Ginkgo biloba extract alleviates fatty liver hemorrhagic syndrome in laying hens via reshaping gut microbiota

Background Ginkgo biloba extract(GBE)is evidenced to be effective in the prevention and alleviation of metabolic disorders,including obesity,diabetes and fatty liver disease.However,the role of GBE in alleviating fatty liver hemorrhagic syndrome(FLHS)in laying hens and the underlying mechanisms remain to be elucidated.Here,we investigated the effects of GBE on relieving FLHS with an emphasis on the modulatory role of GBE in chicken gut microbiota.Results The results showed that GBE treatment ameliorated biochemical blood indicators in high-fat diet(HFD)-induced FLHS laying hen model by decreasing the levels of TG,TC,ALT and ALP.The lipid accumulation and pathological score of liver were also relieved after GBE treatment.Moreover,GBE treatment enhanced the antioxidant activity of liver and serum by increasing GSH,SOD,T-AOC,GSH-PX and reducing MDA,and downregulated the expression of genes related to lipid synthesis(FAS,LXRα,GPAT1,PPARγand Ch REBP1)and inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-6,TLR4 and NF-κB)in the liver.Microbial profiling analysis revealed that GBE treatment reshaped the HFD-perturbed gut microbiota,particularly elevated the abundance of Megasphaera in the cecum.Meanwhile,targeted metabolomic analysis of SCFAs revealed that GBE treatment significantly promoted the production of total SCFAs,acetate and propionate,which were positively correlated with the GBE-enriched gut microbiota.Finally,we confirmed that the GBE-altered gut microbiota was sufficient to alleviate FLHS by fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT).Conclusions We provided evidence that GBE alleviated FLHS in HFD-induced laying hens through reshaping the composition of gut microbiota.Our findings shed light on mechanism underlying the anti-FLHS efficacy of GBE and lay foundations for future use of GBE as additive to prevent and control FLHS in laying hen industry.

Multiresponsive,easy-reversible,and dual-visual Pt(Ⅱ)salt nanostructures for advanced anti-counterfeiting application

Smart materials that integrate multi-stimuli response,full reversibility,and dual-visual read-out channel are highly desired for anticounterfeiting and information encryption applications.Herein,we developed a multiresponsive perchlorate terpyridyl Pt(Ⅱ)nano complex which could undergo fully reversible conversion between three forms stimulated by water or formaldehyde molecule due to the extent of Pt–Pt interaction.Meanwhile,a dual-visual channel,i.e.,the colorimetric channel changed from yellow to orange or red and the corresponding luminescent channel from orange to orange-red or red,has also been found.The weak and equivalent strength of ion-dipole interaction and hydrogen bond that generated between formaldehyde/water and Pt(II)salt result in the easy-control reversibility between the three forms.Furthermore,by introducing different polymer matrices,1Cl·ClO_(4)@PMMA(1Cl·ClO_(4):[Pt(tpy)Cl]·ClO4,tpy:2,2':6',2''-terpyridine),PMMA:poly(methyl methacrylate))and 1Cl·ClO4@PVA(PVA:polyvinyl alcohol)are successfully constructed,which exhibit different reversible behaviors since the PMMA and PVA matrix exert different influences on the strength of hydrogen-bond.Those smart Pt(II)salt nanostructures present great potential for high-security-level anticounterfeiting application.

辽东半岛新元古界震旦系甘井子组叠层石出露完好,宏观形态完整,微观构造清晰,是研究新元古代微生物碳酸盐岩建造的理想对象,对恢复古环境和古生态研究具有重要意义。笔者等选择甘井子组地层为研究对象,根据岩性特征该组自上而下可分成3段。叠层石出露于下段的底部和上段的顶部,底部叠层石为透镜状,顶部叠层石呈大规模层状。下段叠层石呈现波纹状—柱状—丘状的形态组合,上段叠层石呈现波纹状—柱状—长柱状的形态组合,均为水深不断增加的结果。笔者等通过对比现代叠层石生长机制,确定甘井子组叠层石纹层的3层构造和形成顺序,分析硬质基底对于叠层石定殖和叠层石密集生长的控制,厘定环境变化从微观到宏观对于柱体形态和叠层石规模的影响,揭示了甘井子组叠层石的形成机制。

False Alarm Attack and Protection of Smoke Detector

Carbon monoxide can cause serious illness or even death if the functionality of smoke alarms fails in the residential home and, in fact, more than 350 persons die every year due to the leak of carbon monoxide. However, vulnerabilities and threats to smoke/CO alarms have not been well-studied. In this paper, through interconnect, a power replay attack has been studied in order to trigger a false alarm. The experimental results demonstrate the smoke alarm can be manipulated. This paper also concentrates on providing a sequence of security methods to defend the smoke alarm system. In future, how to protect smart detectors against attacks will be studied as this can force them to leave high-quality mode of operations.

Reduce Malicious Activity in Trusted Programs

The malicious activity comes in many forms, but many can come through trusted applications that we commonly use. Current systems have the capability to reduce damages, but implementations for the reduction are either outside of the system or are implemented in a manner that is unintuitive or confusing to users. In this paper, an access control method has been proposed that focuses on the alleviation of damage caused by such applications through the interactions between the user, application, and computer system. In details, the proposed model would work as a module or an interceptor to delegate permissions to applications through user input by using existing system calls. The evaluation about the proposed model as well as the first step implementation can show better security protection than existing systems.

Privacy-Preserving Federated Mobility Prediction with Compound Data and Model Perturbation Mechanism

Human mobility prediction is important for many applications.However,training an accurate mobility prediction model requires a large scale of human trajectories,where privacy issues become an important problem.The rising federated learning provides us with a promising solution to this problem,which enables mobile devices to collaboratively learn a shared prediction model while keeping all the training data on the device,decoupling the ability to do machine learning from the need to store the data in the cloud.However,existing federated learningbased methods either do not provide privacy guarantees or have vulnerability in terms of privacy leakage.In this paper,we combine the techniques of data perturbation and model perturbation mechanisms and propose a privacy-preserving mobility prediction algorithm,where we add noise to the transmitted model and the raw data collaboratively to protect user privacy and keep the mobility prediction performance.Extensive experimental results show that our proposed method significantly outperforms the existing stateof-the-art mobility prediction method in terms of defensive performance against practical attacks while having comparable mobility prediction performance,demonstrating its effectiveness.

Effect of ultrasonic vibration on finished quality in ultrasonic vibration assisted micromilling of Inconel718

Inconel718 was machined with the traditional micromilling(TMM)and ultrasonic vibration assisted micromilling(UVAMM)with the different technology parameters,whose surface quality and burrs formation were studied.The results show that TMM often forms pits,bumps and gullies in the size effect range.UVAMM effectively improves the surface quality compared with TMM.The surface defects are significantly reduced with the increase of feed per tooth(fz).When fz exceeds 4 lm,the effect of ultrasonic vibration on the surface quality is no longer obvious.The minimum burr size on the down milling side and the up milling side are 50.23 lm and 36.57 lm,respectively.The feasibility of vibration cutting in improving surface quality and suppressing burr size was verified.UVAMM effectively suppresses the formation of built-up edge,which can significantly improve the micromilling process.The cutting force is obtained through simulation and experiment.They are agreement in the change trend.The finite element simulation can be used to predict the cutting force.Compared with TMM,feeding force(Fx),radial force(Fy)and axial force(Fz)of UVAMM decrease by 7.6%,11.5%and 1.3%,respectively.

This paper is devoted to the L^p(p > 1) solutions of one-dimensional backward stochastic differential equations(BSDEs for short) with general time intervals and generators satisfying some non-uniform conditions in t and ω. An existence and uniqueness result,a comparison theorem and an existence result for the minimal solutions are respectively obtained, which considerably improve some known works. Some classical techniques used to deal with the existence and uniqueness of L^p(p > 1) solutions of BSDEs with lipschitz or linear-growth generators are also developed in this paper.

A Survey of Language-Based Approaches to Cyber-Physical and Embedded System Development

As computers continue to advance, they are becoming more capable of sensing, interacting, and communicating with the physical and cyber world. Medical devices, electronic braking systems in automotive applications, and industrial control systems are examples of the many Cyber-Physical Systems （CPS） that utilize these computing capabilities. Given the potential consequences of software related failures in such systems, a high degree of safety, security, and reliability is often required. Programming languages are important tools used by programmers to develop CPS. They provide a programmer with the ability to transform designs into machine code. Of equal importance is their ability to detect and avoid programming mistakes. The development of CPS has predominantly been accomplished using the C programming language. Although C is a powerful language, it lacks features present in other languages that facilitate the development of reliable systems. This has prompted research into language-based alternatives for improving program quality through the use of programming languages. This paper presents an overview of the characteristics of embedded and cyber-physical systems and the associated requirements imposed on programming languages. This is followed by a survey of relevant research into language- based methods for creating safe, reliable, and robust software for CPS.
