Lignocellulosic biom.ss offers the m.st abundant renewable resource in replacing traditional fossil resources. However, it is still a m.jor challenge to directly convert the lignin com.onent into value-added m.terials. The availability of plentiful hydroxyl groups in lignin m.crom.lecules and its unique three-dim.nsional structure m.ke it an ideal precursor for m.soporous biosorbents. In this work, we reported an environm.ntally friendly and econom.cally feasible m.thod for the fabrication of m.soporous lignin-based biosorbent （m.BB） from.lignocellulosic biom.ss through a SOB m.cro-therm.l-explosion process, as a byproduct of m.crocrystalline cellulose. BET analysis reveal the average pore-size distribution of 5.50 nm. the average pore value of 0.35 cm./g, and the specific surface area of 186 m./g. The physicochem.cal properties of m.BB were studied by fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, attenuated-total-reflection fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy （ATR-FTIR）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, and elem.nt analysis. These results showed that there are large am.unts of sutfonic functional groups existing on the surface of this biosorbent. Pb（II） was used as a m.del heavy-m.tal-ion to dem.nstrate the technical feasibility for heavy-m.tal-ion rem.val. Considering that lignocellulosic biom.ss is a naturally abundant and renewable resource and SO3 m.cro-therm.l-explosion is a proven technique, this biosorbent can be easily produced at large scale and becom. a sustainable and reliable resource for wastewater treatm.nt.

Oxygen fugacity(fO_(2))is a key intensity variable during the entire m.gm.tic-hydrotherm.l m.neralization *** redox state and its variations between different stages of the ore-form.ng fluids of interm.diate sulfidation epitherm.l deposits are rarely deciphered due to the lack of appropriate approaches to determ.ne fO_(2)of the ***,we reported theδ^(34)S of the sulfides from.three different stages(stageⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ)of Zhengguang,an Early Ordovician Au-rich interm.diate sulfidation(IS)epitherm.l deposit,to decipher the redox evolution of the ore-form.ng *** increasingδ^(34)S values from.stageⅠpyrite(pyl,average-2.6‰)through py2(average-1.9‰)to py3(average-0.2‰)indicates a decrease of the oxygen fugacity of the ore-form.ng fluids.A com.ilation ofδ^(34)S values of sulfides from.two subtypes of IS deposits(Au-rich and Ag-rich)from.NE China shows that theδ^(34)S values of sulfides from.Au-rich IS deposits are system.tically lighter than those of Ag-rich IS Ag-Pb-Zn deposit,indicating the ore-form.ng fluids of the form.r are m.re oxidized than the *** highlight that sulfur isotopic com.osition of hypogene sulfides is an efficacious proxy to fingerprint the oxygen fugacity fluctuations of epitherm.l deposits and could potentially be used to distinguish the subtypes of IS deposits.

Electrical conductivity(EC)of soil-water extracts is com.only used to assess soil ***,its conversion to the EC of saturated soil paste extracts(ECe),the standard m.asure of soil salinity,is currently required for practical *** m.ny regression m.dels can be used to obtain ECe from.the EC of soil-water extracts,the application of a site-specific m.del to different sites is not straightforward due to confounding soil factors such as soil *** study was conducted to develop a universal regression m.del to estim.te a conversion factor(CF)for predicting EC_(e) from.EC of soil-water extracts at a 1:5 ratio(EC_(1:5)),by em.loying a site-specific soil texture(i.e.,sand content).A regression m.del,CF=8.9105e^(0.0106sand)/1.2984(r^(2)=0.97,Prim.nts using artificial saline soils with different textures(n=6,sand content=10%-65%)and salinity levels(n=7,salinity=1-24 dS m.(-1)).m.del perform.nce was validated using an independent dataset and dem.nstrated that EC_(e) prediction using the developed m.del is m.re suitable for highly saline soils than for low saline *** feasibility of the regression m.del should be tested at other *** soil factors affecting EC conversion factor also need to be explored to revise and im.rove the m.del through further studies.

We proposed a new bilayer surface plasm.n resonance-based fiber-optic refractive index sensor with silver and an over-layer of TiO2. We num.rically investigated the optim.l thickness of TiO2 over-layer in the proposed sensor and com.ared its perform.nce to that based on typical bim.tallic layers of silver-and-gold in the aqueous m.dia using finite-difference tim. dom.in approach. We show that the use of TiO2 over-layer greatly im.roves the sensor perform.nce in term. of sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio com.ared to that with gold as the over-layer. Not only does the TiO2 over-layer offer a cost-effective alternative to gold for overcom.ng the oxidation problem. but also it allows resonance wavelength-tunability.

Occurrence conditions of groundwater in southern karst area are com.licated. The water-bearing m.dia in the karst have m.ltiplicity, and the groundwater is hosted in holes, gaps, seam., pipes and caves. The karst water shows heterogeneity where fast and slow flow coexist, and the Darcy and non-Darcy flow coexist, and the liquid flow, the gas flow and solid flow coexist. The evaluation and investigation indicates that the m.neable resource of karst groundwater is about 53.44 billion m.3/y, and the current exploitation quantity is m.rely 6.565 billion m.3/year. The exploitation and utilization potential is gigantic. In the region there are altogether 2 763 karst subterranean rivers with a total length of 12 687 km. The dry season runoff volum. equals to 47 billion m.3/year. At present the exploitation is only 10%. Four effective utilization m.dels of karst groundwater resources have been put forward.(1) The karst hills-depression zone form.d the surface-underground united reservoir. By digging tunnels, water diversion irrigation and generating electricity, the ecological econom. is developed.(2) In the deep-cut peak cluster depression area, by using the high-part Epikarst spring and constructing the regulation and storage water tank, the stereo ecological agriculture is developed.(3) In the karst peak forest plain and hilly-gully area, the pum.-type underground regulating reservoir is constructed and the water-saving ecological agriculture is strengthened.(4) In the fault basin region with the surrounding groundwater runoff belting beam.backwater, the water resources are jointly controlled to develop a fruit crop base within the basin.

Although accum.lating data dem.nstrate that dietary supplem.ntation of bam.oo vinegar and charcoal powder(BVC)can significantly strengthen the im.unity and boost the growth of dom.stic anim.ls,its application potency still awaits verification in com.ercial fish species such as the large-scale loach Param.sgurnus *** im.acts of 90-day dietary supplem.ntation of 1%and 2%BVC on survival and growth perform.nce of the loach,and on the intestinal m.rphological characteristics and gut m.croflora were *** data show that the large-scale loach supplied with BVC at the experim.ntal doses had significant higher survival rates and better growth perform.nce(indicated by greater weight gain(1.13–1.14 tim.s),higher specific growth rate(1.04 tim.s),and lower feed conversion ratio(0.88–0.89 tim.s))com.ared to that of the control(Pm.nation revealed significant longer villus(3.22–5.54 tim.s),deeper crypt(1.77–1.87 tim.s),and thicker m.scle(1.59–3.17 tim.s)in the intestines of large-scale loach fed with BVC(Pm.re,we found that the gut m.croflora consisted of significantly fewer proportions of potential pathogenic bacterial species(Aerom.nas veronii and Escherichia coli),but significantly greater proportions of beneficial m.crobes(Lactococus raffinolactis and Faecalibacterium.prausnitzii).Therefore,dietary intake of BVC can prom.te intestinal tract developm.nt and optim.ze gut m.croflora,by which the survival and growth of large-scale loach m.y be im.roved.

This paper addresses the Phanerozoic tectonic evolution of the western Tarim.Basin based on an integrated stratigraphic,structural and tectonic analysis.P-wave velocity data show that the basin has a stable and rigid *** western Tarim.Basin experienced a com.lex tectonic evolutionary history,and this evolution can be divided into six stages:Neoproterozoic to Early Ordovician,m.ddle Ordovician to m.ddle Devonian,Late Devonian to Perm.an,Triassic,Jurassic to Cretaceous and Paleogene to *** western Tarim.Basin was a rift basin in the Neoproterozoic to Early *** the m.ddle Ordovician to m.ddle Devonian,the basin consisted of a flexural depression in the south and a depression that changed from.a rift depression to a flexural depression in the north during each period,i.e.,the m.ddle-Late Ordovician and the Silurian to m.ddle *** the Late Devonian to Perm.an,the basin was a depression basin early and then changed into a flexural basin late in each period,i.e.,the Late Devonian to Carboniferous and the *** the Triassic,the basin was a foreland basin,and from.the Jurassic to Cretaceous,it was a downwarped *** the Paleogene,the basin becam. a rejuvenated foreland *** on two cross sections,we conclude that the extension and shortening in the profile reflect the tectonic evolution of the Tarim.*** Tarim.Basin has becom. a com.osite and superim.osed sedim.ntary basin because of its long-term.and com.licated tectonic evolutionary history,highly rigid and stable basem.nt and large size.
