OBJECTIVE:To formulate the first clinical practice guideline for the treatment of cough using Chinese medicine based on the grading of recommendations assessment,development,and evaluation(GRADE)systematic approach,including clinical evidence,evaluation of ancient literature,and expert consensus.METHODS:In the process of development,the regulation of"evidence-based,consensus-assisted,and empirical"was followed,and a comprehensive systematic approach of recommendation assessment,GRADE,evidence-based evaluation,expert consensus,and the Delphi method was used.In the process of guideline development,evidence-based evaluation of ancient literature was included for the first time,and clinical evidence was fully integrated with clinical expert consensus.RESULTS:The clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of cough with Chinese herbal medicine were developed after a comprehensive consideration of evidence-based evaluation and expert opinions.The guideline recommendations focused on recommending herbal compound decoctions and Chinese patent medicines for cough in different conditions.Based on the GRADE systematic approach,we conducted an evidence-based evaluation of the recommended Chinese patent medicines one by one;meanwhile,the expert consensus method was used to unify the recommendations of both.CONCLUSION:Based on clinical evidence,ancient literature evaluation,and expert consensus,a clinical practice guideline for Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in the treatment of cough was developed,providing the first current clinical practice guideline for domestic and foreign TCM and Western medicine practitioners,especially respiratory professionals at home and abroad.

A New Heat Transfer Model for Multi-Gradient Drilling with Hollow Sphere Injection

Multi-gradient drilling is a new offshore drilling method.The accurate calculation of the related wellbore temperature is of great significance for the prediction of the gas hydrate formation area and the precise control of the wellbore pressure.In this study,a new heat transfer model is proposed by which the variable mass flow is properly taken into account.Using this model,the effects of the main factors influencing the wellbore temperature are analyzed.The results indicate that at the position where the separation injection device is installed,the temperature increase of the fluid in the drill pipe is mitigated due to the inflow/outflow of hollow spheres,and the temperature drop of the fluid in the annulus also decreases.In addition,a lower separation efficiency of the device,a shallower installation depth and a smaller circulating displacement tend to increase the temperature near the bottom of the annulus,thereby helping to reduce the hydrate generation area and playing a positive role in the prevention and control of hydrates in deepwater drilling.

Solid-state zinc-ion capacitors are emerging as promising candidates for large-scale energy storage owing to improved safety,mechanical and thermal stability and easy-to-direct stacking.Hydrogel electrolytes are appealing solid-state electrolytes because of eco-friendliness,high conductivity and intrinsic flexibility.However,the electrolyte/electrode interfacial contact and anti-freezing properties of current hydrogel electrolytes are still challenging for practical applications of zinc-ion capacitors.Here,we report a class of hydrogel electrolytes that couple high interfacial adhesion and anti-freezing performance.The synergy of tough hydrogel matrix and chemical anchorage enables a well-adhered interface between hydrogel electrolyte and electrode.Meanwhile,the cooperative solvation of ZnCl2 and liCl hybrid salts renders the hydrogel electrolyte high ionic conductivity and mechanical elasticity simultaneously at low temperatures.More significantly,the Zn||carbon nanotubes hybrid capacitor based on this hydrogel electrolyte exhibits low-temperature capacitive performance,delivering high-energy density of 39 Wh kg^(-1)at-60°C with capacity retention of 98.7%over 10,000 cycles.With the benefits of the well-adhered electrolyte/electrode interface and the anti-freezing hydrogel electrolyte,the Zn/li hybrid capacitor is able to accommodate dynamic deformations and function well under 1000 tension cycles even at-60°C.This work provides a powerful strategy for enabling stable operation of low-temperature zinc-ion capacitors.

Draft tube vortex rope is considered a special cavitation flow phenomenon in tubular turbine units.Cavitation vortex rope is one of the most detrimental factors affecting the safety of hydraulic turbines.In this study,ANSYS CFX software was utilized to numerically simulate the internal cavitation flow of a hydraulic turbine draft tube.The evolution of the cavitation vortex core was characterized by vortex line distribution and vorticity transport equation.The shape and number of blades influenced the revolving direction and distribution characteristics of the vortex close to the runner cone,which formed a counterclockwise-clockwise-counterclockwise distribution pattern.Simultaneously,there were many secondary flows in the draft tube.Mutual cancellation and dissipation between the flows was one of the reasons for reduction in vorticity.When the cross-sectional shape of the draft tube was changed,the vorticity was distributed from the center of the vortex rope to all parts of the cross-sectional draft tube,with extreme values at the center and at the walls.The vortex stretching and dilatation terms played a major role in the change in vorticity,with the baroclinic torque having an effect at the center of the vortex rope,this study is helpful to understand the flow of water in the draft tube and guide the design and optimization of the draft tube in engineering application.

Cells are the basic unit of life.Electrochemical analysis of single cells/organelles is essential for uncovering the molecular mechanisms of physiological and pathological processes that are difficult to elucidate on a larger scale.This paper provides an overview of the commonly used fabrication methods for micro/nanoelectrodes applied in the investigations of single cells/organelles as well as the corresponding electrochemical measurements over the last four years including extracellular measurement,combination of extra and intracellular measurement,intracellular reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species(ROS/RNS)measurement,and isolated organelles measurement.

Ultrathin organic solvent nanofiltration membrane with polydopamine-HKUST-1 interlayer for organic solvent separation

Polydopamine(PDA)and metal-organic skeleton HKUST-1 were co-deposited on the base membrane of hexamethylenediamine(HDA)-crosslinked polyetherimide(PEI)ultrafiltration membrane as the interlayer,and high-throughput organic solvent nanofiltration membrane(OSN)was prepared by interfacial polymerization and solvent activation reaction.The polyamide(PA)layer surface roughness from 28.4 nm in PA/PEI to 78.3 nm in PA/PDA-HKUST-10.6/PEI membrane,reduced the thickness of the separation layer from 79 to 14 nm,and significantly improved the hydrophilic,thermal and mechanical properties.The flux of the PA/PDA-HKUST-10.6/PEI membrane in a 0.1 g/L Congo Red(CR)ethanol solution at 0.6 MPa test pressure reached 21.8 L/(m^(2)·hr)and the rejection of CR was 92.8%.Solvent adsorption test,N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)immersion experiment,and long-term operation test in ethanol showed that the membranes had high solvent tolerance.The solvent flux test demonstrated that,under the test pressure of 0.6 MPa,the flux of different solvents ranked as follows:methanol(56.9 L/(m^(2)·hr))>DMF(39.6 L/(m^(2)·hr))>ethanol(31.2 L/(m^(2)·hr))>IPA(4.5 L/(m^(2)·hr))>N-hexane(1.9 L/(m^(2)·hr)).The ability of the membranes to retain dyes in IPA/water dyes solution was also evaluated.The flux of the membrane was 30.4 L/(m^(2)·hr)and the rejection of CR was 91.6%when the IPA concentration reached 50%.This OSN membrane-making strategy is economical,environment-friendly and efficient,and has a great application prospect in organic solvent separation systems.

Because of its high mobility and difficult capture,gaseous arsenic pollution control has become the focus of arsenic pollution control.It mainly exists in the form of highly toxic As_(2)O_(3)in the flue gas.Therefore,removing gaseous As_(2)O_(3)from flue gas is of great practical significance for arsenic pollution control.Stabilizing gaseous As_(2)O_(3)on the surface of adsorbents by physical or chemical adsorption is an effective way to reduce the content of arsenic in the flue gas and alleviate arsenic pollution.Over the past few decades,various adsorbents have been developed to capture gaseous As_(2)O_(3)in the flue gas,and their adsorption mechanisms have been studied in detail.Thus,it is necessary to review the strategies of arsenic removal from flue gas by adsorption,which can inspire further research.Based on summarizing the morphological distribution of gaseous As_(2)O_(3)in the flue gas,this review further summarizes the removal of gaseous As_(2)O_(3)by several adsorbents and the effect of temperature and the main components of the flue gas on arsenic adsorption.In addition,the mechanism of arsenic removal based on adsorption in the flue gas is discussed in depth through theoretical calculations,which is the particular focus of this review.Finally,prospects based on the present research state of arsenic removal by adsorption are proposed to provide ideas for developing effective and stable adsorbents for arsenic removal from flue gas.

Gut microbiota intervention attenuates thermogenesis in broilers exposed to high temperature through modulation of the hypothalamic 5‑HT pathway

Background Broilers have a robust metabolism and high body temperature,which make them less tolerant to hightemperature(HT)environments and more susceptible to challenges from elevated temperatures.Gut microbes,functioning as symbionts within the host,possess the capacity to significantly regulate the physiological functions and environmental adaptability of the host.This study aims to investigate the effects of gut microbial intervention on the body temperature and thermogenesis of broilers at different ambient temperatures,as well as the underlying mechanism involving the"gut-brain"axis.Methods Broilers were subjected to gut microbiota interference with or without antibiotics(control or ABX)starting at 1 day of age.At 21 day of age,they were divided into 4 groups and exposed to different environments for 7 d:The control and ABX groups at room temperature(RT,24±1℃,60%relative humidity(RH),24 h/d)and the control-HT and ABX-HT groups at high temperature(HT,32±1℃,60%RH,24 h/d).Results The results demonstrated that the antibiotic-induced gut microbiota intervention increased body weight and improved feed conversion in broiler chickens(Pliver(Plistipes was enriched in control chickens.In contrast,antibioticinduced gut microbiota intervention resulted in a decrease in the relative abundance of Alistipes(P<0.05).Moreover,this difference was accompanied by increased hypothalamic 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)content and TPH2 expression(P<0.05).Conclusions These findings underscore the critical role

Prenatal cadmium exposure impairs neural tube closure via inducing excessive apoptosis in neuroepithelium

Birth defects have become a public health concern.The hazardous environmental factors exposure to embryos could increase the risk of birth defects.Cadmium,a toxic environmental factor,can cross the placental barrier during pregnancy.Pregnant woman may be subjected to cadmium before taking precautionary protective actions.However,the link between birth defects and cadmium remains obscure.Cadmium exposure can induce excessive apoptosis in neuroepithelium during embryonic development progresses.Cadmium exposure activated the p53 via enhancing the adenosine 5‘-monophosphate(AMP)-activated protein kinase(AMPK)and reactive oxygen species'(ROS)level.And cadmium decreases the level of Paired box 3(Pax3)and murine double minute 2(Mdm2),disrupting the process of p53 ubiquitylation.And p53 accumulation induced excessive apoptosis in neuroepithelium during embryonic development progresses.Excessive apoptosis led to the failure of neural tube closure.The study emphasizes that environmental materials may increase the health risk for embryos.Cadmium caused the failure of neural tube closure during early embryotic day.Pregnant women may be exposed by cadmium before taking precautionary protective actions,because of cadmium concentration-containing foods and environmental tobacco smoking.This suggests that prenatal cadmium exposure is a threatening risk factor for birth defects.
