Heat stress(HS)damages livestock by adversely affecting physiological and immunological ***,fundamental understanding of the metabolic and immunological mechanisms in animals under HS remains elusive,particularly in *** understand the changes on metabolic and immune responses in steers under HS condition,we performed RNA-sequencing and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based metabolomics on HS-free(temperature humidity index[THI]value:64.92±0.56)and HS-exposed(THI value:79.13±0.56)Jersey steer(n=8,body weight:559.67±32.72 kg).This study clarifies the metabolic changes in 3 biofluids(rumen fluid,serum,and urine)and the immune responses observed in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of HS-exposed *** integrated approach allowed the discovery of HS-sensitive metabolic and immunological *** metabolomic analysis indicated that HS-exposed steers showed potential HS biomarkers such as isocitrate,formate,creatine,and riboflavin(P<0.05).Among them,there were several integrative metabolic pathways between rumen fluid and ***,HS altered mRNA expression and immune-related signaling pathways.A meta-analysis revealed that HS decreased riboflavin metabolism and the expression of glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism-related ***,metabolic pathways,such as the hypoxia-inducible factor-1 signaling pathway,were downregulated in immune cells by HS(P<0.05).These findings,along with the datasets of pathways and phenotypic differences as potential biomarkers in steers,can support more in-depth research to elucidate the interrelated metabolic and immunological *** would help suggest new strategies to ameliorate the effects of HS,including disease susceptibility and metabolic disorders,in Jersey steers.

INFLUENCE OF LARGE-SCALE VORTICAL STRUCTURES ON THE PARTICLE DISPERSION IN A PLANE MIXING LAYER

The present study considers the developing mixing layer that is formed bymerging of two free streams initially separated by a splitter plate. To investigate the influence ofthe vortical structures on the particle dispersion, numerical simulation was conducted when thevelocity ratio, defined as R = U_∞ - U_(-∞)/U_∞ + U_(-∞), is 0. 5. Large-Eddy Simulation (LES)was employed to understand the effect of large-scale vortical structures originated by theKelvin-Helmholtz instability on the partical dispersion. The flyash with the particle sizes 10, 50,100, 150, and 200um respectively were loaded at the origin of the two-dimensional mixing layer. Itis confirmed that the particle dispersion depends strongly on the motion of large-scale vorticalstructures. The particle dispersion is visualized numerically by following the particle trajectoriesin the mixing layer undergoing pairing interaction.

Regeneration of waste SCR catalyst by air lift loop reactor

A solution of 0.1 mol/L to 1.0 mol/L H2SO4 can dissolve alkali metals and alkaline earth metals which weaken an active site of SCR catalyst. The waste catalyst washed with 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 regained the best catalytic activity. When a concentration of the sulfuric acid is less than 0.5 mol/L, sufficient cleaning effects cannot be obtained. In contrast, when the concentration is greater than 1.0 mol/L, the active components, vanadium and tungsten are undesirably eluted. The total BET surface of the catalyst regenerated by air lift loop reactor showed almost the same as that of fresh catalyst due to the removal of insoluble compounds which may be penetrated into pores of catalyst. The addition of a solution of 0.075 mol/L ammonium vanadate (NH4VO3) and 0.075 mol/L ammonium paratungstate (5(NH4)2O·12WO3 ·5H2O) to 0.1 mol/L H2SO4 significantly increases the activity of the waste catalyst.

Predictive value of E-cadherin and Ep CAM for detection of metastatic lymph node in early gastric cancer

Objective:There has been a demand for a tumor-specific marker for metastatic lymph nodes in sentinel navigation surgery for gastric *** aim of this study is to analyze protein expression in both primary tumors and metastatic lymph nodes in early gastric cancer ***:We collected primary tumors and metastatic lymph nodes from 71 patients who underwent curative gastrectomy and pathologically diagnosed with T1 N1 or T1 N2(8 th Union for International Cancer Control 8 th edition/American Joint Committee on Cancer staging system)gastric *** was used to determine the expression of six cell membrane proteins,including carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),E-cadherin,epithelial cell adhesion molecule(Ep CAM),P-cadherin,CD44 v6,and c-erb B2 in the patient ***:The expression of CEA,E-cadherin,Ep CAM,P-cadherin,CD44 v6 and c-erb B2 in the evaluable primary tumor samples was 75.4%,97.1%,100%,89.9%,11.1%and 7.2%,*** cases wherein both the primary tumor and metastatic lymph nodes were evaluable,double positivity(expression in both primary tumor and metastatic lymph nodes)was observed for CEA,E-cadherin,Ep CAM,P-cadherin,CD44 v6 and c-erb B2 in 53.2%,97.9%,98.1%,76.6%,0 and 6.8%of the cases,*** proportion of metastatic lymph nodes positive for CEA,E-cadherin,Ep CAM,P-cadherin,CD44 v6 and c-erb B2 was 71.4%,100%,98.1%,83.7%,0,and75%,respectively in primary tumors positive for the same ***:E-cadherin and Ep CAM had an overlap of 100%and 98.1%between the primary tumor and metastatic lymph nodes,***,E-cadherin and Ep CAM are potential molecular markers to detect metastatic lymph nodes in patients with early gastric cancer.

A progressive route for tailoring electrical transport in MoS2

Typically, molybdenum disulfide （MoS2） synthesized by chemical vapor deposition （CVD） is polycrystalline; as a result, the scattering of charge carriers at grain boundaries can lead to performances lower than those observed in exfoliated single-crystal MoS2. Until now, the electrical properties of grain boundaries have been indirectly studied without accurate knowledge of their location. Here, we present a technique to measure the electrical behavior of individual grain boundaries in CVD-grown MoS2, imaged with the help of aligned liquid crystals. Unexpectedly, the electrical conductance decreased by three orders of magnitude for the grain boundaries with the lowest on/off ratio. Our study provides a useful technique to fabricate devices on a single-crystal area, using optimized growth conditions and device geometry. The photoresponse, studied within a MoS2 single grain, showed that the device responsivity was comparable with that of the exfoliated MoS2-based photodetectors.

Initial Stability Study of Calcium Phosphate Coated Dental Implants

Thin film of biodegradable calcium phosphate coated on threaded commercially pure titanium （ cp- Ti ） dental implants has been investigated as one of alternatives to eliminate the problem of the long- term instability of plasma sprayed HA coated implants. In order to compare in-vivo bone-to-implant response behavior among as-machined, HA coated and CMP coated groups, each group was implanted into New Zealand white mature male rabbits for 2 and 6 weeks, and then in-vivo biological behavior was examined in terms of H＆E staining. Initial stability and removable torques of implants were compared among three groups. Measured removable torque of CMP coated specimen at 6 weeks after inplantation was significantly higher than that of non-coated group, but slightly lower than that of HA coated group, without any inflammatory response at the surrounding of the implants. The initial stability （ ISQ value ; implant stability quotient ） of CMP coated specimen at 2 weeks after implantation was slightly lower than that of HA coated group and significantly higher than that of non-coated group. However, after 6 weeks, ISQ value of CMP coated group was slightly higher than that of HA coated group and significantly higher than that of non-coated group.

In situ growth of pyrochlore iridate thin films has been a long-standing challenge due to the low reactivity of Ir at low temperatures and the vaporization of volatile gas species such as IrO_(3)(g)and IrO_(2)(g)at high temperatures and high PO_(2).To address this challenge,we combine thermodynamic analysis of the Pr-Ir-O_(2)system with experimental results from the conventional physical vapor deposition(PVD)technique of *** results indicate that only high growth temperatures yield films with crystallinity sufficient for utilizing and tailoring the desired topological electronic properties and the in situ synthesis of Pr_(2)Ir_(2)O_(7)thin films is fettered by the inability to grow with PO_(2)on the order of 10 Torr at high temperatures,a limitation inherent to the PVD ***,we suggest techniques capable of supplying high partial pressure of key species during deposition,in particular chemical vapor deposition(CVD),as a route to synthesis of Pr_(2)Ir_(2)O_(7).

Over 100-THz bandwidth selective difference frequency generation at LaAlO_(3)/SrTiO_(3) nanojunctions

The ability to combine continuously tunable narrow-band terahertz(THz)generation that can access both the farinfrared and mid-infrared regimes with nanometer-scale spatial resolution is highly promising for identifying underlying light-matter interactions and realizing selective control of rotational or vibrational resonances in nanoparticles or ***,we report selective difference frequency generation with over 100 THz bandwidth via femtosecond optical pulse *** THz emission is generated at nanoscale junctions at the interface of LaAlO_(3)/SrTiO_(3)(LAO/STO)that is defined by conductive atomic force microscope lithography,with the potential to perform THz spectroscopy on individual nanoparticles or *** simulation of the time-domain signal facilitates the identification of components that contribute to the THz *** ultra-wide-bandwidth tunable nanoscale coherent THz source transforms the LAO/STO interface into a promising platform for integrated lab-on-chip optoelectronic devices with various functionalities.
