一种新型功能化双自由基的合成及EPR表征

新开发的双自由基(TN3)由全取代三苯甲基自由基(trityl)和氮氧自由基两部分组成.TN3的室温EPR谱图由4条不对称的宽谱线组成,具有典型的双自由基特征.以抗坏血酸作为模型化合物发现该双自由基能用来同时检测体系的氧化还原态和氧气浓度.

There are many potential hazards in the underground mining these include fire, explosion, inundation, roof collapse, toxic gases, chemical pollution, etc. Over past centuries, in US alone, more than 100 000 miners lost their life in different accidents. The primary safety methods used in underground mines concentrate on the monitoring of the hazardous gases, fire detection and ventilation. Using advanced instruments and monitoring techniques have significantly reduced the accidents in the modern mines. However despite the advancement of these monitoring facilities, accidents still occur in underground mining annually in the world, and many miners were killed because they were trapped and unable to escape due to blocked of exit access. Described a new development for the emergency evacuation system in underground mines and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the system. It is expected that the new system will greatly improve the emergency exit methods and save more lives in the future.

Predictors of visual outcome in eyes with choroidal neovascularization secondary to age related macular degeneration treated with intravitreal bevacizumab monotherapy

AIM:To evaluate the predictors of visual improvement in eyes with naive choroidal neovascularization secondary to age-related macular degeneration (CNV -AMD) treated with intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB) monotherapy. METHODS:Fifty eyes with naive CNV-AMD with pretreatment best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) better than 20/200 and treated with IVB monotherapy were evaluated. Several variables including age, sex, pre-treatment BCVA, CNV type and lesion size on fluorescein angiogram as well as SD-OCT parameters including pre-treatment central macular thickness (CMT), inner-segment/outer-segment (IS/OS) junction integrity, and external limiting membrane (ElM) integrity were analyzed to predict visual ***:On univariate regression, pretreatment ElM damage was associated with less visual improvement after treatment (P =0.0145). However, ElM damage predicted only 10% of the visual outcome. On multivariate regression, pretreatment BCVA, IS/OS junction, and ElM integrity on SD-OCT were the significant predictors for the treatment effect and together predicted 37% of visual improvement. CONClUSION:Pretreatment BCVA, ElM and IS/OS junction integrity on SD-OCT are of significant value inpredicting the visual improvement in naive wet AMD patients treated with IVB monotherapy.

Although scientific conclusions remain equivocal,there is evidence-based research,as well as anecdotal support,suggesting that altitude training can enhance performance among Olympic level athletes,particularly in endurance *** appears to be due primarily to hypoxia-induced increases in total hemoglobin mass and subsequent improvements in maximal oxygen uptake and other factors contributing to aerobic *** less clear,it is possible that non-hematological adaptations may contribute secondarily to improvements in post-altitude *** physiological effects are most likely realized when the altitude exposure is of sufficient“hypoxic dose”to provide the necessary stimuli for performance-affecting changes to occur via hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α)and hypoxia-inducible factor 2α(HIF-2α)pathways and their downstream molecular *** USA has made a strong commitment over the past 20 years to utilizing altitude training for the enhancement of performance in elite athletes in preparation for the Olympic Games and World *** USA’s strongest medal-producing Olympic sports-USA Swimming and USA Track and Field-embraced altitude training several years ago,and they continue to be leaders within Team USA in the practical and successful application of altitude *** USA Swimming utilizes traditional“live high and train high”(lH+TH)altitude training,USA Track and Field tends more toward the use of the altitude training strategy whereby athletes live high(and potentially sleep higher,either naturally or via simulated altitude),while training high during moderate-intensity(lactate threshold 2)training sessions,and train low during high-intensity(>lactate threshold 2)training sessions(lH+TH_([lT])+Tl_([>lT])).Although USA Swim-ming and USA Track and Field have taken different approaches to altitude training,they have been equally successful at the Olympic Games and World Championships,both teams being ranked first

Inflammatory choroidal neovascularization after tubercular posterior scleritis

A 45-year-old female presented with typical features of posterior scleritis in her left eye with visual acuity of 20/252. After treatment with oral steroids and immunosuppressive drugs, at 2 months follow-up, posterior scleritis resolved and visual acuity improved to 20/50. Five months later she presented with vision loss(20/160) associated with active choroidal neovascular membrane(CNVM) close to scar. Significant choroidal thinning(subfoveal choroidal thickness =137 microns), compared to fellow eye(subfoveal choroidal thickness =247 microns) was noted. Two doses of intravitreal bevacizumab(IVB) were given at 1 month interval. At 9 months follow-up, her visual acuity was maintained at 20/160 with scarred CNVM. In conclusion, IVB is safe and efficacious in treatment of inflammatory CNVM secondary to posterior scleritis. Choroidal changes after posterior scleritis could be contributory factor for formation of CNVM.
