Objective Patient-specific in vivo ventricle material parameter value determination is important for cardiovascular investigations. Ventricle active contraction caused by sarcomere shortening leads to change of ventricular zero-load configurations. Background Cardiovascular diseases are closely linked to atherosclerotic plaque development and *** progression prediction is of fundamental significance to cardiovascular research and disease diagnosis,prevention,and *** linear mixed models(GlMM)is an extension of linear model for categorical responses while considering the correlation among *** Magnetic resonance image(MRI)data of carotid atheroscleroticplaques were acquired from 20 patients with consent obtained and 3D thin-layer models were constructed to calculate plaque stress and strain for plaque progression *** for ten morphological and biomechanical risk factors included wall thickness(WT),lipid percent(lP),minimum cap thickness(MinCT),plaque area(PA),plaque burden(PB),lumen area(lA),maximum plaque wall stress(MPWS),maximum plaque wall strain(MPWSn),average plaque wall stress(APWS),and average plaque wall strain(APWSn)were extracted from all slices for *** thickness increase(WTI),plaque burden increase(PBI)and plaque area increase(PAI) were chosen as three measures for plaque *** linear mixed models(GlMM)with 5-fold cross-validation strategy were used to calculate prediction accuracy for each predictor and identify optimal predictor with the highest prediction accuracy defined as sum of sensitivity and *** 201 MRI slices were randomly divided into 4 training subgroups and 1 verification *** training subgroups were used for model fitting,and the verification subgroup was used to estimate the *** combinations(total1023)of 10 risk factors were feed to GlMM and the prediction accuracy of each predictor were selected from the point on the ROC(receiver operating characteristic)curve with the highest sum of specificity and *** lA was the best single predictor for PBI with the highest prediction accuracy(1.360 1),and the area under of the ROC curve(AUC)is0.654 0,followed by APWSn(1.336

The fundamental unit of rapid, physiological color change in vertebrates is the dermal chromato- phore unit. This unit, comprised of cellular associations between different chromatophore types, is relatively conserved across the fish, amphibian, and reptilian species capable of physiological color change and numerous attempts have been made to understand the nature of the four major chro- matophore types （melanophores, erythrophores, xanthophores, and iridophores） and their bio- chemical regulation. In this review, we attempt to describe the current state of knowledge regard- ing what classifies a pigment cell as a dynamic chromatophore, the unique characteristics of each chromatophore type, and how different hormones, neurotransmitters, or other signals direct pig- ment reorganization in a variety of vertebrate taxa.

Background： Maternal over and restricted nutrition has negative consequences on the muscle of offspring by reducing muscle fiber number and altering regulators of muscle growth. To determine if over and restricted maternal nutrition affected muscle growth and gene fed 60%, 100% or 140% of National Research Council and protein expression in offspring, 36 pregnant ewes were requirements from d 31 ＋ 1,3 of gestation until parturition. lambs from control-fed （CON）, restricted-fed （RES） or over-fed （OVER） ewes were necropsied within 1 d of birth （n = 18） or maintained on a control diet for 3 mo （n = ] 5）. Semitendinosus muscle was collected for immunohistochemistry, and protein and gene expression analysis. Results： Compared with CON, muscle fiber cross-sectional area （CSA） increased in RES （58%） and OVER （47%） lambs at 1 d of age （P〈 0.01）; however at 3 mo, CSA decreased 15% and 17% compared with CON, respectively （P 〈 0.01）. Compared with CON, muscle lipid content was increased in OVER （212.4%） and RES （92.5%） at d 1 （P 〈 0.0001）. Muscle lipid content was increased 36.1% in OVER and decreased 23.6% in RES compared with CON at 3 mo （P 〈 0.0001）. At d 1, myostatin mRNA abundance in whole muscle tended to be greater in OVER （P = 0.07） than CON. Follistatin mRNA abundance increased in OVER （P = 0.04） and tended to increase in RES （P = 0.06） compared with CON at d 1. However, there was no difference in myostatin or follistatin protein expression （P 〉 0.3）. Phosphorylated Akt （ser473） was increased in RES at 3 mo compared with CON （P = 0.006）. Conclusions： In conclusion, maternal over and restricted nutrient intake alters muscle lipid content and growth of offspring, possibly through altered gene and protein expression.

Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1(IDO1)is a rate-limiting metabolic enzyme that converts the essential amino acid tryptophan(Trp)into downstream catabolites known as ***,numerous studies have demonstrated that IDO1 is highly expressed in multiple types of human *** studies have further introduced an interesting paradox:while single-agent treatment with IDO1 enzyme inhibitor has a negligible effect on decreasing the established cancer burden,approaches combining select therapies with IDO1 blockade tend to yield a synergistic benefit against tumor growth and/or animal subject *** the high expression of IDO1 among multiple cancer types along with the lack of monotherapeutic efficacy,these data suggest that there is a more complex mechanism of action than previously *** to the dual faces of the astrological Gemini,we highlight the multiple roles of IDO1 and review its canonical association with IDO1-dependent tryptophan metabolism,as well as documented evidence confirming the dispensability of enzyme activity for its immunosuppressive *** gene transcript levels for IDO1 highlight its strong association with T-cell infiltration,but the lack of a universal prognostic significance among all cancer ***,ongoing clinical trials are discussed with consideration of IDO1-targeting strategies that enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy for cancer patients。

leibnitzia comprises six species of perennial herbs that are adapted to high elevation conditions and is one of only two Asteraceae genera known to have an exclusively disjunct distribution spanning central to eastern Asia and North *** phylogenetic analysis of leibnitzia and other Gerbera-complex members indicates that leibnitzia is monophyletic,which is in contrast with our expectation that the American leibnitzia species l. lyrata and *** would be more closely related to another American member of the Gerbera-complex,namely *** area reconstructions show that the historical biogeography of the Gerbera-complex mirrors that of the entire Asteraceae,with early diverging lineages located in South America that were followed by transfers to Africa and Eurasia and,most recently,to North *** transfer of leibnitzia appears to have been directed from Asia to North *** calibrations of nuclear(ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer region)and chloroplast(trnl-rpl32 intron)DNA sequence data using relaxed clock methods and either mean rate or fossil-based priors unanimously support Miocene and younger divergence times for Gerbera-complex *** ages are not consistent with most Gondwanan vicariance episodes and,thus,the global distribution of Gerbera-complex members must be explained in large part by long-distance *** species of leibnitzia are estimated to have diverged from their Asian ancestor during the Quaternary(ca.2 mya)and either migrated overland to North America via Beringia and retreated southwards along high elevation corridors to their present location in southwestern North America or were dispersed long distance.

Osteosarcoma is a primary bone tumor that affects children and young *** estrogen metabolite 2-methoxyestradiol(2-ME)induces cell death in osteosarcoma *** determine whether 2-ME actions involve the control of protein synthesis,we studied the effect of 2-ME on eukaryotic initiation factor 4E(eIF4E)and eIF4E-binding protein 1(4E-BP1)in MG63 osteosarcoma *** results show that 2-ME treatment increases the association of eIF4E with 4E-BP1 in osteosarcoma ***,2-ME decreases the binding of eIF4E protein to 7-methyl-guanosine cap structure,indicating that 2-ME treatment results in the inhibition of translational *** findings are further supported by the inhibition of protein synthesis in 2-ME-treated osteosarcoma *** together,our studies show that 2-ME-mediated antitumor effects in osteosarcoma cells involve the regulation of protein synthesis,and translational machinery could serve as a target in the treatment of osteosarcoma.
