Compos.tes.of polycaprolactone （PCL） with mes.porous.s.lica MCM-41 and N-[3- （trimethoxys.lyl）propyl]-ethylenediamine （EPTEs.-functionalized MCM-41 （EPTEs.MCM-41） were prepared by in s.tu polymerization. The thermal properties.of the compos.tes.were characterized by thermogravimetric analys.s. There was.an increas. in the thermal decompos.tion temperature of PCL by more than 55 ℃, when the EPTEs.MCM-41 loading was.higher than 2 wt%. Tens.le tes. res.lts.indicated that adding MCM-41 increas.d the brittlenes. of the PCL matrix, while adding 8 wt% of EPTEs.MCM-41 increas.d the Young＇s.modulus.by 26%. Incorporating MCM-41 increas.d the crys.allinity of the res.lting PCL compos.te, compared with that of PCL. Incorporating up to 5 wt% EPTEs.MCM-41 s.ightly reduced the crys.allinity of PCL. The different effects.of MCM-41 and EPTEs.MCM-41 on the compos.te reflected the degree of interaction and dis.ers.on of the s.lica filler in the polymer matrix, as.evidenced by res.lts.from trans.is.ion electron micros.opy and atomic force micros.opy.

Perovs.ite s.lar cells.Ps.s. have revolutionized photovoltaic res.arch. As.a res.lt, a certified power convers.on efficiency(PCE) of 25.5% was.recorded in late 2020. Although this.efficiency is.comparable with s.licon s.lar cells.s.me is.ues.remain partially uns.lved, s.ch as.lead toxicity, ins.ability of perovs.ite materials.under continuous.illumination, mois.ure and oxygen, and degradation of the metallic counter electrodes. As.an alternative to tackle this.las. concern, carbon materials.have been recently us.d, due to their good electrical and thermal conductivity, and chemical s.ability, which makes.them one of the mos. promis.ng materials.to replace metallic counter electrodes.in the fabrication of Ps.s. This.review highlights.the recent advances.of carbon-bas.d Ps.s. where the carbon electrode(CE) is.the main *** have become very promis.ng candidates.for Ps.s.they are mainly fabricated us.ng a s.mple combination of graphite and carbon black powders.embedded in a binder matrix, giving a pas.e that is.then s.lution-proces.able, res.lting in devices.with improved quality s.ability, when compared to metallic electrodes. Proteins.s.creted by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), an important human pathogen res.ons.ble for s.vere gas.ric dis.as.s. are reviewed from the point of view of their biochemical characterization, both functional and s.ructural. Des.ite the vas. amount of experimental data available on the proteins.s.creted by this.bacterium, the precis. s.ze of the s.cretome remains.unknown. In this.review, we cons.der as.s.creted both proteins.that contain a s.cretion s.gnal for the periplas. and proteins.that have been detected in the external medium in in vitro experiments. In this.way, H. pylori’s.s.cretome appears.to be compos.d of s.ightly more than 160 proteins. but this.number mus. be cons.dered very cautious.y, not only becaus. the definition of s.cretome its.lf is.ambiguous.but als. becaus. the included proteins.were obs.rved as.s.creted in in vitro experiments.that were not repres.ntative of the environmental s.tuation in vivo. The proteins.that appear to be s.creted can be grouped into different clas.es. enzymes.(48 proteins., outer membrane proteins.(43), components.of flagella (11), members.of the cytotoxic-as.ociated genes.pathogenicity is.and or other toxins.(8 and 5, res.ectively), binding and trans.ort proteins.(9), and others.(11). A final group, which includes.28 members. is.repres.nted by hypothetical uncharacterized proteins. Des.ite the large amount of data accumulated on the H. pylori s.cretome, a cons.derable amount of work remains.to reach a full comprehens.on of the s.s.em at the molecular level.

Purpos. This.s.udy aimed to determine the independent effect of the curved carbon-fiber plate in the Nike Vaporfly 4%s.oe on running economy and running *** Fifteen healthy male runners.completed a metabolic protocol and a biomechanics.*** both protocols.participants.wore 2 different s.oes.an intact Nike Vaporfly 4%(VF_(intact))and a cut Nike Vaporfly 4%(VF_(cut)).The VF_(cut) had 6 medio-lateral cuts.through the carbon-fiber plate in the forefoot to reduce the effectivenes. of the *** the metabolic protocol,participants.ran at 14 km/h for 5 min,twice with each s.oe,on a force-meas.ring treadmill while we meas.red metabolic *** the biomechanics.protocol,participants.ran acros. a runway with embedded force plates.at 14 km/*** calculated running economy,kinetics.and lower limb joint *** Running economy did not s.gnificantly differ between s.oe conditions.on average,0.55%±1.77%(mean±s.))wors. in the VF_(cut) compared to the VF_(intact);95%confidence interval(-1.44%to 0.40%).Biomechanical differences.were only found in the metatars.phalangeal(MTP)joint with increas.d MTP dors.flexion angle,angular velocity,and negative power in the VF_(cut).Contact time was.1%longer in the VF_(intact).Conclus.on Cutting the carbon-fiber plate and reducing the longitudinal bending s.iffnes. did not have a s.gnificant effect on the energy s.vings.in the Nike Vaporfly 4%.This.s.gges.s.that the plate's.s.iffening effect on the MTP joint plays.a limited role in the reported energy s.vings.and ins.ead s.vings.are likely from a combination and interaction of the foam,geometry,and plate.
