A tri-color quad-beam digital shearography is proposed to achieve the measurement of absolute three-dimensional(3D) displacement gradients.Four laser beams with three different center wavelengths are symmetrically irradiated to the object surface from the upper and lower left and right directions.Four phase maps are then extracted from the two interferograms obtained from two shots.Based on these four phase maps,the absolute 3D displacement gradients are determined.This means of absolute 3D displacement gradient measurement effectively improves the measurement capability of digital shearography and expands its application range.

Ischemic stroke is a common and often devastating disease that prima rily affects the elderly.Treatment currently consists predominantly of acute thrombolysis and/or thrombectomy to restore blood flow.This reperfusion therapy,however,is only accessible to a small fraction of stroke patients,and even among these patients,many still suffer lifelong neurologic deficits.Thus,new stroke therapeutics are urgently needed to improve the quality of life for stroke patients.

Two-dimensional covalent organic framework nanosheets(CONs)with ultrathin thickness and porous crystalline nature show substantial potential as novel membrane materials.However,bringing CONs materials into flexible membrane form is a monumental challenge due to the limitation of weak interactions among CONs.Herein,one-dimensional silk nanofibrils(SNFs)from silkworm cocoon are designed as the nanobinder to link sulfonated CON(SCON)into robust SCON-based membrane through vacuum-filtration method.Ultrathin and large lateral-sized SCONs are synthesized via bottom-up interface-confined synthesis approach.Benefiting from high length-diameter ratio of SNF and rich functional groups in both SNF and SCON,two-dimensional(2D)SCONs are effectively connected together by physical entanglement and strong H-bond interactions.The resultant SCON/SNF membrane displays dense structure,high mechanical integrity and good stability.Importantly,the rigid porous nanochannels of SCON,high-concentration-SO3H groups insides the pores and H-bonds at SCON-SNF interfaces impart SCON/SNF membrane high-rate proton transfer pathways.Consequently,a superior proton conductivity of 365 mS cm^(-1)is achieved at 80C and 100%RH by SCON/SNF membrane.This work offers a promising approach for connecting 2D CON materials into flexible membrane as high-performance solid electrolyte for hydrogen fuel cell and may be applied in membrane-related other fields.

Identifying candidate genes involved in trichome formation on carrot stems by transcriptome profiling and resequencing

Trichomes are specialized structures developed from epidermal cells and can protect plants against biotic and abiotic stresses.Trichomes cover carrots during the generative phase.However,the morphology of the carrot trichomes and candidate genes controlling the formation of trichomes are still unclear.This study found that carrot trichomes were nonglandular and unbranched hairs distributed on the stem,leaf,petiole,pedicel,and seed of carrot.Resequencing analysis of a trichome mutant with sparse and short trichomes(sst)and a wild type(wt)with long and dense trichomes on carrot stems was conducted.A total of 15396 genes containing nonsynonymous mutations in sst were obtained,including 42 trichomerelated genes.We also analyzed the transcriptome of the trichomes on secondary branches when these secondary branches were 10 cm long between wt and sst and obtained 6576 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),including 24 trichome-related genes.qRT-PCR validation exhibited three significantly up-regulated DEGs,20 significantly downregulated,and one with no difference.We considered both the resequencing and transcriptome sequencing analyses and found that 12 trichome-related genes that were grouped into five transcription factor families containing nonsynonymous mutations and significantly down-regulated in sst.Therefore,these genes are potentially promising candidate genes whose nonsynonymous mutations and down-regulation may result in scarce and short trichomes mutation on carrot stems in sst.

This work investigates the start-up characteristics of linear compressors in a refrigeration system through experiment and simulation.Experiments are carried out by a refrigeration test system with a linear compressor controlled by a LabVIEW platform.A simulation model that considers the nonlinear process of gas force is set up on the basis of Runge-Kutta method for linear compressors.Compared with the experimental results,the simulation errors are within 15%,including the unstable state.The influences of ambient temperature and power frequency on linear compressors are studied through experiments.Unstable phenomena exist at 25℃ ambient temperature compared with the designed ambient temperature of 35℃.The unsteadiness mechanism is analyzed by simulation.Simulation analysis indicated that two sensitive stages of linear compressors,namely,starting to pump and touching top dead center,are unstable.Furthermore,properly increasing equivalent mass (approximately 3%) or spring stiffness doring the design stage can be a practical method to improve the stability of linear compressors.

BACKGROUND Cirrhosis is a common liver disease,and ascites is one of the common clinical conditions.However,the clinical manifestations of ascites combined with hyponatremia as a high-risk condition and its relationship to patient prognosis have not been fully studied.AIM To explore the clinical manifestations,prognostic factors,and relationships of ascites with hyponatremia in patients with cirrhosis to provide better diagnostic and treatment strategies.METHODS In this study,we retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 150 patients diagnosed with cirrhosis and ascites between 2017 and 2022.Patients were divided into two groups:ascites combined with hyponatremia group and ascites group.We compared the general characteristics,degree of hyponatremia,complications,treatment,and prognosis between the two groups.RESULTS In the study results,patients in the ascites combined with hyponatremia group showed an older average age(58.2±8.9 years),64.4%were male,and had a significantly longer hospitalization time(12.7±5.3 d).Hyponatremia was more severe in this group,with a mean serum sodium concentration of 128.5±4.3 mmol/L,which was significantly different from the ascites group of 137.6±2.1 mmol/L.Patients with ascites and hyponatremia were more likely to develop hepatic encephalopathy(56.2%vs 39.0%),renal impairment(45.2%vs 28.6%)and infection(37.0%vs 23.4%).Regarding treatment,this group more frequently used diuretics(80.8%vs 62.3%)and salt supplements(60.3%vs 38.9%).Multiple logistic regression analysis identified older age[Odds ratio(OR)=1.06,P=0.025]and male gender(OR=1.72,P=0.020)as risk factors for hyponatremia combined with ascites.Overall,patients with ascites and hyponatremia present a clear high-risk status,accompanied by severe complications and poor prognosis.CONCLUSION In patients with cirrhosis,ascites with hyponatremia is a high-risk condition that is often associated with severe complications.

Si-Al-Y Co-deposition Coatings Prepared on Ti-Al Alloy for Enhanced High Temperature Oxidation Resistance

Si-Al-Y co-deposition coatings were prepared on Ti-Al alloy by pack cementation processes at 1 050 ℃ for 4 h with different halide activators in the packs for enhancing the high temperature oxidation resistance of Ti-Al alloy. The structure, constituent phases, formation process and oxidation behavior of the coatings were investigated. The experimental results showed that the coatings prepared respectively with NaF and NH_4Cl as activators were composed of a（Ti, X）_5Si_4,（Ti, X）_5Si_3（X represents Nb and Cr）, and TiSi_2 outer layer, a TiAl_2 inner layer and an Al-rich interdiffusion zone. However, the constituent phases changed into TiSi_2 in the outer layer and（Ti, X）_5Si_4 and（Ti, X）_5Si_3 phases were observed in the middle layer of the coating prepared with AlCl_3·6H_2O activator. Among the halide activators studied, the coating prepared with AlCl_3·6H_2O was thicker and denser, which is the only suitable activator for pack Si-Al-Y co-deposition coatings on a Ti-Al alloy. The oxidation results show that the coating can protect the Ti-Al alloy from oxidation at 1000 ℃ in air for at least 80 h. The excellent oxidation resistance of the coating is attributed to the formation of a dense scale mainly consisted of TiO_2, SiO_2 and Al_2O_3.

Improving the separation of photogenerated carriers and suppressing the rapid complication of electron-hole pairs are essential ways to improve photocatalytic hydrogen production activity.The high recombination rate of the photogenerated carriers is an issue encountered when developing CdS as a promising photocatalytic material.This work allowed to accelerate the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes by loading monoclinicβ-AgVO_(3)on hexagonal CdS nanorods to construct a one-dimensional(1D)/1D p-n heterojunction.The introduction of monoclinicβ-AgVO_(3)with a narrow band gap effectively improves the light absorption of CdS,which is conducive to improving the use of visible light.The integrated electric field of the p-n heterojunction can effectively transfer electrons and holes in the direction suitable to hydrogen evolution.The photoluminescence and electrochemical characterization of the catalysts showed that the p-n heterojunction formed after loadingβ-AgVO_(3)greatly improved the separation efficiency of photocarriers.The hydrogen evolution experiments show that the composite catalyst has good photocatalytic hydrogen evolution capability and stability.The composite catalyst with the best photocatalytic performance was obtained by studyingβ-AgVO_(3)with different loadings.The composite catalyst reached 581.5μmol of hydrogen amount within 5 h,which is 3.8 times higher than that of CdS alone and its apparent quantum efficiency reaches8.02%.The present work provides a possible solution for the development of perovskite and the extensiveness of CdS in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
