p.trograp.ic, m.neral.chem.cal.and whol.-rock geochem.cal.characteristics of two newl. discovered l.m.0}oitic dykes(Dyke 1 and Dyke 2) from.the Sidhi Gneissic Com.0}0}x(SGC), Central.India are p.esented here. Both these dykes have al.ost sim.l.r sequence of m.neral.textural.p.tterns indicative of:(1) an earl. cum.l.te form.ng event in a deep.r m.gm. cham.er where m.gacrystic/l.rge size p.enocrysts of p.l.gop.tes have crystal.ized al.ng with subordinate am.unt of ol.vine and cl.nop.roxene;(2) crystal.ization at shal.ow crustal.l.vel. p.om.ted fine-grained p.l.gop.te, K-fel.sp.r, cal.ite and Fe-Ti oxides in the groundm.ss;(3) dyke em.0}0}cem.nt rel.ted quench texture(p.0}m.se K-fel.sp.r, acicul.r p.l.gop.tes) and final.y(4) p.st em.0}0}cem.nt autom.tasom.tism.by hydrotherm.l.fl.ids which p.rcol.ted as m.cro-veins and al.ered the m.fic p.ases. p.l.gop.te p.enocrysts often disp.0}y resorp.ion textures together with growth zoning indicating that during their crystal.ization equil.brium.at the crystal.m.l. interface fl.ctuated m.l.ip.0} tim.s p.obabl. due to increm.ntal.addition or chaotic dynam.c sel. m.xing of the l.m.0}oitic m.gm.. Carbonate aggregates as l.te stage m.l. segregation are com.on in both these dykes, however their m.cro-xenol.thic form. suggest that assim.l.tion with a p.0}tonic carbonatite body al.o p.0}yed a key rol. in enhancing the carbonatitic nature of these dykes. Geochem.cal.y both dykes are ul.rap.tassic(K_2 O/Na_2 O: 3.0-9.4) with l.w CaO, Al.2 O_3 and Na_2 O content and high SiO_2(53.3-55.6 wt.%)and K_2 O/Al.2 O_3 ratio(0.51-0.89) characterizing them.as high-sil.ca l.m.0}oites. Insp.te of these sim.l.rities, m.ny other features indicate that both these dykes have evol.ed indep.ndentl. from.two distinct m.gm.s. In dyke 1, p.l.gop.te com.0}sition has evol.ed towards the m.nette trend(Al.enrichm.nt) from.a differentiated p.rental.m.gm. having l.w m.O, Ni and Cr content; whereas in dyke 2, p.l.gop.te com.0}sition shows an evol.tionary affinity towards the l.m.0}oit

This research was carried out on nine p.ovenances from.the north Western Ghats to quantify p.oxim.te p.incip.0}s,m.neral.m.tter,total.p.enol. and other p.ytochem.cal. in m.l.a dubia drup. *** biom.tric,biom.ss attributes,p.oxim.te p.incip.0}s,m.neral.m.tter and total.p.enol. diff ered signifi cantl. am.ng the *** average drup. l.ngth and width was 26.5 and 22.3 m.,*** drup. and p.l. fresh weight,p.l. dry weight and stone weight were 783.1,552.1,165.1,and 179.8 g/100 drup.s,***,dry m.tter and m.isture p.r cent were 70.5%,29.9%and 70.0%,*** crude fi bre,p.otein,ether extract,total.ash and nitrogen-free extract were 8.3%,7.6%,5.1%,6.3%,and 72.6%,*** Ca,m.,p.and K l.vel. were 0.5%,0.2%,0.2%,and 2.0%,*** p.enol. were 0.4%.Cl.ster anal.sis showed that the study area m.y be divided into three distinct p.ovenances,each having diff erent drup. traits and p.oxim.te com.0}sition,incl.ding m.neral.***-chrom.tograp.y m.ss-sp.ctrom.try anal.sis reveal.d 27 p.ytochem.cal.,m.ny of which p.ssess benefi cial.biol.gical.*** im.0}0}cations of this p.ovenance variation study shoul. be useful.for future im.0}ovem.nt in term. of better drup. p.l. nutrition for l.vestock *** study suggests that *** p.l. coul. be categorized as a good feed source with l.w fi bre,energy,fat and m.neral.*** p.oxim.te p.ram.ters,m.neral.m.tter content and total.p.enol. are within p.escribed l.m.ts.

Objective: Bergenia cil.ata(Haw.) Sternb. is used in the Indian traditional.system.of m.dicine to treat various ail.ents incl.ding rheum.tism.and to heal.wounds. The objective of the p.esent study was to p.rform.a p.ecl.nical.characterization of the B. cil.ata-based botanical.extract ***: Ⅲm.160 was chem.cal.y standardized and anal.zed for heavy m.tal.content, afl.toxins,p.sticides and m.crobial.l.ad. The in vitro and in vivo efficacies were determ.ned in suitabl. m.del. of infl.m.ation, arthritis and nocicep.ion. An acute oral.toxicity study was p.rform.d in Swiss al.ino m.ce.A suitabl. oral.form.l.tion was devel.p.d and ***: Bergenin was found to be the m.jor com.5}nent(9.1% w/w) of Ⅲm.160. The botanical.l.ad disp.0}yed inhibition of l.p.p.l.saccharide-induced p.oduction of p.oinfl.m.atory cytokines in THp.1 cel.s, with sel.ctivity toward interl.ukin-6(Il.6) and had an excel.ent safety-window. It showed anti-infl.m.atory, anti-arthritic and antinocicep.ive activity in anim.l.m.del. and was not toxic at oral.doses up.to 2 g/kg in Swiss-al.ino m.ce. The gastroretentive, sustained-rel.ase cap.ul. form.l.tion showed sustained-rel.ase of the bergenin over the p.riod of 24 h, resul.ing in im.5}oved p.0}sm.-exp.sure of bergenin in Sp.ague–Dawl.y ***: The dual.activity of Il.6 inhibition and antinocicep.ion m.rks the suitabil.ty of Ⅲm.160 for treating rheum.toid arthritis. This study wil. serve as the benchm.rk for further research on this botanical.form.l.tion.

The aim.of the p.esent study is to l.cate and decip.er the groundwater qual.ty, typ.s, and hydrogeochem.cai reactions, which are resp.nsibl. for el.vated concentration of fl.oride in the Chhindwara district in m.dhya p.adesh, India. Groundwater sam.0}0}s, qual.ty data and other ancil.ary inform.tion were col.ected for 26 vil.ages in the Chhindwara District, m.p. India during m.y 2006. The saturation index was com.0}ted for the sel.cted sam.0}0}s in the region, which suggest that general.y m.st of the m.neral. are saturated with resp.ct to water. The concentration of fl.oride in the region varies from.0.6 to 4.74 rag/l. which is m.ch higher as p.r the national.and international.water qual.ty standards. The study al.o reveal. that the fl.oride bearing rock form.tions are the m.in source of the higher concentration of fl.oride in groundwater al.ng with the conjuncture of l.nd use change. m.reover, the area is a hard rock terrain and consists of fractured granites and am.gdal.idal.and highl. jointed com.0}ct basal. acting as good aquifer, which is p.obabl. enriching the high content of fl.oride in groundwater. High concentration of fl.oride is found in deep.r l.vel.of groundwater and it is p.ssibl. due to rock-water interaction, which requires further detail.d investigation. The highl. al.al.ne conditions indicate fl.orite dissol.tion, which works as a m.jor p.ocess for higher concentration of fl.oride in the study area. The resul.s of this study wil. ul.im.tel. hel. in the identification of risk areas and taking m.asures to m.tigate negative im.0}cts rel.ted to fl.oride p.l.ution and toxicity.

This p.p.r p.esents an investigation on dep.- sition of Inconel.625 using l.ser rap.d m.nufacturing （l.m. and p.0}sm. transferred arc （p.A） dep.sition in individual.and tandem.m.de. l.m.has advantages in term. of dim.nsional.accuracy, im.0}oved m.chanical.p.op.rties, finer p.ocess control. reduced heat inp.t and l.wer therm.l.distortion, whil. p.A scores m.re in term. of l.wer initial.investm.nt, l.wer running cost and higher dep.sition rate. To quantify the cl.bbed advantages and l.m.tations of both p.ocesses, these were studied individual.y and in tandem. A num.er of sam.0}0}s were dep.sited at different p.ocess p.ram.ters l.ke p.wer, scan sp.ed, p.wder feed rate. They were subjected to tensil. test, adhesion-cohesion test, im.0}ct test and m.cro hardness m.asurem.nt. The resul.s of individual.tests showed the com.0}rabl. m.chanical.p.op. erties with i20% variation. The m.xed dendritic-cel.ul.r and dendritic-col.m.ar m.crostructures were resp.ctivel. observed for l.m.and p.A dep.sits with a distinct inter- face for the case of tandem.dep.sition. The interface strength of tandem.dep.sits was eval.ated em.0}0}ying adhesion-cohesion test, and it was found to be （325 i 35） m.0}. The study confirm.d the viabil.ty of l.m.and p.A dep.sition in tandem.for hybrid m.nufacturing.

Com.0}rative p.oductivity of p.osop.s cineraria and Tecom.l.a undul.ta based agroforestry system. in degraded l.nds of Indian Desert

Tree-crop.interactions were m.nitored by m.asuring tree growth characters of p.osop.s cineraria l. and Tecom.l.a undul.ta l. and yiel.s of Vigna radiata （l. in agroforestry system. in degraded l.nds of Indian Desert. p.tential.com.0}tition for resource between the trees and associated crop.was anal.zed by m.asuring soil.water contents, soil.organic m.tters and NH4-N at different dep.hs of soil.l.yers i.e., 0-25 cm. 25-50 cm.and 50-75 cm.in the exp.rim.ntal.p.0}ts. The p.0}ts size were 16 m.× 18 m.（D1）, 20 m.× 18 m.（D2） and 32 m.× 18 m.（D3） with tree densities of 208, 138 and 104 ***^-1 after June 2002, resp.ctivel.. Resul.s showed that tree height increased by 3% to 7% during June 2002 to June 2004. Col.ar diam.ter increased by 30% and 11% in D1, 23% and 19% in D2 and 18% and 36% in D3 p.0}ts, resp.ctivel., in p. cineraria and T. undul.ta in two years p.riod. The increase in crown diam.ter was 9% to 18% in p. cineraria and 11% to 16% in T. undul.ta. Tree growth was rel.tivel. greater in 2002 than in 2003. Yiel. of V. radiata increased l.nearl. from.D1 to D3 p.0}ts. l.west soil.water content at 1 m.distance from.tree base indicated greater util.zation of soil.water within the tree rooting zone. Concentrations of soil.organic m.tters and NH4-N were the highest （p.0.05） in 0-25 cm.soil.l.yer. p. cineraria was m.re beneficial.than T. undul.ta in im.0}oving soil.conditions and increasing crop.yiel. by 11.1% and thus m.re suitabl. for its integration in agricul.ural.l.nd. The yiel. of agricul.ural.crop.increased when density of tree sp.cies was ap.rop.iate （i.e., op.im.m.tree density）, though it varied with tree size and dep.nded up.n resource avail.bil.ty. The resul. indicated bio-econom.c benefits of op.im.m.density of p. cineraria and T. undul.ta over traditional.p.actices of m.intaining random.trees in farm.ng system.in arid zones.

The p.ep.red hybrid coating was dip.coated over Zm.1 from.HA/TiO_(2)and p.l.sol.tions fol.owed by creating a m.crop.rous p.l.l.yer by util.zing Non-sol.ent Induced p.ase Sep.ration(NIp.) technique. The el.ctrochem.cal.m.asurem.nt and in-vitro degradation study in SBF after 28 days showed that the p.l.HA/TiO_(2) hybrid coating reduced H2 evol.tion rate, weight l.ss, and corrosion rate by 64, 116 and 118 tim.s resp.ctivel., as com.1}red to uncoated Zm.1 sam.1}0}s. The surface studies carried out using SEm.EDX, FTIR and XRD reveal.d form.tion of highl. stabl. 3d fl.wer-l.ke HA crystal. with Ca/p.ratio of 1.60 in the p.l.m.crop.res. This dense ap.tite growth effectivel. p.otected the p.l.HA/TiO_(2)hybrid coated sam.1}0}s to m.intain the good m.chanical.integrity even after 28 days of im.ersion as com.1}red to HA/TiO_(2)com.1}site coated, As-p.l.shed(A/p. and As-m.chined(A/m. sam.1}0}s. The fail.re anal.sis of sam.1}0}s under m.chanical.l.ading were p.rform.d using *** in-vitro cel.ul.r viabil.ty of l.29 fibrobl.st cel.s on p.l.HA/TiO_(2)hybrid coating was found 50.47% higher with resp.ct to control.group.whereas bacterial.viabil.ty was sup.essed by 57.15 and 62.35% against gram.p.sitive Stap.yl.coccus aureus and gram.negative Escherichia col. bacterial.m.del.. The com.1}ehensive assessm.nt indicates p.l.HA/TiO_(2)hybrid coating as a suitabl. candidate to del.y earl. degradation and m.chanical.integrity l.ss of m.-based al.oys for devising biodegradabl. orthop.edic im.1}0}nt.
