, the time evolutions of both endolymph flow and cupular deformation are analyzed in this article by using a fully coupled fluid-structure interaction model. It is shown that the cupular deformation provides cues for understanding the physiology of sensing the head rotation.

Based on the results of total-energy calculations for embedded clusters using self-consistent-field Xα-scatteredwave method,we determined the tetragonal fine structure of K(Ta_(0.56)Nb_(0.44))O_(3),i.e.,the equilibrium configuration of B-site cations(Ta and Nb)in the ferroelectric *** is found to have an off-center displacement of about 0.02A along[001].The off-center displacement of Nb is much larger than that of Ta,thus it makes a major contribution to the occurrence of the ferroelectric instability.

Infrared(IR)detection is vital for various military and civilian *** research has highlighted the potential of two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetals in IR detection due to their distinctive advantages,including van der Waals(vdW)stacking,gapless electronic structure,and Van Hove singularities in the electronic density of ***,challenges such as large-scale patterning,poor photoresponsivity,and high dark current of photodetectors based on 2D topological semimetals significantly impede their wider applications in low-energy photon ***,we demonstrate the in situ fabrication of PtSe_(2)/Ge Schottky junction by directly depositing 2D PtSe_(2) films with a vertical layer structure on a Ge substrate with an ultrathin AlOx *** to high quality junction,the photodetector features a broadband response of up to 4.6μm,along with a high specific detectivity of�1012 Jones,and operates with remarkable stability in ambient conditions as ***,the highly integrated device arrays based on PtSe_(2)/AlOx/Ge Schottky junction showcases excellent Mid-IR(MIR)imaging capability at room *** findings highlight the promising prospects of 2D topological semimetals for uncooled IR photodetection and imaging applications.

Restudy of the storage and migration model of the Quaternary groundwater in Beijing Plain area

Through a wide-spread groundwater sampling mainly at nested monitoring wells in the Beijing Plain area, combined with data collection, the study analyzes water level, hydrochemistry, temperature, tritium, deuterium, 180, 14C and other aspects, and in- dicates that there exits an obvious stratification phenomenon of the groundwater in the alluvial plain area down in the middle part of alluvial-pluvial fans, and the hydraulic connection between layers is very weak. The analysis of the tritium concentra- tion suggests that the average influence depth of the modem precipitation is approximately 120 m. Based on the analysis of the 22 paleowater samples through the D-~80 method and 14C isotopic dating, the deep groundwater circulation in the fine sedi- ments area of Beijing Plain down in the fringe part of alluvial-pluvial fans is relatively slow. On average the paleowater point occurs approximately below the 180 m at these points. The main reasons for the formation of stratification and paleowater points are the water-blocking effect of the clay type strata and the compaction effect during the sedimentary process, especially the differential compaction, which could form closed or relatively closed stagnant aquifers. Groundwater in this kind of stagnant aquifers to some degree belongs to non-renewable resource, and should be reconsidered and re-arranged in the water resources management strategy.

High-sensitivity room-temperature multi-dimensional infrared(IR)detection is crucial for military and civilian ***,the gapless electronic structures and unique optoelectrical properties have made the two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetals promising candidates for the realization of multifunctional optoelectronic ***,we demonstrated the in-situ construction of high-performance 1T’-MoTe_(2)/Ge Schottky junction device by inserting an ultrathin AlOx passivation *** good detection performance with an ultra-broadband detection wavelength range of up to 10.6 micron,an ultrafast response time of~160 ns,and a large specific detectivity of over 109 Jones in mid-infrared(MIR)range surpasses that of most 2D materials-based IR sensors,approaching the performance of commercial IR *** on-chip integrated device arrays with 64 functional detectors feature high-resolution imaging capability at room *** these outstanding detection features have enabled the demonstration of position-sensitive detection *** demonstrates an exceptional position sensitivity of 14.9 mV/mm,an outstanding nonlinearity of 6.44%,and commendable trajectory tracking and optoelectronic demodulation *** study not only offers a promising route towards room-temperature MIR optoelectronic applications,but also demonstrates a great potential for application in optical sensing systems.
