Multi-Objective Optimization of Aluminum Alloy Electric Bus Frame Connectors for Enhanced Durability

The widespread adoption of aluminumalloy electric buses,known for their energy efficiency and eco-friendliness,faces a challenge due to the aluminum frame’s susceptibility to deformation compared to steel.This issue is further exacerbated by the stringent requirements imposed by the flammability and explosiveness of batteries,necessitating robust frame protection.Our study aims to optimize the connectors of aluminum alloy bus frames,emphasizing durability,energy efficiency,and safety.This research delves into Multi-Objective Coordinated Optimization(MCO)techniques for lightweight design in aluminum alloy bus body connectors.Our goal is to enhance lightweighting,reinforce energy absorption,and improve deformation resistance in connector components.Three typical aluminum alloy connectors were selected and a design optimization platform was built for their MCO using a variety of software and methods.Firstly,through three-point bending experiments and finite element analysis on three types of connector components,we identified optimized design parameters based on deformation patterns.Then,employing Optimal Latin hypercube design(OLHD),parametric modeling,and neural network approximation,we developed high-precision approximate models for the design parameters of each connector component,targeting energy absorption,mass,and logarithmic strain.Lastly,utilizing the Archive-based Micro Genetic Algorithm(AMGA),Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO),and Non-dominated SortingGenetic Algorithm(NSGA2),we explored optimized design solutions for these joint components.Subsequently,we simulated joint assembly buckling during bus rollover crash scenarios to verify and analyze the optimized solutions in three-point bending simulations.Each joint component showcased a remarkable 30%–40%mass reduction while boosting energy absorption.Our design optimization method exhibits high efficiency and costeffectiveness.Leveraging contemporary automation technology,the design optimization platform developed in this study is poised

Nuclear mass is a fundamental property of nuclear physics and a necessary input in nuclear astrophysics.Owing to the complexity of atomic nuclei and nonperturbative strong interactions,conventional physical models cannot completely describe nuclear binding energies.In this study,the mass formula was improved by considering an additional term from the Fermi gas model.All nuclear masses in the Atomic Mass Evaluation Database were reproduced with a root-mean-square deviation(RMSD)of -1.86 MeV(1.92 MeV).The new mass formula exhibits good performance in the neutron-rich nuclear region.The RMSD decreases to 0.393 MeV when the ratio of the neutron number to the proton number is≥1.6.

Redundancy elimination techniques are extensively investigated to reduce storage overheads for cloud-assisted health systems.Deduplication eliminates the redundancy of duplicate blocks by storing one physical instance referenced by multiple duplicates.Delta compression is usually regarded as a complementary technique to deduplication to further remove the redundancy of similar blocks,but our observations indicate that this is disobedient when data have sparse duplicate blocks.In addition,there are many overlapped deltas in the resemblance detection process of post-deduplication delta compression,which hinders the efficiency of delta compression and the index phase of resemblance detection inquires abundant non-similar blocks,resulting in inefficient system throughput.Therefore,a multi-feature-based redundancy elimination scheme,called MFRE,is proposed to solve these problems.The similarity feature and temporal locality feature are excavated to assist redundancy elimination where the similarity feature well expresses the duplicate attribute.Then,similarity-based dynamic post-deduplication delta compression and temporal locality-based dynamic delta compression discover more similar base blocks to minimise overlapped deltas and improve compression ratios.Moreover,the clustering method based on block-relationship and the feature index strategy based on bloom filters reduce IO overheads and improve system throughput.Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method,compared to the state-of-the-art method,improves the compression ratio and system throughput by 9.68%and 50%,respectively.

The Ⅳ-Ⅵ compound GeTe is considered as a promising alternative to the toxic PbTe for high-efficiency mid-temperature thermoelectric applications.However,pristine GeTe suffers from a high concentration of Ge vacancies,resulting in an excessively high hole concentration(> 1 × 1021cm-3),which greatly limits its thermoelectric enhancement.To address this issue,CuBiTe2alloying is introduced to increase the formation energy of Ge vacancies in GeTe,thereby inhibiting the high carrier concentration.The carrier scattering caused by the electronegativity difference between different elements is suppressed due to the similar electronegativity of Cu and Ge atoms.A relatively high hole mobility is obtained,which ultimately leads to a high power factor.Additionally,by introducing Se as an alloying element at the anionic site in GeTe,dense point defects with mass/strainfield fluctuations are induced.This contributes to the strengthening of phonon scattering,thereby reducing the lattice thermal conductivity from 1.44 W·m-1·K-1for pristine GeTe to 0.28 W·m-1·K-1for Ge0.95Cu0.05Bi0.05Te0.9Se0.15compound at 623 K.

Industrial solid waste(ISW)-cement blends have the advantages of low carbon,low energy consumption,and low pollution,but their clinker replacement level in low carbon cement is generally low.To address this challenge,this study considers the latest progress and development trends in the ISW-cement blend research,focusing on the activation of ISWs,the formation of ISW-cement blends,and their associated hydration mechanisms.After the mechanical activation of ISWs,the D50(average size)typically drops below 10μm,and the specific surface area increases above 350 m2/kg.Thermal activation can increase the glassy-phase content and reactivity of ISWs,where the coal gangue activation temperature is usually set at 400-1000°C.Furthermore,the roles of ISWs in the hydration of ISW-cement blends are divided into physical and chemical roles.The physical action of ISWs usually acts in the early stage of the hydration of ISW-cement blends.Subsequently,ISWs participate in the hydration reaction of ISW-cement blends to generate products,such as C-(A)-S-H gels.Moreover,alkali activation affects the hydration kinetics of ISW-cement blends and modifies the proportion of gels.Environmental impacts and costs of ISW-cement blends have also been discussed to guide stakeholders in selecting sustainable ISWs.

Spinal cord injury necessitates effective rehabilitation strategies, with exercise therapies showing promise in promoting recovery. This study investigated the impact of rehabilitation exercise on functional recovery and morphological changes following thoracic contusive spinal cord injury. After a 7-day recovery period after spinal cord injury, mice were assigned to either a trained group(10 weeks of voluntary running wheel or forced treadmill exercise) or an untrained group. Bi-weekly assessments revealed that the exercise-trained group, particularly the voluntary wheel exercise subgroup, displayed significantly improved locomotor recovery, more plasticity of dopaminergic and serotonin modulation compared with the untrained group. Additionally, exercise interventions led to gait pattern restoration and enhanced transcranial magnetic motor-evoked potentials. Despite consistent injury areas across groups, exercise training promoted terminal innervation of descending axons. In summary, voluntary wheel exercise shows promise for enhancing outcomes after thoracic contusive spinal cord injury, emphasizing the role of exercise modality in promoting recovery and morphological changes in spinal cord injuries. Our findings will influence future strategies for rehabilitation exercises, restoring functional movement after spinal cord injury.

Abortive transcript(AT)is a 2-19 nt long non-coding RNA that is produced in the abortive initiation stage.Abortive initiation was found to be closely related to RNA polymerase through in vitro experiments.Therefore,the distribution of AT length and the scale of abortive initiation are correlated to the promoter,discriminator,and transcription initiation sequence,and can be affected by transcription elongation factors.AT plays an important role in the occurrence and development of various diseases.Here we summarize the discovery of AT,the factors responsible for AT formation,the detection methods and biological functions of AT,to provide new clues for finding potential targets in the early diagnosis and treatment of cancers.

In this study, the rapidity distribution, collective flows, and nuclear stopping power in ^(197)Au+^(197)Au collisions at intermediate energies were investigated using the ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics(UrQMD) model with GEMINI++ code. The UrQMD model was adopted to simulate the dynamic evolution of heavy-ion collisions, whereas the GEMINI++ code was used to simulate the decay of primary fragments produced by UrQMD. The calculated results were compared with the INDRA and FOPI experimental data. It was found that the rapidity distribution, collective flows, and nuclear stopping power were affected to a certain extent by the decay of primary fragments, especially at lower beam energies. Furthermore, the experimental data of the collective flows and nuclear stopping power at the investigated beam energies were better reproduced when the sequential decay effect was included.

First principles calculations and scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy(SKPFM)were used to investigate the effect of elements migration ofα-AlFeMnSi phase on micro-galvanic corrosion behavior of Al-Zn-Mg alloy.The simulation results showed that the average work function difference between theα-AlFeMnSi phase and Al matrix decreased from 0.232 to 0.065 eV due to the synchronous migration of elements Fe-Mn-Si.Specifically,as the elements Fe-Si migration during the extrusion process,the average Volta potential difference detected by SKPFM between theα-AlFeMnSi phase and Al matrix dropped down to 432.383 mV from 648.370 mV.Thus,the elements migration reduced the micro-galvanic corrosion sensitivity of Al-Zn-Mg alloy.To reach the calculated low micro-galvanic tendency betweenα-AlFeMnSi phase and Al matrix,the diffusion of Mn should be promoted during extruding process.
