窄波UVB光线疗法对泛发性扁平苔癣的治疗

Introduction. UVA phototherapy, acitretin and oral corticosteroids are currently the front-line treatment of disseminated cutaneous lichen planus. We studied the efficacy of narrowband UVB therapy in this indication. Patients and methods. We retrospectively studied the dossiers of patients suffering from disseminated cutaneous lichen planus, treated with narrowband phototherapy in the Phototherapy Unit of the University hospital in Montpellier, from May to November of the year 2001. Disseminated lichen planus was defined as lichen involving at least 20p. 100 of the skin surface. Twenty patients were included. UVB were applied thrice weekly using a Philips Tl01 cubicle (311313 nm). The protocol was that used for the treatment of psoriasis. We defined 4 types of response: complete response (disappearance of more than 90p. 100 of the lesions), partial response (disappearance of at least 50p. 100) poor response (improvement in 20 to 50p. 100) and failure (less than 20p. 100 reduction in the lesions). Assessment of relapses in the long term was made using a telephone survey among the patients treated or their physicians. Results. Complete response was obtained in 11 out of the 20 patients (55p. 100) and partial response in 4 (20p. 100), corresponding to 75p. 100 of the responders. Response was obtained with a median delay of 3 months, ranging from 2 to 6 months, following a median of 30 sessions (12 to 50) and acumulated dose of UVB of 36± 4.8 joules/cm2. The phototype, gender, age and duration of evolution before treatment did not influence the response. The relapse rate was and estimated 18p. 100 (2/11) 42 months after treatment had been stopped. Discussion. In our opinion, these results underline the efficacy of narrowband UVB in the treatment of disseminated cutaneous lichen planus. They confirm those of earlier studies and are superimposable with those of oral UVA phototherapy.

Many animals consume the feces of their *** allo-coprophagy can have benefits,such as access to nutrients and symbionts,but also risks for consumers,mainly due to direct contact with pathogens that develop on *** the European earwig Forficula auricularia,mothers and juveniles live in nests lined with their *** surprising habit allows juveniles to consume the feces of their siblings during family life and provides them with nutritional benefits when mothers provide low ***,it was unclear whether earwig mothers also practice allo-coprophagy,and whether this behavior is motivated by their nutritional ***,we set up four types of experimental families in which we manipulated the nutritional needs of mothers and/or juveniles and measured the effects on the production of feces by the juveniles,and the consumption of these feces by the *** results first show that fed juveniles produced more feces pellet in presence of fed compared to food-deprived *** also found that,overall,about 50%of the mothers consumed juveniles *** consumption was both more likely and larger when the feces were produced by fed compared to food-deprived juveniles,while the proportion of feces pellets eaten was larger in food-deprived compared to fed ***,our results reveal that allo-coprophagy involves every family member and suggest that it can have both nutritional and non-nutritional benefits for earwig ***-coprophagy could thus favor the maintenance of mothers in the nest and,more generally,promote the early evolution of family life.

The olfactory mucosa holds olfactory sensory neurons directly in contact with an aggressive environment. In order to maintain its integrity, it is one of the few neural zones which are continuously renewed during the whole animal life. Among several factors regulating this renewal, endothelin acts as an anti-apoptotic factor in the rat olfactory epithelium. In the present study, we explored whether endothelin could also act as a proliferative factor. Using primary culture of the olfactory mucosa, we found that an early treatment with endothelin increased its growth. Consistently, a treatment with a mixture of BQ123 and BQ788(endothelin receptor antagonists) decreased the primary culture growth without affecting the cellular death level. We then used combined approaches of calcium imaging, reverse transcriptase-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and protein level measurements to show that endothelin was locally synthetized by the primary culture until it reached confluency. Furthermore, in vivo intranasal instillation of endothelin receptor antagonists led to a decrease of olfactory mucosa cell expressing proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA), a marker of proliferation. Only short-term treatment reduced the PCNA level in the olfactory mucosa cells. When the treatment was prolonged, the PCNA level was not statistically affected but the expression level of endothelin was increased. Overall, our results show that endothelin plays a proliferative role in the olfactory mucosa and that its level is dynamically regulated. This study was approved by the Comité d’éthique en expérimentation animale COMETHEA(COMETHEA C2 EA-45;protocol approval #12-058) on November 28, 2012.

In most eusocial insects,the division of labor results in relatively few individuals foraging for the entire ***,the survival of the colony depends on its efficiency in meeting the nutritional needs of all its ***,we characterize the network topology of a eusocial insect to understand the role and centrality of each caste in this network during the process of food *** constructed trophallaxis networks from 34 food-exchange experiments in black garden ants(lasius niger).We tested the influence of brood and colony size on(i)global indices at the network level(i.e.,efficiency,resilience,centralization,and modularity)and(ii)individual values(i.e.,degree,strength,betweenness,and the clustering coefficient).Network resilience,the ratio between global efficiency and centralization,was stable with colony size but increased in the presence of broods,presumably in response to the nutritional needs of *** metrics highlighted the major role of foragers in food *** addition,a hierarchical clustering analysis suggested that some domestics acted as intermediaries between foragers and other *** appeared to be hierarchical rather than random or centralized exclusively around ***,our results suggested that networks emerging from social insect interactions can improve group performance and thus colony fitness.

Rice genes OsDjA2 and OsERF104,encoding a chaperone protein and an APETElA2/ethylene-responsive factor,respectively,are strongly induced in a compatible interaction with blast fungus,and also have function in plant susceptibility validated through gene ***,we reported the CRISPR/Cas9 knockout of OsDjA2 and OsERF104 genes resulting in considerable improvement of blast resistance.A total of 15 OsDjA2(62.5%)and 17 OsERF104(70.8%)T_(0)transformed lines were identified from 24 regenerated plants for each target and used in downstream *** of homozygous T1 mutant lines revealed not only a significant decrease in the number of blast lesions but also a reduction in the percentage of diseased leaf area,compared with the infected control *** results supported CRISPR/Cas9-mediated target mutation in rice susceptibility genes as a potential and alternative breeding strategy for building resistance to blast disease.
