Glioma is an aggressive malignant primary tumor in the central nervous system[1,2].Although the pathogenesis of glioma is unclear,the only identified environmental risk fac-tor is ionizing radiation[3].However,other factors also may alter the glioma risk,among which gene polymorphisms may play prominent role in glioma *** excision repair(BER)is a DNA repair mechanism that maintains genome integrity and guarantees DNA base modification *** signifcant and common proteins involved in the BER pathway are associated with cancer.

Objective To establish an experimental model of early stage avascular necrosis of the femoral head （ANFH） caused by corticosteroid in adult rabbits and to observe the pathological changes with various imaging techniques. Methods ANFH was induced by a combination of hypersensitivity vasculitis caused by injection of horse serum and subsequent administration of a high dose of corticosteroid. The pathological changes were detected with digital radiography （DR）, computed tomography （CT）, magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）, ink artery infusion angiography, hematoxylin-eosin staining, and immunohistochemistry. Results The imageological and pathological changes corresponded to the clinical characteristics of early stage ANFH. DR showed bilaterally increased bone density, an unclear epiphyseal line, and blurred texture of cancellous bone. CT showed spot-like low-density imaging of cancellous bone, thinner cortical bone, osteoporosis, and an unclear epiphyseal line. MR! showed bone marrow edema and spot-like high signals in T2-weighted imaging in cancellous bone. Ink artery infusion angiography showed fewer obstructed blood vessels in the femoral head. HE staining of pathological sections showed fewer trabeculae and thin bone, an increased proportion of empty osteocyte lacunae, decreased hematopoiesis, thrombosis, and fat cell hypertrophy. Immunohistochemistry showed attenuated expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in osteoblasts and chondrocytes, and on the inner membrane of blood vessels. Conclusion Experimental rabbit model of early stage ANFH caused by corticosteroid can be successfully established and provide the foundation for developing effective methods to treat early stage ANFH.

Background:Dengue cases have been reported each year for the past 25 years in guangdong Province,China with a recorded historical peak in *** study aims to describe the epidemiological characteristics of this large outbreak in order to better understand its epidemic factors and to inform control ***:Data for clinically diagnosed and laboratory-confirmed dengue fever cases in 2014 were extracted from the China Notifiable Infectious Disease Reporting *** analyzed the incidence and characteristics of imported and indigenous cases in terms of population,temporal and spatial ***:A total of 45224 dengue fever cases and 6 deaths were notified in guangdong Province in 2014,with an incidence of 47.3 per 100000 *** elderly(65+years)represented 11.7%of total indigenous cases with the highest incidence(72.3 per 100000).Household workers and the unemployed accounted for 23.1%of indigenous *** majority of indigenous cases occurred in the 37th to 44th week of 2014(September and October)and almost all(20 of 21)prefecture-level cities in guangdong were *** to the non-Pearl River Delta Region,the Pearl River Delta Region accounted for the majority of dengue cases and reported cases earlier in *** virus serotypes 1(DENV-1),2(DENV-2)and 3(DENV-3)were detected and DENV-1 was predominant(88.4%).Conclusions:Dengue fever is a serious public health problem and is emerging as a continuous threat in guangdong *** is an urgent need to enhance dengue surveillance and control,especially for the high-risk populations in high-risk areas.

We present a time-resolved two-photon excitation fluorescence spectroscopy and a simultaneous time- and spectrum- resolved multifocal multiphoton microscopy system that is based on a high repetition rate picosecond streak camera for providing time- and spectrum- resolved measurement and imaging in biomedicine. The performance of the system is tested and characterized by the fluorescence spectrum and lifetime analysis of several standard fluorescent dyes and their mixtures. Spectrum-resolved fluorescence lifetime images of fluorescence beads are obtained. Potential applications of the system include clinical diagnostics and cell biology etc.

With the escalating prevalence of global heat waves,heat stroke has become a prominent health concern,leading to substantial liver *** other forms of liver injury,heat strokeinduced damage is characterized by heat cytotoxicity and heightened inflammation,directly contributing to elevated mortality *** clinical assessments have identified elevated bilirubin levels as indicative of Kupffer cell dysfunction,their specific correlation with heat stroke liver injury remains *** hypothesis proposes the involvement of Kupffer cell ferroptosis during heat stroke,initiating IL-1bmediated *** single-cell RNA sequencing of murine macrophages,a distinct and highly susceptible Kupffer cell subtype,Clec4Ft/CD206t,emerged,with heme oxygenase 1(HMOX-1)playing a pivotal ***,heat-induced HMOX-1,regulated by early growth response factor 1,mediated ferroptosis in Kupffer cells,specifically in the Clec4F t/CD206 t subtype(KC2),activating phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase beta and promoting PI4P *** cascade triggered NLRP3 inflammasome activation and maturation of *** findings underscore the critical role of targeted therapy against HMOX-1 in ferroptosis within Kupffer cells,particularly in Clec4F t/CD206 t *** an approach has the potential to mitigate inflammation and alleviate acute liver injury in the context of heat stroke,offering a promising avenue for future therapeutic interventions.

AIM To investigate the expression of G protein-coupled receptor 31 (GPR31) and its clinical significance in human colorectal cancer (CRC).METHODS To determine the association between the GPR31 expression and the prognosis of patients, we obtained paraffin-embedded pathological specimens from 466 CRC patients who underwent initial resection. A total of 321 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 1996 to December 2008 were included as a training cohort, whereas 145 patients from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2007 to November 2008 were included as a validation cohort. We examined GPR31 expression levels in CRC tissues from two independent cohorts via immunohistochemical staining. All patients were categorized into either a GPR31 low expression group or a GPR31 high expression group. The clinicopathological factors and the prognosis of patients in the GPR31 low expression group and GPR31 high expression group were *** We compared the clinicopathological factors and the prognosis of patients in the GPR31 low expression group and GPR31 high expression group. Significant differences were observed in the number of patients in pM classification between patients in the GPR31 low expression group and GPR31 high expression group (P = 0.007). The five-year survival and tumor-free survival rates of patients were 84.3% and 82.2% in the GPR31 low expression group, respectively, and both rates were 59.7% in the GPR31 high expression group (P < 0.05). Results of the Cox proportional hazard regression model revealed that GPR31 upregulation was associated with shorter overall survival and tumor-free survival of patients with CRC (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis identified GPR31 expression in colorectal cancer as an independent predictive factor of CRC patient survival (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION High GPR31 expression levels were found to be correlated with pM classification of CRC and to serve as

Background:Glioma is one of the central nervous system(CNS)tumors in children,accounting for 80%of malignant brain *** excision repair(NER)is a vital pathway during DNA damage repair *** pigmentosum group D(XPD)or excision repair cross‐complementing group 2(ERCC2)is a critical factor in the NER pathway,playing an indispensable role in the DNA repair ***,the genetic variants in XPD may be associated with carcinogenesis induced by defects in DNA ***:We are the first to conduct a multi‐center case‐control study to investigate the correlation between XPD gene polymorphisms and pediatric glioma *** chose three single nucleotide polymorphisms and genotyped them using the TaqMan ***:Although there is no significant association of these genetic variations with glioma susceptibility,the stratified analysis revealed that in the subtype of astrocytic tumors,the rs13181 TG/GG genotype enhanced glioma risk than the TT genotype,and carriers with two to three genotypes also elevated the tumor risk than 0‐1 ***:In conclusion,our findings provided an insight into the impact of XPD genetic variants on glioma risk.

根据对圈养鲥鱼人工繁殖机理研究结果，采用外源内分泌药物和生理、生态学方法，对池塘驯化养成的亲鱼进行8种不同药物，5种不同剂型和操作方法的诱导成熟实验，筛选出“鲥Ⅰ号”和“鲥Ⅱ号”两种剂型。在性腺发有启动前和启动初期，采用理植“鲥Ⅰ号”的慢性处理方式和生态调控措施，调节机体的胰岛素和性类固醇水平，进而刺激机体脂肪积累和脑垂体GtH的积累。在性腺发育启动后采用“鲥Ⅱ号”的急慢性处理方式，促进GtH的维持和释放，诱导池养鲥鱼性腺发育成熟。4、5、6龄亲鱼催熟率分别为83．3％、87．5％和100％。研究表明，脂肪积累和外源性类固醇激素是鲥鱼性腺发育的启动因子；4月份肠系膜脂肪系数低于1．5％的亲鱼性腺发育受到抑制；雌、雄亲鱼性腺成熟的有效积温分别为（3995．5±31．4）度·日和（2278．1±8．9）度·日；在催产过程中采用生理生态措施克服池养鲥鱼排卵机制障碍，催产率为100％；95年获受精卵80万粒，受精率为75％，96年获全人工繁殖鱼苗5000余尾。
