Nationwide monitoring of the aquatic environment was initiated in 1988 in Denmark as a means to follow the outcome of the Action Plans for nutrient pollution of the aquatic environment. Five Action Plans have been adopted by the Danish Parliament since 1985 and the nationwide monitoring programme can be used to quantify the outcome as shown by reductions in nutrient discharges from both point and non-point sources. Moreover, the empirical experience gathered from nearly 20 years of monitoring is assisting the development and calibration of models for simulation of nitrogen leaching, nitrogen removal in groundwater and surface waters and the establishment of a P-index all covering the entire land area of Denmark.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 3(HeR3)is a unique member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor(HeR/eGFR)family,since it has negligible kinase ***,HeR3 must interact with a kinase-proficient receptor to form a heterodimer,leading to the activation of signaling *** of HeR3 is observed in various human cancers,including non-small cell lung cancer(NsCLC),and correlates with poor clinical outcomes in *** on the underlying mechanism demonstrate that HeR3-initiated signaling promotes tumor metastasis and causes treatment failure in human *** of HeR3 is frequently observed in eGFR-mutant NsCLC treated with eGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs).Increased expression of HeR3 triggers the so-called eGFR-independent mechanism via interactions with other receptors to activate“by-pass signaling pathways”,thereby resulting in resistance to *** date,no HeR3-targeted therapy has been approved for cancer *** both preclinical and clinical studies,targeting HeR3 with a blocking an-tibody(Ab)is the only strategy being *** evaluations of an anti-HeR3 Ab-drug conjugate(ADC)show promising results in patients with eGFR-TKI-resistant ***,we summarize our understanding of the unique biology of HeR3 in NsCLC refractory to eGFR-TKIs,with a focus on its dimerization partners and subsequent activation of signaling *** also discuss the latest development of the therapeutic Abs and ADCs targeting HeR3 to abrogate eGFR-TKI resistance in NsCLC.

The CFD simulation accuracy mostly depends on the appropriate setting of boundary conditions and numerical simulation *** study shows the influence of two types of boundary condition settings on the CFD simulation results of Double-skin Facade(DsF)for a specific *** two boundary settings are the constant temperature on the DsF surfaces called Boundary A,and Boundary B is defined via solar radiation using the Discrete Ordinate radiation Model(DOM).The paper verified both the numerical simulations using the experimental *** the numerical results of two types of boundaries with experimental data shows that both cases underestimated the values lower than 5.2 K and 0.1 m/s for the temperature and velocity respectively at the regarded measured *** A gives more accurate temperature prediction results,while Boundary B shows velocity magnitude closer to the measurements in the middle height of the cavity;the average temperature and velocity differences between the two boundary types are 0.6 K and 0.003 m/s respectively which are ***,the selection of boundary conditions depends on study purposes,however,when the DsF is equipped with blinds and if there is not enough data in hand but the exact value of solar irradiation,using the Boundary B approach is suggested;it can provide reasonable results associated with multi-type of thermal boundary conditions at the same ***,if the goal is to investigate the flow pattern in the DsF,Boundary B is argued to perform better than the constant temperature boundary condition.

Background:Despite the United states(Us)having an abundant supply of COVID-19 vaccines,vaccination rates lag behind other high-income countries,suggesting that vaccine hesitancy and attitudes play a greater role in public health measures than pure supply and *** the acknowledgment that vaccination attitudes and status may or may not be correlated,this study examined COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among vaccinated Us adults by asking:(1)What is the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among the vaccinated?(2)Does COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy vary across sociodemographic characteristics?(3)Does COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy vary by healthcare access and influenza vaccination over the past 5 years?Methods:Data were collected through an online survey of 2022 Us adults with a final analytic sample of 1383 vaccinated ***:Overall,48.8%of vaccinated adults reported some level of hesitancy,while a slight majority reported they were“not at all hesitant”.Younger respondents,women,and Black and American Indian or Alaska Native participants had greater adjusted odds of being more hesitant towards receiving the COVID-19 ***-dents who had a primary care physician had greater adjusted odds than those who did not have a primary care physician of being more hesitant towards receiving the COVID-19 ***:This is the first population-based national sample study examining COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among vaccinated individuals from subgroups of distinctive backgrounds in order to inform targeted strategies for reducing vaccine *** can assist in efforts to increase vaccination rates and also decrease vaccine hesitancy at the national level.

semiconductor materials provide a compelling platform for quantum technologies(QT).However,identifying promising material hosts among the plethora of candidates is a major ***,we have developed a framework for the automated discovery of semiconductor platforms for QT using material informatics and machine learning *** approaches were implemented to label data for training the supervised machine learning(ML)algorithms logistic regression,decision trees,random forests and gradient *** find that an empirical approach relying exclusively on findings from the literature yields a clear separation between predicted suitable and unsuitable *** contrast to expectations from the literature focusing on band gap and ionic character as important properties for QT compatibility,the ML methods highlight features related to symmetry and crystal structure,including bond length,orientation and radial distribution,as influential when predicting a material as suitable for QT.

Background： The objective of this study was to characterize the changes in various metabolic parameters in blood and milk during IMI challenge with escherichia coli （e. coh. for dairy cows during early lactation. Thirty, healthy primiparous Holstein cows were infused （h = 0） with -20-40 cfu of live e. coil into one front mammary quarter at -4-6 wk in lactation. Daily feed intake and milk yield were recorded. At -12, 0, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96, 108, 120, 132, 144, 156, 168, 180 and 192 h relative to challenge rectal temperatures were recorded and quarter foremilk was collected for analysis of shedding of e. coil Composite milk samples were collected at -180, -132, -84, -36, -12, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 132 and 180 h relative to challenge （h=0） and analyzed for lactate dehydrogenase （LDH）, somatic cell count, fat, protein, lactose, citrate, beta-hydroxybutyrate （BHBA）, free glucose （fglu）, and glucose-6-phosphate （G6P）. Blood was collected at -12, 0, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 60, 72, 84, 132 and 180 h relative to challenge and analyzed for plasma non-esterified fatty acids （NeFA）, BHBA and glucose concentration. A generalized linear mixed model was used to determine the effect of IMI challenge on metabolic responses of cows during early lactation. Results： By 12 h, e. coli was recovered from challenged quarters and shedding continued through 72 h. Rectal temperature peaked by 12 h post-challenge and returned to pre-challenge values by 36 h post-IMI challenge. Daily feed intake and milk yield decreased （P 〈0.05） by 1 and 2 d, respectively, after mastitis challenge. Plasma BHBA decreased （12 h, P 〈0.05） from 0.96± 1.1 at 0 h to 0.57±0.64 mmol/L by ]8 h whereas concentration of plasma NeFA （78 h） and glucose （24 h） were significantly greater, 11 and 27%, respectively, after challenge. In milk fglu, lactose, citrate, fat and protein yield were lower whereas yield of BHBA and G6P were higher after challenge when compared to pre-challenge values. Conclusion

In this paper, I continue the study of the mathematical models presented in [J. C. larsen, Models of cancer growth, J. Appl. Math. Comput. 53 (1–2) (2015) 613–645] and [J. C. larsen, The bistability theorem in a model of metastatic cancer, to appear in Appl. Math. ]. I shall prove the bistability theorem for the ODe model from [larsen, 2015]. It is a mass action kinetic system in the variables C cancer, GF growth factor and GI growth inhibitor. This theorem says that for some values of the parameters, there exist two positive singular points c ∗ + = ( C ∗ + , GF ∗ , GI ∗ + ) , c ∗ − = ( C ∗ − , GF ∗ , GI ∗ − ) of the vector field. Here C ∗ − s stable and c ∗ + is unstable, see sec. 2. There is also a discrete model in [larsen, 2015], it is a linear map ( T ) on three-dimensional euclidean vector space with variables ( C , GF , GI ) , where these variables have the same meaning as in the ODe model above. In [larsen, 2015], I showed that one can sometimes find affine vector fields on three-dimensional euclidean vector space whose time one map is T . I shall also show this in the present paper in a more general setting than in [larsen, 2015]. This enables me to find an expression for the rate of change of cancer growth on the coordinate hyperplane C = 0 in euclidean vector space. I also present an ODe model of cancer metastasis with variables C , C M , GF , GI , where C is primary cancer and C M is metastatic cancer and GF, GI are growth factors and growth inhibitors, respectively.

Comparison of estimators of variance for forest inventories with systematic sampling-results from artificial populations

We investigated the quantitative relationship between macrophyte community structure and hydromorphology in 648 rivers in the United Kingdom （UK）.Geographical information,geological features,channel morphology,flow pattern and degree of habitat modification were included to characterize the hydromorphology at each *** analysis,partial least squares projection to latent structures （PLs）, revealed a positive correlation between floristic （abundance and species richness） and hydromorphological variables （p＜0.005）.Depth of channel,substrate type and flow habitat type played significant roles on shaping the community structure of *** communities varied between the gradient of two main types of sites: type 1 was characterised by small-sized mountain rivers with variable flow regime whereas type 2 was characterised by large-sized lowland rivers with deeper and wider channel,and higher and more stable flows Dominant species differ between unimpacted and impacted rivers （defined in term of habitat modification and eutrophication）.seventeen macrophyte species were identified as indicators for different hydromorphological environments in *** these indicator species,submerged and emergent species were dominant over （＞40%） amphibious *** PLs model is sufficiently sensitive （cross validation:Q＞0.4,p＜0.05） to be used in the management of river macrophyte *** can predict the macrophyte communities from hydromorphological variables in rivers,and assess the ecological impacts into five classes based on the ordinal measure of *** impact of physical alteration on macrophyte communities can therefore be quantified from the *** implications of this work on monitoring river health are discussed.

Background:Large area forest inventories often use regular grids(with a single random start)of sample locations to ensure a uniform sampling intensity across the space of the surveyed populations.A design-unbiased estimator of variance does not exist for this ***,a quasi-default estimator applicable to simple random sampling(sRs)is used,even if it carries with it the likely risk of overestimating the variance by a practically important *** better exploit the precision of systematic sampling we assess the performance of five estimators of variance,including the quasi *** this study,simulated systematic sampling was applied to artificial populations with contrasting covariance structures and with or without linear *** compared the results obtained with the sRs,Matern’s,successive difference replication,Ripley’s,and D’Orazio’s variance ***:The variances obtained with the four alternatives to the sRs estimator of variance were strongly correlated,and in all study settings consistently closer to the target design variance than the estimator for *** latter always produced the greatest *** populations with a near zero spatial autocorrelation,all estimators,performed equally,and delivered estimates close to the actual design ***:Without a linear trend,the sDR and DOR estimators were best with variance estimates more narrowly distributed around the benchmark;yet in terms of the least average absolute deviation,Matern’s estimator held a narrow *** a strong or moderate linear trend,Matern’s estimator is *** large populations,and a low sampling intensity,the performance of the investigated estimators becomes more similar.
