AIM:To describe the characteristics of peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structure(PHOMS)in myopic children and to investigate factors associated with ***:This retrospective observational study included 101 eyes of 101 children(age≤17y)with *** included patients underwent comprehensive clinical *** nerve canal parameters,including disc diameter,optic nerve head(ONH)tilt angle,and border tissue angle were measured using serial enhanced-depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT).Based on the optic disc drusen consortium’s definition of PHOMS,eyes were classified as PHOMS group and non-PHOMS *** was categorized according to ***:Sixty-seven(66.3%)eyes were found with *** PHOMS could only be detected by optical coherence tomography(OCT).Medium PHOMS could be seen with blurred optic disc borders corresponding to *** most frequent location of PHOMS was at the nasosuperior(91%,61 of 67 eyes)to ONH *** axial length and spherical equivalent were more myopic in the PHOMS group than in the non-PHOMS group(both P1).ONH tilt angle was also significantly greater in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[8.90(7.16-10.54)vs 3.93(3.09-5.25),P1].Border tissue angle was significantly smaller in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[29.70(20.90-43.81)vs 45.62(35.18-60.45),P1].In the multivariable analysis,spherical equivalent(OR=3.246,95%CI=1.209-8.718,P=0.019)and ONH tilt angle(OR=3.275,95%CI=1.422-7.542,P=0.005)were significantly correlated with *** was no disc diameter associated with *** the linear regression analysis,border tissue angle was negatively associated with PHOMS height(β=-2.227,P1).CONCLUSION:PHOMS is associated with optic disc tilt and optic disc nasal shift in *** diameter is not a risk factor for *** changes in ONH caused by axial elongation facilitated an understanding of the mechanism of PHOMS.

Sulfide oxidation under aerobic conditions can produce active oxygen for the transformation of organic pollutants in aquatic ***,the catalytic performance of transition metal-supported carbon material on this process is poor *** study found that Co-loaded carbon nanotubes(CNTs)was able to realize the efficient aerobic transformation of antibiotic ciprofloxacin(CIP)by sulfide,with the pseudo-first order reaction rate constant improved from 0.013 h^(-1)without catalyst to 0.44–0.71 h^(-1)with 100 mg/L Co-loaded *** oxygen(^(1)O_(2))was the main active specie playing key roles in the process of CIP aerobic transformation with presence of Co-loaded *** studies indicated that the excellent electron transfer ability of Co-loaded CNTs might play an important role to promote the electron transfer and facilitate the formation of intermediate H_(2)O_(2)and^(1)O_(2).Additionally,the Co-loaded CNTs/sulfide system effectively reduced the acute toxicity of organic pollutant,and Co-loaded CNTs showed remarkable cycling stability and negligible *** study gives a better understanding for the Co-loaded CNTs mediated aerobic antibiotics transformation by sulfide,and provide a reference for the application of Co-loaded carbon materials on organics aerobic transformation by sulfide.

Abstract The development of physically crosslinked hydrogels with excellent mechanical and sensing properties is of importance for expanding the practical applications of intelligent soft hydrogel ***,after copolymerization of hydroxyl-containing amino acid derivative N-acryloyl serine(ASer)with acrylamide(AM),we introduce Zr4+through an immersion strategy to construct metal ion-toughened non-covalent crosslinked hydrogels(with tensile strength of up to 5.73 MPa).It is found that the synergistic coordination of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups with Zr^(4+)substantially increases the crosslinking density of the hydrogels,thereby imparting markedly superior mechanical properties compared to hydroxyl-free Zr^(4+)-crosslinked hydrogels,such as N-acryloyl alanine(AAla)copolymerized with AM hydrogels(with tensile strength of 2.98 MPa)Through the adjustment of the composition of the copolymer and the density of coordination bonds,the mechanical properties of the hydrogels can be modulated over a wide ***,due to the introduction of metal ions and the dynamic nature of coordination bonds,the hydrogels also exhibit excellent sensing performance and good self-recovery properties,paving the way for the development of flexible electronic substrates with outstanding comprehensive performances.

Understanding how maize(Zea mays)responds to cold stress is crucial for facilitating breeding programs of cold-tolerant *** extensive utilization of the genome-wide association study(GWAs)approach for exploring favorable natural alleles associated with maize cold tolerance,few studies have successfully identified candidate genes that contribute to maize cold *** this study,we used a diverse panel of inbred maize lines collected from different germplasm sources to perform a GWAS on var-iations in the relative injured area of maize true leaves during cold stress-a trait very closely correlated with maize cold *** identified HsF21,which encodes a B-class heat shock transcription factor(HSF)that positively regulates cold tolerance at both the seedling and germination *** varia-tions in the promoter of the cold-tolerant HSF21Hap1 allele led to increased HSF21 expression under cold stress by inhibiting binding of the basic leucine zipper bziP68 transcription factor,a negative regulator of cold *** integrating transcriptome deep sequencing,DNA affinity purification sequencing,and targeted lipidomic analysis,we revealed the function of HsF21 in regulating lipid metabolism homeo-stasis to modulate cold tolerance in *** addition,we found that HsF21 confers maize cold tolerance without incurring yield ***,this study establishes HsF21 as a key regulator that en-hances cold tolerance in maize,providing valuable genetic resources for breeding of cold-tolerant maize varieties.

BACKGROUND Intraoperative persistent hypotension(IPH)during pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)is linked to adverse postoperative outcomes,yet its risk factors remain *** To clarify the risk factors associated with IPH during PD,ensuring patient safety in the perioperative *** A retrospective analysis of patient records from January 2018 to December 2022 at the First Affiliated Hospital of nanjing Medical university identified factors associated with IPH in *** factors included age,gender,body mass index,American Society of Anesthesiologists classification,comorbidities,medication history,operation duration,fluid balance,blood loss,urine output,and blood gas *** was defined as sustained mean arterial pressure30 min despite additional deoxyepinephrine and fluid *** Among 1596 PD patients,661(41.42%)experienced *** logistic regression identified key risk factors:increased age[odds ratio(OR):1.20 per decade,95%confidence interval(CI):1.08-1.33](P<0.001),longer surgery duration(OR:1.15 per additional hour,95%CI:1.05-1.26)(P<0.01),and greater blood loss(OR:1.18 per 250-mL increment,95%CI:1.06-1.32)(P<0.01).A novel finding was the association of arterial blood Ca^(2+)<1.05 mmol/L with IPH(OR:2.03,95%CI:1.65-2.50)(P<0.001).CONCLUSION IPH during PD is independently associated with older age,prolonged surgery,increased blood loss,and lower plasma Ca^(2+).
