Solid complex Zn(Thr)SO 4·H 2O was prepared in a water acetone system. Under linearly increasing temperature, the non isothermal kinetics and the decomposition mechanism of Zn(Thr)SO 4·H 2O were studied by means of thermogravimetry and IR spectrometry. The thermal decomposition processes of the complex could be divided into three stages. The non isothermal decomposition mechanism and the kinetics parameters of the ligand lost process were obtained from an analysis to the TG DTG curves at various heating rates of 5 0, 10 0, 15 0 and 20 0 K/min by two integral and three differential methods. The results show that the random nucleation and the subsequent growth mechanism ( n =3/2) controlled the ligand lost process, the corresponding activation energy E and pre exponential constant A are 139 96 kJ/mol and 10 11 32 s -1 , respectively. The empirical kinetics model equation was constructed.

Rechargeable zinc-ion batteries with mild aqueous electrolytes are one of the most promising systems for large-scale energy storage as a result of their inherent safety,low cost,environmental-friendliness,and acceptable energy ***,zinc metal anodes always suffer from unwanted dendrite growth,leading to low Coulombic efficiency and poor cycle stability and during the repeated plating/stripping processes,which substantially restrict their further development and *** solve these critical issues,a lot of research works have been dedicated to overcoming the drawbacks associated with zinc metal *** this overview,the working mechanisms and existing issues of the zinc metal anodes are first briefly ***,we look into the ongoing processes of the different strategies for achieving highly stable and dendrite-free zinc metal anodes,including crystal engineering,structural engineering,coating engineering,electrolyte engineering,and separator ***,some challenges being faced and prospects in this field are provided,together with guiding significant research directions in the future.

The interaction between oxidation and frictional load can greatly deteriorate the performance of ceramic-metal *** this work,we used WC-Co cermet as a representative of ceramic-metal composites to study its wear failure behavior and protection *** is found that a transition of wear mechanism from mechanical wear to oxidative wear occurs with increasing *** addition of zirconia can significantly improve the anti-oxidation performance and load-bearing capacity of the cermet under the frictional *** is mainly attributed to the modulation of the tribo-oxide layer constitutions and changes in surface *** zirconia component facilitates the formation of a dense protective oxide layer and reduces the content of brittle oxides on the worn *** on the understanding of the temperature-and oxidation-induced compositional and microstructural evolutions at the sliding contact surface and subsurface,a promising approach is proposed for developing ceramic-metal composites with high wear resistance and anti-oxidation capability.

To meet challenges of the global energy crisis and the freshwater resources shortage,the interfacial solarto-steam conversion(ISSC)system was developed quickly in recent *** photothermal materials play an important role in the ISSC *** are devoted to developing a unique photothermal material integrating multiple 3 D design philosophy both at macroscopic and microscopic levels by employing the cost-effective and widespread resources like straw,rose and coffee grounds,for carbonization as solar *** biomass-based carbonized particles(CPs)possess three major advantages:(1)wide sizedistribution is accessible to form 3 D porous rough surface of absorber layer to enhance ability of light absorption;(2)the pristine hierarchical microstructure could absorb nearly all the incident light;(3)the intrinsic vascular bundles with pores on their lumen walls provide a rapid and omnidirectional transport for water and steam escape.A high-efficient solar steam device was fabricated based on the absorber material with its internal 3 D micro textures and external 3 D *** the illumination of 1 sun,the photothermal conversion efficiency of straw,rose and coffee CPs can reach 93.4%,92.8% and 76%,***,a high-efficient solar thermoelectric generator(STEG)is made by coating CPs on a commercial thermoelectric generator and the maximum power of STEG can reach 538.0μ*** scalable biomass-based photothermal materials and high-grade thermoelectric conversion capability could be applied to the water purification and the electricity production.

Nonconventional luminescent materials(NLMs)are a type of organic luminescent materials that does not contain aromatic *** to the simplicity of the synthesis process,mild reaction conditions,good hydrophilicity and biological compatibility,NLMs have attracted much ***,numerous reports indicate that NLMs can only effectively luminesce at high concentrations and in solid state,which limits their applicability in the field of cell *** study addresses this limitation by designing and synthesizing oligomers P1,P2 and P3 using ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether and amine compounds containing ethylene *** oligomers exhibit remarkable luminescence efficiency reaching as high as 9.2%in dilute solutions(0.1 mg/m L),making them among the best NLMs in this ***,the synthesized oligomers exhibit excitation wavelength-dependent and concentration-dependent luminescence intensity,fluorescence response to temperature and p H changes,as well as the ability to identify Fe^(3+),Cu^(2+)and Mo^(5+)in dilute *** characteristics render them potentially useful in the for cell imaging.

In this work,a high-strength Mg-10Gd-2Y-1.5Zn-0.5Zr(wt%)alloy was prepared via eight passes of equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP).The microstructures and mechanical properties of as-cast and ECAP alloys were systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD),optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and electronic universal testing *** obtained results indicate that the microstructure of as-cast alloy consists ofα-Mg dendrite,network Mg3(Gd,Y,Zn)phase and lamellar 14H long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase which is precipitated near the boundary of Mg3(Gd,Y,Zn)*** eight-pass ECAP,the network Mg3(Gd,Y,Zn)phase is deformed and ***,the refined Mg_3(Gd,Y,Zn)particles are not distributed uniformly in the matrix,but still aggregated at the interdendritic ***,the content of 14H lamellas increases obviously,and they become bent and kinked during severe *** is activated in the region between Mg3(Gd,Y,Zn)particles and 14H *** test at room temperature indicates that the ECAP alloy exhibits excellent mechanical property with compressive strength of 518 MPa and fracture strain of 21.6%.The comprehensive high strength and toughness could be ascribed to the refined Mg_3(Gd,Y,Zn)particles,DRX grains and kinked 14H LPSO phase.

The interface between metal nanoparticles(NPs)and support plays a vital role in catalysis because both electron and atom exchanges occur across the metal-support ***,the rational design of interfacial structure facilitating the charge transfer between the neighboring parts remains a ***,a guided nucleation strategy based on redox reaction between noble metal precursor and supportsurface is introduced to construct epitaxial interfaces between Pt NPs and CeO2 *** Pt/CeO2 catalyst exhibits near room temperature catalytic activity for CO oxidation that is benefited from the well-defined interface structure facilitating charge transfer from CeO2 support to Pt ***,this general approach based on support-surface-induced-nucleation was successfully extended to synthesize Pd and Cu nanocatalysts on CeO2,demonstrating its universal and feasible *** work is an important step towards developing highly active supported metal catalysts by engineering their interfaces.

Improving the ammonia synthesis activity of Ru/CeO_(2) through enhancement of the metal–support interaction

The metal–support interactions induced by high-temperature hydrogen reduction have a strong influence on the catalytic performance of ceria-supported Ru catalysts. However, the appearance of the strong metal–support interaction leads to covering of the Ru species by Ce suboxides, which is detrimental to the ammonia synthesis reaction that requires metallic species as active sites. In the present work, the interaction between Ru and ceria in the Ru/CeO_(2) catalyst was induced by NaBH_(4) treatment. NaBH_(4) treatment enhanced the fraction of metallic Ru, proportion of Ce^(3+), content of exposed Ru species, and amount of surface oxygen species. As a result, a larger amount of hydrogen species would desorb by the H_(2)-formation pathway and the strength of hydrogen adsorption would be weaker, weakening the inhibition effect of the hydrogen species on ammonia synthesis. In addition, the strong electronic metal–support interaction aids in nitrogen dissociation. Consequently, Ru/CeO_(2) with NaBH_(4) treatment showed higher ammonia synthesis rates than that with only hydrogen reduction.

Protection of Carassius auratus Gibelio against infection by Aeromonas hydrophila using specific immunoglobulins from hen egg yolk

Specific immunoglobulin (IgY) from egg yolk against Aeromonas hydrophila was produced by immunization of White Leghorn hens with formalin-killed whole cells of A. hydrophila. EliSA test using A. hydrophila as the coating antigen revealed that the specific antibody titer started to increase in the egg yolk at the 13th day post-immunization (P/N=2.18), reached the peak at the 56th day (P/N=13.82), and remained at high level until day 133 (P/N=7.03). The antibody was purified by saturated ammonium sulphate with a recovery rate of 63.5%. The specific IgY inhibited the growth of A. hydrophila at a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml during the 18 h incubation. Pre-treatment of polyploid gibel carps Carassius auratus Gibelio with specific IgY had a protection rate of 60% (6/10) against challenge with A. hydrophila, while none of the fishes in the control groups receiving sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS) or non-specific IgY survived the challenge. Treatment of fishes with the specific IgY 4 h after the challenge also had lower mortality (70%, 7/10), a 30% reduction against the control PBS or non-specific IgY groups (10/10). These results indicate that specific IgY antibodies could be obtained easily from hens immunized with an inactivated A. hydrophila and could provide a novel alternative approach to control of diseases in fishes caused by this organism.
