As an active metabolite of venlafaxine and emerging antidepressant,Odesmethylvenlafaxine(ODVEN) was widely detected in different water bodies,which caused potential harm to human health and environmental *** this study,the comparative work on the ODVEN degradation by UV(254 nm) and UV-LED(275 nm) activated sodium percarbonate(SPC) systems was systematically *** higher removal rate of ODVEN can be achieved under UV-LED direct photolysis(14.99%) than UV direct photolysis(4.57%) due to the higher values of photolysis coefficient at the wavelength *** synergistic effects were observed in the UV/SPC(80.38%) and UV-LED/SPC(53.57%) systems and the former exhibited better performance for the elimination of *** degradation of ODVEN all followed the pseudo-first-order kinetics well in these processes,and the pseudo-first-order rate constant(kobs) increased with increasing SPC *** quenching experiments demonstrated that both ·OH and CO_(3)·-were involved in the degradation of ODVEN and the second-order rate constant of ODVEN with CO_(3)·-(1.58 × 10^(8)(mol/L)-1sec-1) was reported for the first time based on competitive kinetic *** introduction of HA,Cl-,NO_(3)-and HCO_(3)-inhibited the ODVEN degradation to varying degrees in the both *** to quantum chemical calculation,radical addition at the ortho-position of the phenolic hydroxyl group was confirmed to be the main reaction pathways for the oxidation of ODVEN by·*** addition,the oxidation of ODVEN may involve the demethylation,H-abstraction,OH^(-)addition and C-N bond ***,the UV-LED/SPC process was considered to be more cost-effective compared to the UV/SPC process,although the UV/SPC process possessed a higher removal rate of ODVEN.

SCS-CN （Soil Conserve Service-Curve Number） model was used for calculating runoff volumes of different land uses and soil types in Xiamen Island based on *** using spatial extension module,overlapping and rasterizing functions of ArcView,nitrogen and phosphorus loads are calculated and displayed as spatial *** 12 mm rainfall,Total nitrogen and phosphorus loads for this urban runoff of Xiamen Island are 764.4 kg and 47.7 *** roads,commercial and industry zones are the main sources for nitrogen and phosphorus pollution and total of which account for 96.4% and 95.1% of the whole nitrogen and phosphorus loads of Xiamen Island individually.

As a strong oxidizing agent,ozone is used in some water treatment facilities for disinfection,taste and odor control,and removal of organic ***(Phe)was used as the target amino acid to comprehensively investigate variability of disinfection byproducts(DBPs)formation during chlorine disinfection and residual chlorine conditions subsequent to *** results showed that subsequent to ozonation,the typical regulated and unregulated DBPs formation potential(DBPsFP),including trichloromethane(TCM),dichloroacetonitrile(DCAN),chloral hydrate(CH),dichloroacetic acid(DCAA),trichloroacetic acid(TCAA),and trichloroacetamide(TCAcAm)increased substantially,by 2.4,3.3,5.6,1.2,2.5,and 6.0 times,respectively,compared with only *** also significantly increased the DBPs yield under a 2 day simulated residual chlorine condition that mimicked the water distribution *** formations followed pseudo first order *** formation rates of DBPs in the first 6 hr were higher for TCM(0.214 hr^(−1)),DCAN(0.244 hr^(−1)),CH(0.105 hr^(−1)),TCAcAm(0.234 hr^(−1)),DCAA(0.375 hr^(−1))and TCAA(0.190 hr^(−1))than *** peak DBPsFP of TCM,DCAN,CH,TCAcAm,DCAA,and TCAA were obtained when that ozonation time was set at 5–15 *** times>30 min increased the mineralization of Phe and decreased the formation of DBPs upon *** bromine ion(Br^(−1))concentration increased production of bromine-DBPs and decreased chlorine-DBPs formation by 59.3%–92.2%.Higher ozone dosages and slight alkaline favored to reduce DBP formation and *** ozonation conditions should be optimized for all application purposes including DBPs reduction.

Electrodes based on composites of silver nanowires(AgNWs)and elastic polymers have been widely studied and applied in various stretchable electronic ***,due to the high aspect ratio of nanowires,the patterning of AgNW-based composite electrodes remains a huge challenge,especially for high-resolution complex circuit wiring on large-size elastic *** this paper,we propose a method for preparing large-size stretchable circuit boards with high-resolution electrodes by the combination of screen printing and vacuum filtration of AgNWs/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)*** as-prepared stretchable electrodes have smooth edges with patterning resolution up to-50 μ*** conductivity of the composite electrode can be precisely controlled by varying deposition densities of AgNWs and have reached to 1.07 x 10^(4) S/cm when the deposition density was 2.0 mg/cm^(2).In addition,the uniformity of conductivity and the resistance-strain characteristics of composite electrodes were systematically evaluated with different AgNWs deposition *** composite electrodes have been successfully employed to construct a large-size programmable display system and an 18-channel surface electromyography(EMG)recording,showing great potentials for some strain-insensitive stretchable circuits in wearable and health-related electronic applications.

Kinetics of oxidation of dimethyl trisulfide by potassium permanganate in drinking water

Metabolites of algae such as geosmin, 2- methylisoborneol etc. are reported to induce pungent odors into drinking water and attract additional scientifc attention. Recently, in China, taste and odor outbreaks in drinking water supply have become increasingly common. In source water affected by eutrophication, dimethyl trisulfide, speculated to be produced by decayed algae, was found to be the source of taste and odor issues and can be removed effectively by usual oxidation agents. In this experimental study, batch scale tests were carried out focusing on the removal of dimethyl trisulfide. Reaction kinetics of dimethyl trisulfide oxidized by potassium permanganate in water had been studied; influence factors such as pH, organic substrate, other existed taste, and odor contaminant in equivalent concentration were also dis- cussed. Results showed that dimethyl trisulfide can be removed by potassium permanganate efficiently; the ratio can reach more than 70% with oxidant dosage of 4 mg. L~ and contact time prolonged to 120 min. The dimethyl trisulfide decomposition followed a second-order kinetics pattern with a rate constant k -- 0.00213 L.（***）-1. Typically, the degradation rate of dimethyl trisulfide was increased with the increasing KMnO4 dosage, but dramatically dropped with the increasing levels of humic acid （1.8-4.5 mg. L-1） and other odor-causing compounds （e.g. fl-cyclocitral, 0-1886.0 pg.L-1）. Solution pH （5.2- 9.0） and initial dimethyl trisulfide concentration did not significantly affected the degradation. This study demon- strates that KMnO4 oxidation is an effective option to remove dimethyl trisulfide from water.

Influence of fault geometry and fault interaction on strain partitioning within western Sichuan and its adjacent region

There are several major active fault zones in the western Sichuan and its vicinity. Slip rates and seismicity vary on different fault zones. For example, slip rates on the Xianshuihe fault zone are higher than 10 mm/a. Its seismicity is also intense. Slip rates on the Longmenshan fault zone are low. However, Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake occurred on this fault zone in 2008. Here we study the impact of fault geometry on strain partitioning in the western Sichuan region using a three-dimensional viscoe- lastoplastic model. We conclude that the slip partitioning on the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault presents as segmented, and it is related to fault geometry and fault structure. Slip rate is high on fault segment with simple geometry and structure, and vice versa. Strain rate outside the fault is localized around the fault segment with complex geometry and fault structure. Strain partitioning on the central section of the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault zone is influenced by the interaction between the Anninghe-Zemuhe fault and the Daliangshan fault zone. Striking of the Longmenshan fault zone is nearly orthogonal to the direction of eastward extrusion in the Tibetan Plateau. It leads to low slip rate on the fault zone.

Whole-angle gyroscopes have broad prospects for development with inherent advantages of excellent scale factor,wide bandwidth and measurement range,which are restrictions on rate *** studies on the whole-angle mode are based mostly on the linear model of Lynch,and the essential nonlinearity of capacitive displacement detection is always neglected,which has significant negative effects on the *** this paper,a novel realtime calibration method of capacitive displacement detection is proposed to eliminate these nonlinear *** novel method innovatively takes advantage of the relationship between the first and third harmonic components of detective signals for *** on this method,the real-time calibration of capacitive displacement detection is achieved and solves the problems of traditional methods,which are usually related to the vibration amplitude,environmental variations and other ***,this novel calibration method is embedded into a whole-angle control system to restore the linear capacitive response in real time and then combined with a microshell resonator for the first time to exploit the enormous potential of an ultrahigh Q factor and symmetric *** effectiveness is proven because the angle drift is reduced significantly to improve the scale-factor nonlinearity by 14 times to 0.79 ppm with 0.0673/h bias instability and a 0.0017s rate threshold,which is the best reported performance of the MEMS whole-angle gyroscope thus *** importantly,this novel calibration method can be applied for all kinds of resonators with the requirement of a linear capacitive response even under a large resonant amplitude.

Two sample preparation methods were introduced and compared in this paper to establish a simple,quick and exact analysis of geosmin and ***-18 column was employed in solid phase extraction(SPE),1.0 mL of hexane was adopted in liquid-liquid extraction(LLE),and the extracts were analyzed by gas chromatograph mass spectrum(GCMS)in selected ion *** recoveries of SPE were low for 2-methylisoborneol(2-MIB)and geosmin(GSM)with values below 50%.For LLE,the recoveries were satisfyingly above 50%for 2-MIB and 80%for *** limits of the LLE method were as low as 1.0 ng/L for GSM and 5.0 ng/L for 2-MIB.A year-long investigation on odor chemicals of drinking water in Shanghai demonstrated that in the summer,there was a serious odor problem induced by a high concentration of *** highest concentration of 152.82 ng/L appeared in July in raw water,while GSM flocculation was minimal with concentrations below odor threshold.

The disk resonator gyroscope is an attractive candidate for high-performance MEMS *** gyroscope consists of a sensor and readout electronics,and the characteristics of the sensor directly determine the *** the sensor,a high-quality factor and long decaying time constant are the most important characteristics required to achieve high *** report a disk resonator gyroscope with a measured quality factor of 510 k and decaying time constant of 74.9 s,which is a record for MEMS silicon disk resonator gyroscopes,to the best of our *** improve the quality factor of the DRG,the quality factor improvement mechanism is first analyzed,and based on this mechanism two stiffness-mass decoupled methods,i.e.,spoke length distribution optimization and lumped mass configuration design,are proposed and demonstrated.A disk resonator gyroscope prototype is fabricated based on these design strategies,and the sensor itself shows an angle random walk as low as 0.001°/√h,demonstrating true potential to achieve navigation-grade *** gyroscope with readout electronics shows an angle random walk of 0.01°/√h and a bias instability of 0.04°/h at room temperature without compensation,revealing that the performance of the gyroscope is severely limited by the readout electronics,which should be further *** expect that the quality factor improvement methods can be used in the design of other MEMS gyroscopes and that the newly designed DRG can be further improved to achieve navigation-grade performances for high-end industrial,transportation,aerospace,and automotive applications.
