OBJECTIVE： Hawai＇i is an ethnically diverse island state with a high rate of both traditional healing （TH） and complementary and alternative medicine （CAM） use. The aim of this project was to assess TH and CAM use within the pediatric oncology population in Honolulu and improve the delivery of culturally competent care. METHODS： A 9-item survey was distributed to all pediatric oncology patients at Kapi＇olani Medical Center for Women and Children for 3 months. The survey inquired about patient ethnicity, TH practices CAM practices and perception of cultural competence of the care received. Descriptive statistics were calculated for the survey items. Qualitative analysis was done with participant comments to identify themes. RESULTS： Sixty-two surveys were completed. TH was used by 39% of the respondents in the home, and 10% in the hospital （top method was traditional foods）. CAM was used by 27% of the respondents in the home, and 68% in the hospital （top method was healing touch）. Ninety-seven percent of the respondents reported receiving culturally competent care. Areas for improvement included language services and dietary choices. CONCLUSION： CAM and TH are used frequently by pediatric oncology patients in Hawai＇i, and the vast majority of patients and families felt that the care they received was culturally competent.

Answering reachability queries is one of the fundamental graph *** approaches either accelerate index construction by constructing an index that covers only partial reachability relationship,which may result in performing cost traversing operation when answering a query;or accelerate query answering by constructing an index covering the complete reachability relationship,which may be inefficient due to comparing the complete node *** propose a novel labeling scheme,which covers the complete reachability relationship,to accelerate reachability queries *** idea is to decompose the given directed acyclic graph(DAG)G into two subgraphs,G1 and *** G1,we propose to use topological labels consisting of two integers to answer all reachability *** G2,we construct 2-hop labels as existing methods do to answer queries that cannot be answered by topological *** benefits of our method lie in two *** one hand,our method does not need to perform the cost traversing operation when answering *** the other hand,our method can quickly answer most queries in constant time without comparing the whole node *** confirm the efficiency of our approaches by extensive experimental studies using 20 real datasets.

Lauryl betaine(LB)as an amphoteric surfactant carries both positive and negative charges and should be able to generate stable foam through electrostatic interaction with nanoparticles and ***,no previous attempts have been made to investigate the influence of nanoparticles and other co-surfactants on the stability and apparent viscosity of LBstabilized *** this study,a thorough investigation on the influence of silicon dioxide(SiO2)nanoparticles,alpha olefin sulfonate(AOS)and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS),on foam stability and apparent viscosity was carried *** experiments were conducted with the 2D Hele-Shaw cell at high foam qualities(80%-98%).Influence of AOS on the interaction between the LB foam and oil was also *** showed that the SiO2-LB foam apparent viscosity decreased with increasing surfactant concentration from 0.1 wt%to 0.3 wt%.0.1 wt%SiO2 was the optimum concentration and increased the 0.1 wt%LB foam stability by 108.65%at 96%foam *** the presence of co-surfactants,the most stable foam,with the highest apparent viscosity,was generated by AOS/LB solution at a ratio of 9:*** emulsified crude oil did not imbibe into AOS-LB foam ***,oil was redirected into the plateau borders where the accumulated oil drops delayed the rate of film thinning,bubble coalescence and coarsening.

We derive the Lax pairs and integrability conditions of the nonlinear Schrdinger equation with higher-order terms, complex potentials, and time-dependent coefficients. Cubic and quintic nonlinearities together with derivative terms are considered. The Lax pairs and integrability conditions for some of the well-known nonlinear Schrdinger equations, including a new equation which was not considered previously in the literature, are then derived as special cases. We show most clearly with a similarity transformation that the higher-order terms restrict the integrability to linear potential in contrast with quadratic potential for the standard nonlinear Schrdinger equation.

与植物根系相关的细菌群落在抑制土传病害中起着重要作用,多品种有益微生物组合可以增强病害抑制作用。本研究用棘孢木霉FJ035处理连作模式下黄瓜根际,探究了其对连作黄瓜土壤中微生物群落的变化、对黄瓜枯萎病的防效及对黄瓜植株生长的影响。结果表明,木霉影响了黄瓜连作土壤中微生物群落变化,从而显著促进了黄瓜植株的生长,增强了黄瓜对黄瓜枯萎病菌SSCFo1的根际免疫效应。同时,根据宏基因组和培养组联合分析及菌群回接实验结果构建了由FJ035和来自11个细菌属的30株菌株组成的细菌-真菌合成群落TB11。接种SSCFo1的黄瓜植株经TB11处理后,枯萎病发病率降低了70.0%,鲜重增加了64.59%。将合成菌群TB11进一步简化为由FJ035和5属6株菌组成的TB5简化菌群。TB5在病害控制和促进生长方面与Tb11类似。TB5中的细菌菌株兼具抑制SCCFo1的生长和溶解土壤养分的多重功能,在抑制黄瓜枯萎病的同时促进了黄瓜植株的生长,还增加了黄瓜植株抗氧化、防御相关酶和生长激素相关基因的表达。这些发现阐明了有益的生防真菌与本地微生物之间的相互作用来提高生物防治稳定性,以保护作物免受病原体侵害,利用有益的合成微生物组合来支持可持续农业管理系统。

Solidification or crystallization of phase change emulsion in the form of fine emulsion drops in a direct contact coolant at temperatures below their freezing point was studied. This work is mainly focused on the size and shape of the generated partides from phase change emulsified fats. Size of the particles is the major or key factor being considered during their formation, however, other factors that govern the particle size and shape were also observed. The operating parameters of the process were optimized in order to obtain particles of smaller size ranges in the window of current operating conditions. The crystallization of complex emulsion maffices is very difficult to control in the bulk at desired requirement. Hence, the emulsion drop to particle formation has advan- tage in comparison with the bulk solidification or crystallization. The main objective of this work is to achieve spherical emulsion particles in a direct contact cooling system. Parameters like： stat）ility, characterization, viscos- ity, and the effect of different energy inputs were examined. Moreover, the effects of the capillary size, interracial tension, temperature of the emulsion on the particle size were also monitrored.

The numerous applications of Maxwell Nanofluid Stagnation Point Flow,such as those in production industries,the processing of polymers,compression,power generation,lubrication systems,food manufacturing and air conditioning,among other applications,require further research into the effects of various parameters on flow *** this paper,a study has been carried out for the heat andmass transfer of Maxwell nanofluid flow over the heated stretching sheet.A mathematical model with constitutive expressions is constructed in partial differential equations(PDEs)through obligatory basic conservation laws.A series of transformations are then used to take the system into an ordinary differential equation(ODE).The boundary conditions(BCs)are also treated similarly for transforming into first-order ordinary differential equations(ODEs).Then these ODEs are computed by using the Shooting *** effect of factors on the skin friction coefficient,the local Nusselt number,and the local Sherwood number are explored,and the results are displayed *** obtained results demonstrate that by increasing the values of the Maxwell and slip velocity parameters,velocity *** investigators tasked with addressing unresolved difficulties in the realm of enclosures used in industry and engineering,we thought this work would serve as a guide.

互联网加快了全球化进程,但随之而来的是由过度使用互联网所带来的负面影响。目前,玩网络游戏已经成为全球特别是亚洲国家的青少年最喜欢的消遣活动。随着互联网的普及,互联网和网络游戏的成瘾性使用的报告不断增多。APA在DSM-V中增加了网络游戏障碍,这一问题仍有待进一步的研究。这导致了对网络和视频游戏成瘾性使用研究的激增。但它的定义或诊断分析在概念上并不清晰,而且,迄今也缺乏标准的理论框架。本研究旨在评估宜昌地级市病态网络游戏使用成瘾率,测试病态网络游戏使用对青少年主观幸福感和睡眠质量的影响,评估睡眠质量在病态网络游戏使用与主观幸福感之间的中介作用。并探讨自我控制对睡眠质量的中介效应的调节作用。另一个主要目的是测试理论框架的组合,以了解病理性网络游戏使用对青少年的影响。本研究从2767名初中和高中生(7、8、9、11、12年级)的样本中收集数据。这项研究的概念框架是基于过去研究中经常使用的理论框架的组合来理解互联网和病理性网络游戏的使用及其效果。结果表明,4.1%的青少年达到了病态网络游戏上瘾的标准。此外,病理性网络游戏的使用也对参与者的睡眠质量和主观幸福感产生了负面影响。睡眠质量是影响病理性网络游戏使用对主观幸福感预测作用的中介因素。此外,在病理性网络游戏使用中,自我控制调节了睡眠质量的中介作用。

State convergence is a novel control algorithm for bilateral teleoperation of robotic systems. First, it models the teleoperation system on state space and considers all the possible interactions between the master and slave systems. Second, it presents an elegant design procedure which requires a set of equations to be solved in order to compute the control gains of the bilateral loop. These design conditions are obtained by turning the master-slave error into an autonomous system and imposing the desired dynamic behavior of the teleoperation system. Resultantly, the convergence of master and slave states is achieved in a well-defined manner. The present study aims at achieving a similar convergence behavior offered by state convergence controller while reducing the number of variables sent across the communication channel. The proposal suggests transmitting composite master and slave variables instead of full master and slave states while keeping the operator's force channel intact. We show that,with these composite and force variables;it is indeed possible to achieve the convergence of states in a desired way by strictly following the method of state convergence. The proposal leads to a reduced complexity state convergence algorithm which is termed as composite state convergence controller. In order to validate the proposed scheme in the absence and presence of communication time delays, MATLAB simulations and semi-real time experiments are performed on a single degree-of-freedom teleoperation system.
