We investigated the variation of permeability spectra and relaxation frequency in co-based amorphous ribbon annealed by pulsed Nd:YAG laser at various annealing energy Ea. The complex permeability spectra varies sensitively with the annealing energy, where the spectra could be decomposed into two contributions from domain wall motion,μdw(f) and rotational magnetization μrot(f) by analyzing the measured spectra as a function of driving ac field amplitude. The magnitude of μdw(f) and μrot(f) in dc limit shows maximum at Ea = 176 mJ. The maximum relaxation frequency for rotational magnetization, determined by μ'(f) curve, is about 700 kHz at Ea=62 mJ but that for wall motion is about 26 kHz at 230 mJ. These variations reflect the increase of magnetic softness and microstructural change by the annealing.

Record-breaking high waves occurred during the passage of the typhoon Bolaven（1215）（TYB） in the East china Sea（EcS） and Yellow Sea（YS） although its intensity did not reach the level of a super *** and directional wave measurements were made using a range of in-situ instruments mounted on an ocean tower and *** order to understand how such high waves with long duration occurred,analyses have been made through measurement and numerical *** winds were generated using the Tc96 typhoon wind model with the best track data calibrated with the *** then the wind fields were blended with the reanalyzed synoptic-scale wind fields for a wave *** fields were simulated using WAM4.5 with adjustment of c_d for gust of winds and bottom friction for the study *** the accuracy of simulations is considerably enhanced,and the computed results are also in better agreement with measured data than *** is found that the extremely high waves evolved as a result of the superposition of distant large swells and high wind seas generated by strong winds from the front/right quadrant of the typhoon *** the typhoon moved at a speed a little slower than the dominant wave group velocity in a consistent direction for two days,the wave growth was significantly enhanced by strong wind input in an extended fetch and non-linear interaction.

compound eyes found in insects provide intriguing sources of biological inspiration for miniaturised imaging ***,we report an ultrathin arrayed camera inspired by insect eye structures for high-contrast and super-resolution *** ultrathin camera features micro-optical elements(MOEs),i.e.,inverted microlenses,multilayered pinhole arrays,and gap spacers on an image *** MOE was fabricated by using repeated photolithography and thermal *** fully packaged camera shows a total track length of 740μm and a field-of-view(FOV)of 73°.The experimental results demonstrate that the multilayered pinhole of the MOE allows high-contrast imaging by eliminating the optical crosstalk between *** integral image reconstructed from array images clearly increases the modulation transfer function(MTF)by~1.57 times compared to that of a single channel image in the ultrathin *** ultrathin arrayed camera provides a novel and practical direction for diverse mobile,surveillance or medical applications.

In this study, three-dimensional liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamic flows in a conduit with multiple channels under a uniform magnetic field are numerically investigated. The geometry of the conduit is of a four-parallel-channels system including one inflow channel and three outflow channels. The liquid-metal flows into the inflow channel, then turns through 180° in the transi- tion segment, finally flows into three different outflow channels. This kind of channel system can induce counter flow and co-flow, which is rarely investigated before though the conceptual designs of duct flow in the blanket have suggested this type of flow. A structured grid system is chosen after a series of mesh independence tests in the present study. The axial velocity in the side layer near the first partitioning wall, located between the inflow channel and the first outflow channel, is the highest with the lowest electric potential formed therein. The pressure almost linearly decreases in the main flow direction, except in the transition segment. Moreover, the pressure gradient in the first outflow channel is the largest among the three outflow channels. The interdependency of the current, fluid velocity, pressure, electric potential is examined in order to describe the electromagnetic characteristics of the liquid-metal flows.

Signaling pathways of gastric carcinogenesis and gastric cancer progression are being avidly studied to seek optimal treatment of gastric cancer. Among them, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-MET, phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and janus kinase 2/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (JAK2/STAT3) pathways have been widely investigated. Their aberrant expression or mutation has been significantly associated with advanced stage or poor prognosis of gastric cancer. Recently, aberrations of immune checkpoints including programmed cell death-1/programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) have been suggested as an important step in the formation of a microenvironment favorable for gastric cancer. Accomplishments in basic research have led to the development of novel agents targeting these signaling pathways. However, phase III studies of selective anti-HGF/c-MET antibodies and mTOR inhibitor failed to show significant benefits in terms of overall survival and progression-free survival. Few agents directly targeting STAT3 have been developed. However, this target is still critical issue in terms of chemoresistance, and SH2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 1 might be a significant link to effectively inhibit STAT3 activity. Inhibition of PD-1/PD-L1 showed durable efficacy in phase I studies, and phase III evaluation is warranted. Therapeutic strategy to concurrently inhibit multiple tyrosine kinases is a reasonable option, however, lapatinib needs to be further evaluated to identify good responders. Regorafenib has shown promising effectiveness in prolonging progression-free survival in a phase II study. In this topic highlight, we review the biologic roles and outcomes of clinical studies targeting these signaling pathways.

(Ba, Sr)RuO3 has been paid an attention as a promising electrode for (Ba, Sr)TiO3 dielectric material due to its similarity in structure and chemical composition with BST. In this study, (Ba, Sr)RuO3 conductive oxide film was deposited on a 4 inch p-type Si wafer by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOcVD) using single cocktail source for the practical device application. Ba(TMHD)2, Sr(TMHD)2, Ru(TMHD)3 precursors and solvent [1-EtylePiPerdine (c7H15 N) ] as starting materials were mixed together for single cocktail source. A liquid delivery system (LDS) and a vaporization cell were utilized for the delivery and vaporization of single cocktail source, respectively. The source feeding rate was controlled by a liquid mass flow controller (LMFc). Deposition parameters, such as the oxygen flow and the source flow rate,were sensitive to phase formation, resistivity and the composition ratio of (Ba, Sr)RuO3 films. Highly (110)-textured (Ba,Sr)RuO3 film was obtained vhen the Ar/O2 ratio was 200/140 sccm at a source flow rate of 0.05 sccm. The process window of stoichiometric composition of BSR film was observed with varying the source flow rate from 0.05 sccm to 0.1 sccm.
